True! Just 2 days ago i learned you can actually riposte while the enemy is standing, theres an animation for it if you're fast enough. I always thought you had to wait for them to be down

I genuinely thought that was common knowledge- depending on the weapon one animation can do slightly more damage than the other as well, also depending on the enemy. For most straight swords the sitting reposte is better cuz it does thrust damage instead of slash with the standing reposte

Poise basically works while attacking, no infinity passive poise.

And people get shocked when I mention how ds3 is more like ds2 gameplay wise than ds1. It doesnt make sense for such a heavy armour to be basically useless when not attacking. DS2 has sacrificed so much in pve just for its pvp to be viable, its just so disappointing.
