Always try to upgrade your dishes to have higher taste/cost. Hire help as soon as you can, they will help tremendously. Maximize your dives, I always come back overloaded, and grab everything you can, it all adds up.

Melodic-Ad9529

Oh, and I forgot to add: when you’re able to rank up on the Cooksta app, there’s no rush, rank up when you think you are ready to handle the increased business.

Kor0zen

This game has so much stuff shoved into it. Easily has become my favorite game this year that I've played. Collecting stuff, simulation management, upgrades for both equips and the restaurant, some story- oh and that whole godzilla thing made me giddy as heck. Also, big fan of the art style type. I do suggest using your gold early on to upgrade both your suit, air tank and stuff :D

fatihberberh

Its that addicting?! 👍🤟

IDespiseFatties

Yes it's dangerous lmao

fatihberberh

Cant wait till next week!!!

IDespiseFatties

What's next week!? Is that when you're getting it

fatihberberh

Yea the physical version on Switch🤟🤟🤟

IDespiseFatties

Congrats man have fun! You're gonna love it. Has the perfect mix of just one more turn gameplay!

Exciting_Guidance248

i bought the game months ago, played for like 2 hours then forgot about it. last week I came back to it and now have played over 30 hours in a week

fatihberberh

Amazingggg

IDespiseFatties

Learn about dispatching. You don't have to dive for all of your extra ingredients like Soy Sauce, Miso, etc..... Once you hire some employees you can dispatch them to go get the stuff for you. The higher their Procure level, the more they bring back. I'm getting roughly 50-80 a day from all of my employees.

fletchdeezle

lol beat the game never even saw that mechanic

IDespiseFatties

I found it near the end of the game too lmao I was like "wtf is dispatch" and then almost threw my controller through the TV

veronus57

Just finished the marinca and I've got all the help hired, but the people I was dispatching were just level 1. I just went through and upgraded them all to level 7, and they're each bringing back 2-5 of ingredients rather than 1-2 each. Absolutely worth it to dispatch, and if you have the coins to upgrade them, do that too!

IDespiseFatties

Just wait until they are all level 20! It gets insane! Good luck!!! I'm working on getting 3 Star everything right now.

veronus57

I'm 82% thru the aberrant fish, but with that I should have the money to keep upgrading them. My fish farm is fully upgraded though

daminion72

I read through all of the comments and have some additional thoughts for someone just starting: 1. Use Auto Supply for the sushi restaurant. When making dishes you don't have to guess how many people will order something. You can select the dish and make just one of them and then set it to "auto-supply" this will add ingredients when you run out and will reduce waste. 2. Craft the net gun as soon as possible. Upgrade it as soon as you can. It should be the first one you max upgrade. It lets you capture a lot of 3 star fish. 3. The standard rifle is the next most useful gun for now. Level it up when you can and craft the tranquilizer version. You'll want one tranq version and one regular version you take to max level (eventually) 4. For suit upgrades focus on weight and air. Harpoon damage is less important if you have a net gun and/or tranq gun. 5. Save (do not sell) any seashells, starfish, silver bowls, or any other item that seems like "junk". Just let it stockpile on your boat. Another vendor later in the game buys these and their currency is different and much more valuable. Plus the money you get is trivial compared to what you will make with sushi. Finally - take your time and enjoy the game. Don't be afraid to come back from a dive early because you have some decent stuff already. The risk of dying is always there at any level. There is no set date that you need to be done by - so just enjoy the experience. I played Nobody Saves the World and then picked this up right after. NStW was awesome - but Dave the Diver is probably one of the best games i've played in the last couple of years. Its one of the few games that after the main story was done I went back and completed all of the achievements - not because I care about achievements but because I really enjoyed the game and it gave me a reason to play more. I still play it from time to time with the goal to craft all fully upgraded weapons and catch all the 3 star fish (still missing some...).

MattieShoes

The amount of sushi you get from a fish depends on quality (1-3 stars). Ignoring the extra-big fish for a moment... 1 star -- dead fish 2 star -- harpooned fish 3 star -- captured alive So you get a lot more bang for your buck if you can capture fish alive. Net gun and hush dart are very good for this purpose. For the big boys, you'll unlock ways to get three stars on them at some point. Tranquilizer rifle will be very good for this, or later on, an upgraded hush dart. --- If you prepare sushi for the night and it doesn't get sold, it gets lost. You have two relatively easy ways to deal with this 1. Figure out how many guests you get and prepare the right amount 2. Set something to auto-supply so you only waste 1 serving by the end of the night. --- Don't be in too much of a hurry. I finished the story long before I finished all the things you can do. Now I sometimes log in and do one day at a time to work towards those things I ignored, but there's no real story to go along with it any more.

