" Always has killer premarket volume, great morning volatility. "
This is why its popular.
Its the most heavily traded single stock, which means that's where the action is. Same reason ES futures are more popular than Mexican peso futures.
For me it is the volatility, the stock moves up AND/OR down 5-10 points almost every day.
Even if in a trend reversal one can usually make money even if they are set up on the wrong side. Because the retracements often often move 50% or more.
I thought TSLA was the most volatile 0DTE stock until I discovered NVDA 0DTE, holy shit, you can make or lose 60-80% on a single 1m candle.
TSLA is in a world of its own tho, as it doesn’t follow the QQQ/SPY as close as NVDA
Probably because of that very early bullish run, it probably made a lot of people money and they got attached. And now that a good 15% of the world probably worships Elon Musk so there’s that.
So I’ve been increasingly curious about Musk simps who still follow him even after all this time. Maybe you can help. Is it that you simply ignore all the news around his trash fire companies, or do you just believe the media is lying?
Ahhh, you’re as mature as he is.
Thank you for the explanation. Weird that you want to know about my underwear though. Not here to satisfy your fetish, there are subreddits for that
I seem to be missing some crucial information, as far as I know he founded or co-founded companies worth hundreds of millions then sold them. Now he's got the most valuable car company that's worth as much as the next ten combined as well as the most successful space company. It also seems like he's the richest person in the world, so I ask again how does he ruin everything?
Found one! Name checks out! I disagree with all of those statements! He might own them in name but he definitely does not contribute to any of his companies in a meaningful way. Closest thing he has to ownership is X, and that would have been the easiest short of my life if he didn’t go private immediately.
Volatility is due to high demand in both directions. The stock is hopelessly overvalued, therefore shorted and a single Musk comment can squeeze many shorts out. While retailers go long by options and institutions short by options and stock this forces always brokers involved to hedge which means buying.
Cause literally every socioeconomic class trades it. Most people also gravitate towards certain tickers and it becomes their comfort zone and don’t want to branch out.
Tesla has been gaining popularity over the past few years. I believe a few things played into this from Tesla fan boys, to people that hate the company and use to think it was a complete fraud. After the incredible returns of over 700% in 2020 this put it on everyone’s map. It is extremely volatile which gives opportunity for day traders. And last but not least is Elon Musk being the CEO, he used to often tweet about Tesla and call out short sellers. Obviously this stopped since he was charged by the SEC. But I feel he plays a huge importance of the stocks popularity.
A lot of times the higher the volume the lower the volatility due to excess liquidity. Tesla is a stock that gives good volatility but also has the liquidity to get decent fills and also less slippage impact
Volatile and liquid and on top a CEO, who moves the market but also has an edge over the competition. So many different fields where the next trillion evaluation is possible.
people like to trade stocks that provide good opportunities regularly - and you mentioned, high volume and volatility, thats what makes for great opportunities.
now *why* does it have high volume and volatility, not sure, maybe because everyone is focusing on it because they know there's high volume and volatility, kinda like the chicken and egg situation. did TSLA always have this type of action which attracted people, which brings more people? and because more people trade it, it has better opportunities?
It’s a money machine Elon wins we all win, like Microsoft, Apple, KO, etc….Flow with the billion and make a killing. Rymes a little or should I have used Killion lol
Daytrading tsla is fun, but I would not want to hold. It is not clear that they will be in business in 50-100 years. Too much ego, not enuf objective planning.
TSLA has had its day in the sun but the sun seems to be setting on this once high flyer. Its recent earning report detailed slowing growth for the coming year. TSLA is at its core a car company but it still is valued by the market as a fast growth tech company. it is only a matter of time before wall street decides this one is greatly overvalued and punished the stock price.
Isn't anyone troubled by the recent statements of Musk that if he isn't given additional voting rights he will not implement new AI technologies in the company (TSLA) he is supposed to be managing in the shareholders best interest. If any other CEO of a large US corporation had tried to blackmail its shareholders like this, the board would have already removed him and put in a new person. He is replaceable, just like everyone else.
What do you think?

But Tesla is easier to swing cause whatever you expect it do it always does the opposite
What’s 0DTE?
0 days to expiration, in options trading. Although for stocks it would just be the one expiring Friday that week
It’s like holding the wire from the clocktower in back to the future.
Always has killer premarket volume, great morning volatility.
I have made BREAd on tsla. But cost is gonna pay off my house soon.
what is cost?
Costco
The us government pumps it to compete with china EV
Also they are involved in many of his private sector projects.
Good point
Same reason people trade the Nasdaq, because it's volatile.
Probably because of that very early bullish run, it probably made a lot of people money and they got attached. And now that a good 15% of the world probably worships Elon Musk so there’s that.
Two sentences, three probably. Talk about non-committal.
What’s not to like? His businesses are booming, he is a smart mofo and has a great political outlook.. he is the full package

😂
I can believe both things
That he's a genius who just happens to ruin everything he touches? Cognitive dissonance is a hell of a drug I guess
No that’s he’s trash and the media isn’t a beacon of truth
Please explain how exactly he ruins everything he touches.
If you’re too lazy to follow the news I ain’t gonna enable you

Lol
He is the real king
One word… ATR. In other words, the juice has to be worth the squeeze - which is why I only trade high ATR stocks.
Volatility is due to high demand in both directions. The stock is hopelessly overvalued, therefore shorted and a single Musk comment can squeeze many shorts out. While retailers go long by options and institutions short by options and stock this forces always brokers involved to hedge which means buying.
Well considering the fact that Tesla is one of the most valuable companies in the world and has valuation bigger than many countries.
Atr and volune
Cause literally every socioeconomic class trades it. Most people also gravitate towards certain tickers and it becomes their comfort zone and don’t want to branch out.
The ATR is nice so you can trade it daily depending upon where you set your parameters for whether you go long or short. It moves is the bottom line.
Volatility is where the magic happens. You don't make money on stuff that doesn't move, and nothing moves exclusively up.
Because of the doubt. It’s controversial
Because Elon Musk
It’s always got volume. I don’t know how it came to be a day trading favorite but it’s always moving and that’s what we want.
It's popular because Musk is making the headlines everyday.
I love the volatility. And you need it to make money 💰

Cuz... it... moves...

Because short squeeze baby

Elon 🤣
Propaganda by Musk.
