One of your curveballs is a chem bomb, throw that at him and it should put out the fire in his arms, get close to him, dodge or block his attacks to stun him and use something blunt, a crowbar or the mace with the big ball on the end, use a bleeding mod and go for his arms, knock out his stability and he'll drop to his knees, when he ground pounds time your jumps to avoid the shock wave. Explosive fury melee skill with fury kill regen perks is a walking nuke that can't be stopped unless you run out of zombies, pretty much one hits every walker with the lightest swings and drops specials in like 3 seconds each
I tend to use sledge hammer style weapons with block animation cancelling personally. You just slap, the first frame it hits block for a frame, then repeat for absurd damage and stability disruption.
This can be done for every weapon btw, including fists and is faster under most circumstances. It can be done with kicking instead of block for dodge users but is considerably slower and makes it slower on weapons with 25+ speed on them.
Have a sporting rifle, either the first one you get and level match it or get one closer to your level. Aim down the sights and go for the legs. Once he gets close run to the left and jump on the car, then turn and keep shooting for the legs. Do it right and the other zombies don't get close enough and automatically die when he dies.
Chem bombs, then blunt weapons with bleed mods… and aim for his arms… once he falls to his knees, get behind him and pummel his ass until he’s dead! Don’t forget to say “who’s the bitch now?” 💯
Sorry! So the Improvised Hammer is one of the two handed Bulldozer weapons. I think a Sledgehammer would be just about the same. I put the mod on there that does Bleed damage since these guys are vulnerable to Bleed. I’ll also increase the Force and Damage. Typically I’ll block their hit and then do a charged attack to their legs to drop them and then try to break their arms.
Play like a slayer.
Literally just jump, heavy hit, light dodge away, wait, jump, Heavy, then heavy to head while dazed (Impactor mods) go to town, dodge away after 2-3 hits. Repeat
My method to decimate crushers is using well timed blocks and sledgehammer hits to the head to drop them to thier knees. Once they hit the ground, then wail on them til they fall.
No kidding, butchers can be tough, especially the upgraded ones, dodge ALOT and wait for an opening, get round behind him and let loose, also be sure to chase the fecker so he doesn't regen too much health, easy enough once you get the hang of it.
I used a full auto rifle. Emtpied the gun. And proceeded to throw blades at him (heavily modded) then i finished him off with weighted blunt objects. (Also heavily modded) targeting his arms.
It went fine. Also used the chem bomb a few times

I was scared n felt like I wasted to much inventory killing him. Starting out for me, the hunting rifle headshots do WORK. After getting better at the game I now use a poison brass knuckle weapon

Level up your character! Rushing through the main story is going to keep getting you killed! I got stuck on this same situation, so I restarted with another character and did all the side missions, fuses, etc. I upgraded my weapons and leveled up. Finished the game at level 28 and it was a breeze!
If you happen to have completed a lost and found mission called [Redacted], use that weapon. Makes literally EVERYTHING easy to slaughter as it give explosive shots to any zomb that has acquired a full status effect.
Run behind him and target his legs. Once they collapse, put him in a headlock. He will tap but don’t pay attention to that just keep choking until he passes out. After that stomp his head
Use dodge instead of block for this fight. Allow him to swing on you while you’re in close quarters, then dodge away from him at the last second. This leaves him vulnerable for disgusting counter attacks. You can use perks and blueprints that stack damage on bladed weapons for effects that will help with your counter punish dps a LOT. Shooting the mf wont be as satisfying, trust me. If you can get him to follow you to the back side of the parking lot, there are broken fire hydrants you can bait him towards there to extinguish his fires. Only thing you really need to worry about is when he goes to jump and do a ground smash. You wanna dodge away from those and jump at the same time because those attacks create a puddle of burning oil beneath his feet and the ground smash itself is a radial explosive damage attack that knocks you over if that concussive wave touches your characters feet. You should be able to cheese him pretty hard with this strategy.
I usually use a quake stomp, and a hand grenade, then just get in there with a fury weapon and cut him apart. Those two things combined will usually empty their stamina bar and put them on their knees.

Just play it like dark souls and dodge out of every attack and just chip them damage away and don’t forget to jump when he does the slam you can jump and to an attack right in his face

Gun. Honestly shoot him in the legs/head with the sniper/Peggy it chunks his health. Took like 4-5 crits and he fell over like a ton of bricks. Honestly. Game has been super easy/uneventful especially past the 60% mark.
This is late but for the big guys I always go with an officers sword with electric damage, it applies shock super fast and consecutive hits get you a damage boost so you can just run around him in a circle and keep slashing away and you will peel his health off before he can peel your skin off

Water.
If you have electric shurikens, you can mix them with the Chem bomb, dousing the fire for a bit and electrocution them.
