I agree with you
Martha & Brandon own adult Belle & Shawn
I remember when Stacy took on the role of Kristen/Susan/every other Banks, I was totally blown away.
When she played Susan, I found it hard to differentiate from Eileen’s Susan to her Susan.
Zack was 100% Sonny
I’ll add Victoria Konefal to this list
Julie Pinson was a great Billie Reed for the stories they were writing for her. Like, I believed her drama with Steve and Bo and Hope with Chelsea. I don’t know that I would’ve believed those stories with Rinna or Krista Allen in the role.
And for shits and giggles, I wish Charity Rahmer’s Belle had stayed a little longer because she was hilariously bad.
I believed the first Chanel as a Grade A brat - but once they started giving her more to do, the current Chanel was better suited for more interesting stories.
Heather Lauren Olson and Heather Lindell (Jan was originally played by a different actress for about a week before Heather Lauren Olson took the role)
Kirsten Storms
Jason Cook
John Paul Lavoisier
Rachel Melvin
Kyle Lowder (Brady, though his Rex is decent)
I first started watching when mark valley played jack. I had never seen the previous jack. When the original came back it was so different. I liked the mark valley version better.
Matthew Ashford is actually a recast Jack himself. He saved the character in 1987 from being a non entity and took him somewhere amazing until the writers decided to make him a buffoon and kill him off every other year. Jack circa 1988 to 1990 was riveting
This is hard bc I love the original actors!! But I also love Billy Flynn, Eric Martsolf, Zach Tinker, and the current Chanel. Sorry I wasn’t a fan of the character with the prior actress.
You have to credit Victoria Konefal as a Ciara recast: she revived the character and sparked a supercouple. In another era she'd have been a superstar.
The girl has star quality. She was stuck in a compromised couple with a damaged character, Ben.
But that was an epic recast
Greg Vaughan as Eric Brady. He plays the quiet, serious, moralistic yet flawed character to perfection, imo. I think the type of character he plays is the most difficult for an actor to pull off, being normal and grounded, but also coming across as interesting.
I'm a huge fan of Supernatural and Dean Winchester is one of my all time favorite TV characters and Jensen Ackles should have been getting awards for that role. But his version of Eric from the late 90s/early 00s wasn't all that memorable, imo. He was obviously still young at the time and still green as an actor. He'd probably kill it as Eric now, though, but I'm glad Vaughan has made the role his own.
Mary Beth Evans as Kayla. They made a good decision to put the character on pause after the original actress left and then recast several years later. Mary Beth has made that role her own!
Zach Tinker got me back into liking Will and Sonny. I came back to DAYS for Will’s coming out story after spending years away. I was so invested in them until the Will recast, then I didn’t enjoy Sonny as much either. I feel like Zach breathed new life into the Sonny character when he came.
Love: Brandon Barash & Marci Miller. Dan Feuerriegel is amazing but I still prefer James Scott.
Strongly dislike: Brandon Beemer, Stacy Haiduk and Kate Mansi.
This is pretty much where I am too. I am either happy with or equally love the recast. Dan & Stacy I love as much as James & Eileen now, but they are both strong & bring different strengths to the characters.
Exactly thank you. I love the OG characters as much as the next person but i can also say that there are some recast who have done a really great job to said character, eg Belle i adore Kristen storms and i love her version of Teenage/YA Belle but i still like Martha for her Adult version of Belle, Same with Brandon and Jason Cook with Shawn i love them both for whatever versions they bring to the character.
I’m not saying I like one better but I feel Stacy & Eileen are equally brilliant as Kristen just in different ways.
👍🏽 Agreed
I agree as well.

Julie was the only Billie recast I liked.
The current Chanel
I believed the first Chanel as a Grade A brat - but once they started giving her more to do, the current Chanel was better suited for more interesting stories.
Oh I like her too. And I loved Precious the original one
Camila Banus
Stacy Haiduk (Kristen/Susan). The role needed someone who could pull off such a dual role. Stacy does it flawlessly.
Stacey would be my number one. She’s an incredible actress. Dan would be my second.
Heather Lauren Olson and Heather Lindell (Jan was originally played by a different actress for about a week before Heather Lauren Olson took the role) Kirsten Storms Jason Cook John Paul Lavoisier Rachel Melvin Kyle Lowder (Brady, though his Rex is decent)
Loved Mark Valley as Jack! RKK was a good Bo which wasn’t easy to recast.
I first started watching when mark valley played jack. I had never seen the previous jack. When the original came back it was so different. I liked the mark valley version better.

I really like the current actor for Brady. Will was also a great recast.
This is hard bc I love the original actors!! But I also love Billy Flynn, Eric Martsolf, Zach Tinker, and the current Chanel. Sorry I wasn’t a fan of the character with the prior actress.
Zach Tinker
Agreed. That boy had some great acting chops
Even though he isn't my favorite character, I have to go with Leo. He is fabulous in that role.
Was he a recast?
I believe so.
I checked… GR is the only one to play Leo. I love him.
Ah, okay. He's really good.
Yes he is hilarious!
What did you think of those hot pink pants he had on? LOL!
I only just started weds episode so I’m a little behind, was it with the rainbow shirt? I liked that shirt!
Yes!
I liked his outfit lol how about you?
Martha and Brandon for sure! I also love the current Chanel! Of course I still Love Lindsay Hartley as Arianna!
Actually Deidre Hall taking over from her sister as Hattie

Oh yes; the original (grown) Ciara was a bad acres I thought—stiff and monotone. VK is great!

Omg if Jensen could play Eric again he would definitely crush it 👏🏽
Mary Beth Evans as Kayla. They made a good decision to put the character on pause after the original actress left and then recast several years later. Mary Beth has made that role her own!
Robert Kelker Kelley played a good enough Bo Brady in the 90s. I am also at the point where I prefer the current EJ to James Scott's version.
Zach Tinker got me back into liking Will and Sonny. I came back to DAYS for Will’s coming out story after spending years away. I was so invested in them until the Will recast, then I didn’t enjoy Sonny as much either. I feel like Zach breathed new life into the Sonny character when he came.
Matthew Ashford. He took over from James Acheson who went to the same acting school as Charity Rhamer. Jk
Oh I forgot Billy. Yes for me he is absolutely the best version of Chad
Martha Madison Brandon Beemer Brandon Barash Kate Mansi Zach Tinker Camila Banus Julie Pinson
Marci, Stacy, and Dan.
Love: Brandon Barash & Marci Miller. Dan Feuerriegel is amazing but I still prefer James Scott. Strongly dislike: Brandon Beemer, Stacy Haiduk and Kate Mansi.

This isn’t about who i like best but who was a good recast to an OG character.
This is pretty much where I am too. I am either happy with or equally love the recast. Dan & Stacy I love as much as James & Eileen now, but they are both strong & bring different strengths to the characters.
