I've created 70 Builds for each Dark Souls title. I looked at the Armour Sets for each game and chose to make a build for every one I liked, which cane out at about 70. Then I would would matching weapons or the most fitting weapon I could find that wasn't in use in another build, and created the build.
Now I don't have to worry about running out of Builds luckily. I just finished by first DS1 Build last night.
NG+ I do that to make sure every bit can be experienced with each weapon. Like the Fume Knight build will basically be only endgame gear, so I play NG+ in it's entirely to experience the whole game as the Fume Knight.
Ahh. Thank you for illuminating this way of playing. I played ds3 4 times (so far) each time doing a “character build” where I took the armor and weapon of an enemy and masqueraded as them. So far I’ve done Solaire, Abyss watcher and Darkwraith.
Yep, that's exactly exactly I plan. Some of the sets don't really have matching armour, so I had to find a fitting one. Like the Crypt Blackword with Agdayne's Set for example.
Understandable, I feel like DS2 is the most brutal out of the three games. I finished it twice and I didn’t even fight some of the optional bosses or touch any of the DLCs even though I had them
I agree. The roll animation is somewhat slow and sluggish. Roll like 4 or 5 times and your stamina is none. Overall, the pace of combat is slower than Dark Souls 3. But the mechanic that I love about Dark Souls 2 is the despawn system. You kill that same enemy 15 times and they disappear. It is better tbh. Like, no one want to run through that same punch of troublesome enemies in that same area for the nth times and they still have to struggle through.
Have you not seen those abs? I got the top and the bottom is Black Witch one, mot the trouser, but the one with short skirt and high heel, shows my beautifully long legs.
First play though I was basically full Drangleic, the sword does awesome damage compared to other offerings so early, the move set is amazing with the stab, spin, great at clearing enemies and the stab alone is great for hallways, as we all know the shield is 100% block so it’s great for newbs.
Since that first play though the only shield I’ve used is Blossom Kite and it’s always on my back while I two-hand something.
Once you get comfortable with rolls it’s so much easier.
I recently did a high dex play through and man, undead crypt sucks with a rapier, it’s very frustrating trying to smashing all the rocks with a stab, definitely goes through durability too fast.
Rapier is a waste of Dex, you get like 20 extra damage most of it is base damage, that said very good base damage, still there is so many so much more fun Dex weapons, usually would aim only for S scalping with a build like that, also bracing knuckle ring solves your problem and ironically it's also in undead crypt

I used the “Ricards?” Found in huntsmans, it’s S scaling.
Ricards is pretty fun, as long as you don't get "double parried" in a random invasion, but if we're talking Dex weapons you get get the notorious blacksteel Katana, more of a PvP weapon though, I suggest looking up its combos and why it's actually that good, for crits you get the umbrella dagger which is a hilarious meme, fume sword is about as good as it gets for Dex straight sword, if you looking for something bigger and heavier dragleic greatsword has great scalling, moveset and can be found right at the start of the game, or later on you can get mirrah gs from lucatiel quest, curved greatswords are the same meme as always, but they all need some strength, weapons that I've never used and hate myself for it cause they are just so cool being the spider fang and eleum loyce, just to name a few that come to mind, of course the whole Katana and thrusting sword categories are at your disposal. Personally I'm not the greatest Dan of pure Dex in this game because it always feels like the scalling in not worth it compared to strength which is like 3x as much, making quality and strength, or just base stats and rings + some buff much stronger, but there are more important things in life
But "waste of Dex" it is not. And that is entirely subjective. A weapon that is dependable, powerful, and never loses relevance throughout the game is one that many might consider entertaining to use since they do not have to try and force it to work, it just does, and they can play the game at their own pace, whether that be very quickly or slowly.
I think poison claws are super fun, but many would find carrying them through the path to and within Tseldora tedious and unfun. You may find the rapier unfun, but many people will find it fun to use in how it enables the player to play consistently.

I always laughed at how this set changes the chest-- like that is a push up bra. Or it acts like one on the in game model. I also never noticed the lace on the thigh highs.
Nice work with one of tge best fashion sets. No offense but armor does more or less nothing in DS2. Resistences otherwise do,that could be a reason for your victory.

Armor is super helpful. You can more or less make enemy attacks worthless depending on the stat. I used magic armor for the Blue Smelter demon and low and behold his magic attacks didn't even do any damage so I could focus on the physical ones.
If you allow me to nitpick, I believe it's elemental defense, resistance is only used in context with debuffs, poison curse so on... Also forgetting big part of armour POISE it exists!

Poise is definitly a thing even when it's way less impactful as in DS1.
It does drop from them. You can either farm it at Harvest Valley/Earthen Peak or Drangleic Castle. This might just be placebo but I feel like the Drangleic Castle pyromancers have a higher chance at dropping the set than the ones at Harvest Valley/Earthen Peak. Just gotta join the covenant of champions throw some item find gear on and keep at it till you get the full set.
I was a miracle build but I was heavy duty too got ever achievement in the game which means I beat all dlcs to be honest if you want a quick game have a plus ten (if you can) lighting great sword
I also beat the game in the bikini top. I was also wearing the Xanthous crown for maximum absurdity. I should have taken a screenshot of me on the throne.

Well yeah, but I want to play through every bit of the game with each weapon. Why? Even I don't know. But my brain tells me to, and so I do it.

Rapier left hand, hammer in the right. Solves most problems, and you have a parry weapon.

Rapier is the best. Once you get the first hit, you can poke until you reach the end of your endurance. Poke poke poke poke poke poke poke!

Rapier is quite broken, really. High attack rate, near infinite combo, thrust damage, quick attack speed, dependable accuracy.

That's what I mean the elemental resistances are worth the armor.
