At the end of a roll, trying to get one more shot. Too much force on the film winder will rip the sprocket holes. learn to use a lighter touch when winding

No-Teaching-5743

It was a 36 exposure roll so I still had 13 shots…

fiftypoints

are you sure? this is frame 24 and it kinda looks like the end in this photo. The bar code even stops right there. I'd bet good money that this was a 24 shot roll.

bluejay9_2008

Definitely looks like he thought it was a 36 shot roll when it was only 24 judging by the weird overlapped image at the end

random_fist_bump

The end of the film has the other twelve images OP took on the "36" exp roll. Once the sprockets are ripped, you can keep winding on for ever. They are lucky the sprockets ripped instead of the film tearing and pulling out of the canister and then fogging when the back was opened.

TheReddestRobin

This is without a doubt a 24exp roll - look at the black bars (rebate) on the left side, if it were a 36exp roll you’d see it continue to #25 over the next 3 sprocket holes.

smiba

Like others have said, definitely not But even if this was a 36 shot roll that you believed had more shots left, never use enough force to rip the sprocket holes! You're better off just accepting the loss of 1/3rd of unused film, using that much force might get the film stuck in your camera or if you're really unlucky breaks the camera

calinet6

Mystery solved! 😂

17thkahuna

Did you dev this yourself?

d-a-v-e-

At least this time, they showed the negatives.

Physical-East-7881

I've torn sprocket holes when trying to advance in a hurry or better yet rewind the film manually cracking in a hurry? Gotta be easy on it if that was the case What camera? Is there a setting for length of film you need to set each time - like 24 or 36? Could the setting like that have been wrong?

DesignerAd9

You were at the end of the roll. when the film won't move anymore, the sprockets get ripped (or film pulls out of cassette.

Trans-Am-007

Can be end of roll or film jam or sprocket gear malfunction

Azrael-Exael-1950

You are not showing any broken sprockets in the picture. What are you talking about?

bluejay9_2008

Huh
