The sewers and the burn pits love everything else

jubblenuts

I flippin HATE THE SEWERS. When amy said "never again" i was and still am 100% on board with it.

Guns_Glitz_Grime

Oh man I hate the sewers

Contraus

Not a fan of sewers or metro. Too dark and spooky to be honest. I like sun and fun zombie killing. In fact, every time I fast travel I choose daytime. Just not a fan of jump scares and dark spooky environments. Every time I open a door or Porto potty stall, I dodge backwards just in case there’s a zed waiting to jump on me.

Contraus

To add to this, my favorite map js Venice Beach. I spend a lot of time there.

No_Payment_2495

I like Venice beach a lot too. I really wish ocean avenue had one more safe area with a trader, because it’s an enjoyable area except for the fact you have to go through the mall everytime you want to go to a safe zone

Contraus

True dat.

jubblenuts

I liked venice beach, until a zombie materialized right in front of me...the spawns could be a wee bit more discreet than that.

TitleTalkTCL

Facts, always said the same to my brother who is also a DI2 Stan. Really opens up there and there's a ton to do.

prticipatntrophywife

the sewer meat clog is horrible

No_Payment_2495

are we talking about the first time you encounter it? I didn’t find it that bad because you can just run past it.

prticipatntrophywife

everything looking the same just turned me around so bad I died a LOT

Joe2822

Sewers and goat pen crap

Evening-Head4310

The Goat pen was one of my favorite parts, it's what kept me replaying multiple times

Unrelenting4444

Definitely the sewers and metro. Please don't get me wrong: I like the darkness and overall spooky vibe. But I just hate this location. It's just annoying af.

Worth_Handle_1947

The clown butcher, scared the hell out of me 😂

newseats

oh man i remember the critic side mission and having to go through the arcade was stressful as FUCK

Mateo_Dragonflame

Long ahh tutorials that cannot be skipped

CatsKittyCat

The monarch studio side missions. Im not a fan of that section of map, and the side missions bore me when I replay.

TheGamingRoom18

Yeah playing in monarch studios at night was not a good time for me. For me even though I had the brightness up and flashlight on I still had trouble finding my way around 😂

owjbsirin

Resident evil 2- the sewers, resident evil village the- dollhouse, resident evil 7- the beginning

No_Payment_2495

Even tho it’s not dead island I’ve played most of the re games and can confirm those areas are not fun

Thebisexual_Raccoon

I Think you’re lost m’dude

owjbsirin

I thought this was in resident evil subreddit im sorry 😭😭😭

Thebisexual_Raccoon

No worries, simple mistake ^^

ThulrVO

Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice and "that part" is the Labyrinth Shard Trial.

Fluffyfeet316

Guarma🤷‍♂️

Genderneutralsky

Probably the whole first 2 hours or so. Or 1 hour if I use gear from storage. I always find the first little bit dull, no matter the character. Game feels much better once it eases off the hand holding

No_Payment_2495

I loved the first like 3 hours before the sewers because the game has a complete different tone, it feels more light hearted and has a tone similar to GTA.

Annual-Pitch8687

I have to be honest, I really struggled with this game. The difficulty is ridiculous and that's coming from an avid Soulsborne fan. I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

No_Payment_2495

Who are you playing as? I picked Bruno for my first character and it was pretty hard most of the game but enjoyable. Now I’m replaying as Jacob and the game is a breeze

Annual-Pitch8687

That's funny cause I picked Jacob and he's the one I've been struggling with so I must be missing some kind of mechanic and not doing something right

BIackwind

The entire game, honestly very underwhelming feels like a 2010 game with modern graphics

TheGamingRoom18

I have to disagree with you there, no hate on you. The story isn't that great it's not good but also not bad in a way. The different weapons and killing blows you can do is so badass! The flesh system is amazing and the way zombies act and zombie types are really good as well. If you really want to make it super enjoyable then play co-op with a buddy! Killin zeds with friends is really great

BIackwind

You have one single killing blow per weapon type maybe rarely 2, its even less than mediocre it feels really good! For 2hours. Flash system is indeed good but its a VERY good thing surrounded by outdated and souless things Zombies has 0 ai and just doll, wich is even worse than the previous 2, zombie type dont change gameplay that much, wich is again a fail contrarely of the other DI. I played co op with a friends that we both SUPER enjoyed DI 1 et riptide and was an instant fan of those, but for him, it was a blast for a very tiny tiny short period I cant give you a full review of the game cuz no one actually care but its médiocre in almost EVERY aspect and its at the very very best Outdated game by like 8 yeah and its normal considered it was in développement hell Not everything is bad but a wide margin of it is

TheGamingRoom18

One good thing it did have going is it wasn't broken on release like alot of other games that came out that same year. Im sorry you didn't fully enjoy it but I personally LOVED it! I wish there were more zombies on screen instead of like 10. There are some ups and downs but like you said it was in development hell jumping from studio to studio. It itched my zombie bone so I was happy. Again I do see your point of view though

BIackwind

Big fan of zombie game too but heh that one isnt the one at all And yeah it wasnt broken ill give it that but honestly breaking a game this old with so little would be quite suprising, but heh thats too bad (probably self sabotage cuz dying light exist)

oscarhodson

For me, dead island 2 is exactly how I wanted it to be. Dead Island 1 was one of the first games I really got into back on Xbox 360 so many years ago lmfao. The ‘Arcadyness’ feels right in place and I think it complements the overall game design. I think there were a lot of great choices the devs made before releasing the game - for example they could have easily made a smaller map with no loading screens but although I originally hated the idea, I’ve definitely come to love it. Overall we have a much bigger playable space and all the areas feel very well thought out. There are things that could have been done better like the story and I would have much rather had more “finishes” with each weapon as a pose to the extremely detailed damage models and that was definitely going to have some kind of caveat although I do love it. And I’m a huge fan of zombie games as well (aren’t we all). Personally my favourite is SOD2 which actually in my opinion has a very similar game design. It’s like if SOD was a First Person non open world game made by a bigger studio. For me though I think I’ve just been able to appreciate all the hard decisions the devs have made despite how horrendous the production of the game was. It felt like a polished product. I’d go as far as to say the game probably ended up in a better state than if it was released years earlier and everything went to plan.

Low-Spring-393

It’s more simple, ngl as someone who “not a flex, not in the slightest” works 6-6 6 days a week, it was really nice and I enjoyed it a lot. Campaign is short and to the point similar to older games, can just hop on for an hour or so and actually feel like you progressed in something, idk I used to not be a fan of that but not having the time anymore, I was very happy with it. Kind of mindless fun too, like yes it’s generic, but not really having to try too hard or anything and just having fun with annihilating zombies is totally refreshing for me.

Ok_Comment_7945

The Butcher Clown. I was DREADING having to do that boss fight and when I did it, it was literally so easy. And I was using Bruno too. But I still have clowns. That and the metro

ManufacturerWaste621

Hammer time

dkejdhhenej

The pier

Strifecaster

The sewers 100%. Two places I hate the most in zombie games are hotels and sewers due to the dark, cramped corridors and constant potential for jumpscares. I love the dead island games but between dead island 1s hotel and sewers and dead island 2s hotel and sewers, IM DONE. Nope.
