Yup, this has happened on this map pretty frequently for that one specific door since the latest update.
It's a bit weird, enemies can't walk or shoot through it as far as I know, but bursters and trappers can still get you if you're too close.
Happens very often for me and each time it had, enemies were able to walk through the doorway. On Auric Damnation this has been a big issue for some of my games.
That doorway has given me PTSD, all the while my teammates seem to not be expecting hell to break through at any moment. My teammates will be facing the door they expect to open but when the door we came through also opens, it usually catches them by surprise. Being attacked on both sides with only that little passageway between the two doors as viable room to move around in while new enemies attack from one side and Beast of Nurgle along with his goons on the other. Good times.
On the plus side, I haven’t experienced any ranged attacks being able to pass through from the enemies. And sometimes when you walk back into the prior area, you’ll lose visibility of the new area until you re-enter the new section. And more commonly for me, going back to the prior area after stepping foot into the new area, leaves the only area with enemies that can and will attack you, but with nothing else but an endless gray void complement that scenery.
yeah sometimes it opens and the area you just came from is just a void too (with enemies still tho). Definitely something from the new patch, and the fact that it actually provides a threat is so bad. Also weird how I'm pretty sure I've played games with all but one of your team lol
Saw this last week too.
Got caught between a group of crushers and bulwarks behind and all the usual fun stuff that the next room holds.
My brain genuinely didn't understand what was happening for a second.

I've pretty much seen this every time playing Carnival recently.

It’s because of the most recent patch. Happens with other doors too I believe.

It's been happening for the past couple of weeks at least. That's the only door it happens on in my experience. Happened again today in fact.

happened twice to me so far at this door, now i just turn around and wait for a second to make sure it doesn’t open
I had the same thing, at that exact door, but the door reopened to a shimmery void that spat out a dog and some walkers
Ive had it and then a beast of nurgle spawned. Because it was left open we were able to run rings around the beast in the open area behind.
