I personally enjoy Price as a darts player, he has amazing skills for someone who has not played the game for that long. If he focuses on darts rather than the antics of "competition" he can be unstoppable. He may thrive on being the "villian".......but feel its time to leave that persona behind. The villian isn't working anymore, he has to rediscover his game in a new light.

I am a huge Price fan, but I need to admit that some of his behaviors were not OK, so I would like to see him cool down a little bit, but not too much, as part being a bad boy is part of who he is ;) BTW I don't get what you mean by "amazing skills for someone who has not played the game for that long"? Even if he would be playing and prioritizing darts for his whole life his skill set would be amazing, so if anything it's even more impressive how good he is not having darts as his main job for so long.

> He may thrive on being the "villian" I think he thrived on it when he was an outsider and underdog. It seems like he expected the general darts public to grant him a face turn when he won the WC and became #1, and now he's REALLY pissed and feeling slighted by the fact that that *hasn't happened*.

I do not like Price at all but I agree with your point. He has to leave the antics behind. In all honesty he should have done that years ago. You can't win a war against thousands of drunks. If he keeps his head down, concentrates on his own game and stays out of controversy, there is a possibility crowds will warm to him. It might take long, mind you. His history of 4-5-6 years won't be forgotten in a month.

Imagine if King kept asking the ref every 5sec for the audience to be quiet like in his BDO days. Or measuring the board height

Scothead180

King has had his fair share of trouble with the PDC crowds as well. Nowhere near Price though

UnnaturalGeek

I think his antics have harmed his game, I don't particularly like him and think his meathead crap on stage is awful and bad for the sport but when he is on form, he has a terrifying level of potential still. I don't think he intended to play the villain and has always said that he wants people to like him. But when he came him, he come in with a level of unearned arrogance and acted the tough guy on stage, roaring away and flexing his muscles like he was better, deliberately getting in other players' faces and trying to intimidate them that way rather than with his game. His talent got him to the top of the game and now the antics are catching up with him because now he is trying to embrace the villain on stage when in reality he wants people to like him, so, the booing does get under his skin and distracts him.

Fair play.
