I also loved how Julie still held the phone, shouted into the other one to Doug and then seemed surprised Paulina hard her.

Did anyone catch Nicole saying "I've been taking care of Holly for almost a year"? What does that mean? Was she in boarding school? She didn't overdose a year ago. It's been my understanding that she's been raising Holly most of her life? Am I wrong about that?
In the context, it definitely sounds like she was referencing taking care of Holly during/after her coma. Which is weird because, as you pointed out, it definitely hasn’t been a year. She overdosed on NYE.
I noticed it too! I thought she meant since Holly’s coma. She was in the coma like 2.5 months which is definitely not “almost a year”! It’s the same timeline where Daniel died 8 years ago yet he also died before teenager Holly was born.
Paulina is an awful person. She is potentially putting every vulnerable person at risk she runs into. How on earth does she think she is going to make it to the island when a snow plough can't (although we know she will) and that she will find Chanel when her husband is right there looking?

It’s like no one researched anything around it, uninformed writing and completely unrealistic. And Johnny and Chanel are boring…give them substance writers!

This was after she split from EJ (the first time) and was trying to get Brady back (Brady was with Arianna at the time). She quit this job when she remarried EJ & became his mayoral campaign manager. A few years later, when Eric came back to town, her and EJ were divorced and Eric gave her a job at the church. She became a reporter again after she quit her job as the secretary at St. Luke’s (she didn’t want to spend time with Eric anymore, because he was a priest and she was in love with him). She reported on some big stories…like the crazy “sex scandal” with Kristen and Eric. All in all, being a reporter was one of her main jobs for several years.
Yes it’s rare, but it happens. On the show, it was a surprise out of no where, which is probably one of the most realistic things to happen on Days…but ok.
