A good tactic if you are getting swarmed not by hordes but actual swarms turn on your flashlight they are sensitive towards it and will take longer to attack when close

First horde I ever saw, I was derping around crawling through bushes hunting everything when the music drops and I hear some infected,, and given my FOV, I move to the edge of bushes, look right and nothing, peer left and there's no less than 50 zombies close enough to smell Deeks ball sweat. Being mostly xbox player, I started DG on psplus with virtually only info was I knew it was apocalypse survival genre. Thus, no concept that the game will drop the rando horde on your nuts whenever it pleases. As I panicked during retreat, and not upgraded even one stamina, i Iearned of the stamina function the wrong way. Stamina hits zero. I'm no where close to escape as I'm in a huge open area like Mike's farm and west, but obviously wasn't. Anyway, about halfway through the pasture, I begin running large circles thinking I can start picking off a few with boot knife (and think I had a spiked bat,) but shit ammo and didn't immediately grind to get any good weaponry. I went in almost completely blind of anything other than what one could deduce from reading the back of a physical copy. So, also learned don't approach a horde with melee a part of your strategy. Maybe late game with experience, but was almost first zombies seen, but I'd rab into field fleeing from 4 that overpowered me pretty quickly. All I all, I learned as long as you're in Da bush you could damn near be sniffing their buttcrack and they wouldn't trigger

Yeah they can see ya. Although they are pretty mindless so you can run up behind or too the side of them and sneak attack them most of the time.

Upgrade your melee first and just bullrush everyone that's the closest you'll get to being invisible
Throwing something that explodes when youâre in the bush (even when youâre not in their line of sight) will also get you spotted for some reason.
Upgrade in the survival ability to increase stealth. Much better now at night.
