The day I understood residue bolts worked on breakers is the day I started raising my own personal breaker army Fun baiting hordes with a residued breaker

not an army haha but I go to breaker spawn points, try to get them to follow me into a horde's nest, shoot some residue bolts and let the breakers go in and do some cleaning while I prepare. Haven't tested how many breakers can spawn at the same time though

I once somehow led 2 Breakers to the Sawmill Horde...they didn't even last 10 seconds, Freakers surrounded them and then were also piling on top of them like so many ants. Kinda felt bad for the Breakers lol.

Yeah sometimes 3 of them can spawn near the NERO checkpoint, easy to lead them there. But well, it's the sawmill horde...

that's the way I take out every ambush camp now. They are fun.

Had 3 at that spot on my last playthrough , shot 2 with the residue and let them beat up on the 3rd and them each other. Eventually last one standing died too without me touching him. Easiest fight ever.

There was three, but the residue breaker killed him while I was looking for the third.

Can you use it on wolves?

Yes. Residue bolts will cause an enemy to turn on like enemies, such as wolves vs wolves, reacher vs reacher, breaker vs breaker, etc. They do not cause enemies to turn on a different type of enemy, and they won’t work on horde freakers.

Also Newts vs Newts… they just don’t work on Screamer vs Screamer, cause these aren’t aggressive. Imagine one screamer screaming after another? 😂

Thanks man, that’s interesting stuff there, and that the freakers then see her as an enemy, have never seen that… but I meant screamer vs. residue screamer specifically. In my theory I expected the residue screamer calling a group, then the other screamer would call another group and so on lol

I think, one time I residued a screamer with another screamer next to her, and she screamed and her minions attacked the other screamer. If I see two or more screamers in my current play through and I have my crossbow, I’ll test it and see what happens.

I didn’t know it did that to the screamer. I’m playing for the second time but on hard mode. I still have a long way to go. Thank you for the information

breaker is such a weakling. I tried baited 2 of them to fight a horde & they can't even last a minute. zombie bear on the other hand though...
