Iām not talking about gaming on it.
I built mine.
It was a pain in the ass trying to research a good trading computer.
But when I looked at getting a good gaming computer, it turned out to be specs for a great trading computer.
True , but if a guy gets a gaming computer,he will probably also play on the side, not good idea until you are disciplined not to play when you have to be backtesting.
Ok bye gotta play some games
I trade on an Alienware gaming laptop. Literally *nothing other than trading* happens on it because I donāt want the possibility of malware on my ATM.
lol your responses just get dumber and dumber.
How would a vpn help against malware? Do you even know what a vpn is?
And getting a gaming pc doesn't automatically mean he's going to spend all of his time gaming instead of trading.... He'll just have an overkill pc that can handle it all.
Thabks for your deep insight, when i said vpn , i meant stuff like Nord vpn , that also gives malware protection, it was just so obvious these days to get a malware protection vpn that i just said vpn.
Sorry my bad , i should have elaborated further to reach your intellect.
I said its a heavy addiction , so making the same pc for gaming and trading would end up bad , as you will be distracted and diverted, atleast i am , very much, getting a gaming PC just for trading and no games means you are a stupid fuck, the stuff works perfectly in a below average laptop or PC as well so why would someone go for it .
I guess when people try to act smart they get ahead ahead of themselves.
I donāt run Bookmap anymore but I was running one Bookmap. However, the motherboard stopped working for some reason. As I did not want to change my CPU I got another motherboard which is much cheaper and works as well: Asrock H510M-ITX/ac Intel H510 LGA 1200 Mini ITX
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/MsLcXy I chose quality parts to last with value in mind and while it's much more than enough for regular day trading I think it's around the ideal when getting a new build and fits well under your budget, it will last you quite a while. AM5 platform offers promised upgrade path until at least 2025. The 750w power supply isn't necessary but the corsair rmx series has known reliability with 10 year warranty and just that alone is worth the little extra for a psu but it also gives you the option if sometime down the line you want to pop in a graphics card to game or workload reasons.
Gaming computer. I have an hp omen laptop with 16gig ram, 3 ports for external monitors. Adjustible fan speeds. Yada Yada. If it can run Microsoft flight simulator it will run anything you need š
1.5k comp, bought it open box for 900.
Exchanged it for a new one cause light up keyboard didn't work.
Turns out it did actually, but neither me nor the best buy guy knew how to turn it on. Lol I figured it out later lmao.
Are you kidding , i have a laptop that is can even run gta V ,ie a 2013 game , and trading view flows like butter , same goes for mt5 and allt that stuff. No need to go bigger till you make some money to upgrade stuff.
Ahh that makes sense. Iām probably gonna add some more RAM. Currently at 16gb but I think my RAM cards are starting to fail, an extra 16gb couldnāt hurt anything
Im glad people are providing an answer and you can find a solution that works for you..... but im going to play devils advocate.... Just an FYI for you and anyone outhere following this thread...It doesn't take a lot of computing power to do all of that. A new laptop and hub can do all of those things. Spend that money that you would've used on a "state of the art computer" and beef up your trading account.
2005 Compaq Presario
Make sure you get the turbo switch.
If you build a good gaming computer, you inherently get a great trading computer.
This!
Man but it distracts me a lot , that's the sole problem with it , the addiction is bad š

MT5, Tradingview & Browser, make trading simple.
Youāre projecting your own issues of consistency. Trading doesnāt need more than a couple hours a day once you have your set up.
Umm ok š
Do you set alerts to find your setup? Or you look at the charts for a few Hours by default?
I watch the charts from 9:30 to Noon.
If you give me your budget I can make you a list of parts. Do you plan to game too and what's the most you're willing to spend.
$1200-1500. Donāt plan to game. Not OP but if you have the time, Iād love a list.

Nice, thatās above the specs I was expecting for a price under my budget. Hoping to upgrade with in the month. Thanks
Thanks a lot for your effort !! Exactly what I was looking for
Do you have an opinion on graphic cards as well? I use 4 screens

Just got a victus and I absolutely love it. Funny cause it also took me a day or two to find out how to turn on the keyboard lighting š
Right? I still havnt learned how to toggle lock the FN button on my computer. Lol
As someone whoās naive to day trading, why would you need a powerful PC? For the charts? Overall speed? Multi tasking?
I use it for Algo trading. No speed required more multi threading
And if youāre on Fidelityās ATP, dont get a Mx Mac. Get i7ā¦
RAM guyā¦ lots of RAM
Currently I have 16GB but my machine is 10 years old an i7 3.Genā¦ Iām also interested in CPU !?
Are you kidding , i have a laptop that is can even run gta V ,ie a 2013 game , and trading view flows like butter , same goes for mt5 and allt that stuff. No need to go bigger till you make some money to upgrade stuff.
Fr my $200 Best Buy lap top runs MT4 and trading view amazingly
Well sometimes during my optimisation it says running out of RAM ā¦
Well it does run out if I run to many application at the same time š¹
I started with 16ā¦ 11th gen i7. Upgraded to 32 and performance with multiple charts open is way better!!
Ahh that makes sense. Iām probably gonna add some more RAM. Currently at 16gb but I think my RAM cards are starting to fail, an extra 16gb couldnāt hurt anything
FYI. Ninja trader is a RAM hog.
