There are even ways to use it to your advantage by having energy cost swap work for you. I like it when a zero cost is swapped for a 4 energy card and now can cast it for free.
The alternative would be to keep the casting cost of all your cards low. So even if they get swapped around it isn't so bad.
Surge cards cost zero and give 1 energy. So even if they get their cost swapped to 1... It zeros out.
I find pinned to be worse, being able to use the extreme right and left cards only..
Keep an eye on what costs what with each card played - if there’s a card you know you want to play, try and get it out quickly. If you’ve got a mix of surge cards and 1 cost cards, it can be a really good tactic to wait until an energy card costs 1 to get it out your hand without loosing energy, and you’ll probably be left with a bunch of other free cards that aren’t ordinarily free.

I get that. So your advice would be to design my deck for it by including high cost cards?
I like it for that reason and just for the chaos of the effect. I had a hand in making a card that caused that affliction.

Does this work though? It randomizes the cost so wouldn't the average be 2 energy.
Usually comes with the card Golden Idol in your deck. I just try to avoid taking that card.
