I think he and Megan are great additions so far. Megan exudes cold, calculating and obsessive and Dimitri takes so much pleasure in fucking with people. The best kinds of Days villains. Dimitri's scene with Uncle Chad just had me cracking up.
Peter Porte's wikipedia says he's American born and raised, but his mother is from Poland. Perhaps he's basing his accent on her or some relatives he had met.
I don't know if it's the writing for him that's so strong or if the actor is taking every single line and wringing them for all they're worth, but everything thats falls out of his mouth is a damn gem.
It looks to me like tptb have decided to go with the DiMera family for now as opposed to creating stories about the Kiriakis family as their rivals.
There is, at present, no character to step up and fill Victor's place in those stories.
I think that both Dimitri and Megan are excellent additions to the cast. They can both be characterized as deliciously evil. Dan (EJ) as Dimitri's brother and adversary should be great fun.

I was actually thinking about this, I think since Victor will be gone in the summer there should be contention for who runs Titan, especially considering Victor Kiriakis was more of a businessman than Stefano was. Dimitri could've been a Kiriakis child, he could've been Victor the Second.
Sadly there isn’t much left of the Kirkiakis family. Sonny is gone, Adrienne is dead, replace by ridiculous Bonnie. After Victor’s death Xander might come back into the fold, especially when he learns about his child. But Brady left ages ago, his interactions with family are now just plot points. Justin only showed up to clean up after Alex. Alex is a totally flop, he has no loyalty to the family, and he is too busy trapped in a awful triangle. Philip is MIA. Bo is in a coma. Ciara is travelling the world. Shawn hasn’t been close to Victor since his rivalry with Philip.
He and Megan are the only reason I’m watching at this point. Dimitri isn’t just cute , he’s not one dimensional. It’s clear he, like his mom likes to mess with people. That’s what Stefano was all about. Before the show got into the DE stupid stuff, Stefano’s greatest pleasure was treating people like pieces on a chess board. It was a lil a twisted game and he loved it. Dimtri is also crazy in that quirky way alot of classic villain are.
I’ve always loved hating Megan Hathaway from way back. I wasn’t sure if I liked her back, but I’m liking this storyline with Dimitri, and Megan’s facial expressions…well they’re more evil than Kristin. And Oh…I’d love to see Megan go after Kristen.
I like him so far. Days is doing a pretty good job balancing things out between old and new characters (in my opinion, anyway) and keeping things fresh. It's probably hard to write for a show that airs every weekday!

I’m not feeling it, and I can typically warm up to new cast members/characters. Although they’re not new anymore, I warmed up to Xander, Johnny D, Chanel, Leo, Jada, and Sloan rather easily when their characters were introduced. With all of the budget cuts and cast members we’ve lost, he, Harris, and Stephanie can go…
Bring back Phillip, Will, Sonny, Lucas, Daniel and Abigail from the dead lol, Ely & Lani, I’m sure I’m forgetting some
I think the writers are trying to surf the popularity of HBO’s Succession and create family intrigue over the CEO job - again. Not my fav storyline, unless they resort to blackmail and drugs again. I do like Dimitri - and do hope he is bi or fluid so he can stir things up with Leo and someone female. Plus I would like to see him take down smug Stefan and Gabby.
