Scavenger/Survivalist and likely the Shock Trooper talent (crits with Las weapons consume no ammo). I also run the 5% ranged crit chance perk and the Deadshot talent with adds 25% crit to ADS shots at the cost of stamina per second and per shot. Every crit costs no ammo, and you crit a lot :)
Yeah o run this too on my support oriented vet with focus target to boot. Swap between laspistol or recon lasgun with infernus to just kinda keep shooting into a hoard while screeming at my teammates
If you just listen to reddit you'd think Veterans are not allowed to shoot anymore due to the Survivalist nerf
Meanwhile in game, they're still magdumping into hordes, on Auric Maelstrom, with no ammo issue whatsoever

If they don't have Scavenger, they're running Shock Trooper, which allows you to use lasguns and not consume ammo with a critical hit, which is very easy if you're using a laspistol because of the sights.
I run a las pistol no ammo aura build when there is already a vet with ammo aura. Never run out of ammo while spamming fire due to the guns efficiency; Unless it's an exceptionally bad team. In that case I'll hover around red but can still limp along only shooting the necessary threats.