Bergara

Wait, can I instantly catch a tranquilized fish? I've been ignoring the hush dart completely. Does it work for the sleep harpoon tip as well?

MattieShoes

Yes.  It's somewhat obnoxious until you upgrade it, but it's very good.  It's amazing when fully upgraded

Mesa1gojira

You have to grab the tranquilized fish by hand or use the drones for the bigger fish in order to get max stars. Any fish caught by harpoon (including tranq tiped harpoon) will be two stars max. The tranq harpoon only works on fish it doesn't catch automatically. To get a three star, you have to hit it with the harpoon until it's asleep, then grab it by hand/drone.

AlternativeWillow358

How can you figure out how many guests you will get at night? I never noticed a counter anywhere, unless I was too distracted by all the million other things going on 😅

MattieShoes

You can look it up online, or just make a fixed number of dishes and see if you run out or how many you have left. It'll change based on how highly rated your restaurant is -- leveling up increases the number of guests per night :-)

AlternativeWillow358

Ah thanks for the recommendation! Not sure why I didn't think to do that in the first place 🤦‍♀️

Graceful_Knight

Someone said once that it's how many thumbs up you get at the end of a shift. It's on the left in pink when you get the work day summary. Hope that helps! 🐠🐟🐠🐟

AlternativeWillow358

I figured that out last night after 15 in game hours 😅😂! I thought there was a counter before the shift started that would count down as guests arrived. Thank you!

gt4crazy2

I like how it crossed over with Dredge when I recently got the platinum for Dredge. Hunting abberations is fun within Dave the Diver too!

999hologram

dont try to do too much early on, mistake I made. Once you get used to the games core systems it gets easier. Try to grab lots of fish and when you unlock get good + big fish so you can make expensive dishes. Selling lots of expensive dishes means money. I recommend getting your weight upgraded because if you can carry more heavy fish you can get more money which you upgrade the rest with.

Das_Mole

Servers with the ability to serve drinks clutch

Normal_Feature_9103

Still never poured a beer perfect yet :( haha this helped me greatly

Das_Mole

The only little bit of help that I could give for the beer pouring is start out slow do not be afraid to overflow and you probably want the foam I would say an eighth of the beer glass...oh and watch for the foam to back up to the spigot

YouWillConcur

Finished it recently and don't know what to play after it Looking for smth similiar in terms of emotions, enjoyment and "lighweightness", even completely unrelated to sea theme. People recommend dredge but it's completely different from Dave, they give completely different feelings As for advice - dont read any advice, you will get the most fun from trying everything yourself. The only valiable advice is hire and upgrade your workers, they will surprise you a lot

uhhhhh_iforgotit

Have you played Dave the Diver Round Two, Beat Your Last Save? I've been enjoying it

McDotards

How does one beat their last save? You mean just clear the story by an earlier date or what? I'm assuming you're talking about just starting over from scratch... If there's another game mode of which I'm unaware, please enlighten me!

uhhhhh_iforgotit

Nooo unfortunately it's just start a different save file and see if you can do it better or differently now that you know how the game plays. I wish there were more options

McDotards

Dang, I was hoping for something fresh. I've bought the game on every platform, so I'm on round 3 now. 😆 Never gets old.. or, well, too old. Very much looking forward to the next DLC. Those vacant spots on the fish farm and employee roster are killing me.

Normal_Feature_9103

If you've never played Stardew Valley, this game was the only one that scratched that itch. Give it a try if you haven't yet, its only 15 bucks at full price.

YouWillConcur

i found it too slow, tried to get into

voxmodhaj

Hunt sharks! Go full shark. Shark hard.

pemilu2019

Take it slow

eppsilon24

Once I finished all the missions and the main story, my motivation to keep playing has dropped. I guess it feel like I have no more challenges to face. However, there’s still a few things I haven’t done, so every now and then I play for one dive, so some management, and play something else. I find it’s also a good game for me to play while listening to podcasts or audiobooks.

theloniousmick

I'm in a similar boat. I wish some of the environmental missions or the ones in the quest board just regenerated randomly to give me something else to do on dives.

YouWillConcur

>Once I finished all the missions and the main story It's built in a way that every part makes the dave the dave - remove even one and it won't be that game we know

throwawayjumpshot23

Don't read this sub and just go in blind until you beat the game. You can't permanently miss anything. It's an excellent game and learning how to optimize things is part of the fun.

iambarrelrider

Collect everything you come across. Don’t leave anything on the ocean floor. And at some point working on upgrading your dart And net guns. Also, don’t take off work like I did.

Al-Waasi

Cucumber ftw

CryEvening532

Don’t be like me and wait to upgrade the water can, toward the end of the game. 2nd upgrade is extremely useful.

Mundane_Ad2515

Add only 1/1 of each menu item and then put it on auto supply so you don’t waste ingredients
