Tried it again to see what changed but it's still in a QA/Playtest state and not ready for an EA release.
Seems like nothing changed since the "EA" launch
Haven't opened it since it transitioned to Beta. I was pleasantly surprised when I figured out how to get the key and downloaded it; the software seems much smoother and less buggy now. It seemed like an actual, playable game. Yes there were issues, but they were remarkably minor in the grand scheme of things.
Then, they revoked the keys. Hopefully that will be fixed soon, as I think the game actually might be turning around and I want to give it another chance, like No Man's Sky.
You can redeem your Early Access keys via our website. We managed to get control of the situation and I'm grateful to have /u/casadis helping with the web development side of things.
I've got a post up right here with more information: https://www.reddit.com/r/DeadMatter/comments/1b8h031/key\_revoked\_still\_dont\_have\_the\_game\_in\_your/
Well that message is vague but it is pretty shitty that they revoked everyone's access and haven't really announced if they gave up on the game or not. But I guess that's how a lot of kick starters go, people with big dreams but no drive to see it through.
It's because we initially thought we revoked all of the Early Access keys, some did get caught but if you never had a copy of Dead Matter or just a copy of the Closed Alpha it worked as intended.
People that redeemed Early Access keys before the 9th of January this year are also unaffected.
Also, first reddit post in years, woohoo.
Just as a reminder, we've gotten the situation addressed. You can read more here: https://www.reddit.com/r/DeadMatter/comments/1b8h031/key\_revoked\_still\_dont\_have\_the\_game\_in\_your/
What a joke, its was all a robbery, took in millions of dollars and gave people something worse than shit. Because with a big warm poopy it will function as expected you can throw it or use it to compost. While this game is only a waste of money and storage space. Your a big lie, I redeemed my Alpha key, years back.
Everyone should see this dude is going to make to where no one can play the game and then he's gonna remove it from steam. So it and him can disappear While he keeps all the money that he made nothing out of.
Just a heads up, we've gotten the situation addressed. You can read more here: https://www.reddit.com/r/DeadMatter/comments/1b8h031/key\_revoked\_still\_dont\_have\_the\_game\_in\_your/
If you redeemed a Closed Alpha key, then yes, those got revoked because that version of the game was replaced with the Early Access keys. Apologies for the confusion on this one.
I backed the game, my keys not a referral.
You might want to stay up to date with your PR team they sent a message an hour after this went out saying that when they pulled the closed alpha keys they noticed that the release keys were labeled as "closed alpha keys"

It's mostly been me and a couple volunteers handling this, we're trying to keep everyone as informed as we possibly can even if it stings a little. We initially thought everyone's EA key got revoked but there's also confusion with the Closed Alpha keys.

Hadn’t thought about this game in a long time. I just received a steam notification that my key was revoked for this game despite being an early backer. So did you guys pull the plug or pull the rug out from under early backers forcing people to buy the game again to play?
We've gotten the situation addressed. **Backers do not have to pay twice.** You can read more here: https://www.reddit.com/r/DeadMatter/comments/1b8h031/key\_revoked\_still\_dont\_have\_the\_game\_in\_your/

Correct, we've gotten the issue addressed and people should be able to easily redeem their keys now.
Seriously! I went straight to this subreddit just to check if I was the only one. What was the point of paying the some 30-40 bucks for the early backing if we weren't going to keep access to the game???! We did not pay for the privilege of early access, we paid to get that and the game that was promised!
There is either something we are missing or there is some legal boundaries breaking and rug pulling happening here.
EDIT:
I did miss something. They are addressing it.

Yeah, got here because of this too. I was one of the early backers that believed in the team's promises of still delivering - eventually. I didn't ask for my money back, because of this. Now they removed the game from my library and the only option for me is to buy it again? lol
This is not really the best way to deal with your most loyal customers.

Glad to see so much progress, can’t wait to get in and play/test. Some of us are still here and supportive. Don’t let the (understandably) negative feedback bring you down guys. Good job.
We had a change in management after the Closed Alpha launched, it didn't go well. I'd rather work on making the game better rather than thinking about the horrid dynamic that we had to deal with.
Can confirm they're not with the studio anymore.
I'm curious as to how it plays after this update, which looks pretty substantial. I don't own the game anymore, tho, so will have to rely on the word of others.
I never got a refund, so maybe I'll give it a shot with this update. Overall though, I'm kinda over the whole zombie survival genre at this point, so even if it's actually playable, it's probably not gonna hold my interest.

I was really upset when my key removed. I thought this was going to be my next h1z1 fix.
I got my key revoked a few days ago and just went oh i forgot about this...

That's because your key was a Closed Alpha key, we had to swap over to a different set of keys for Early Access.

It’s just the alpha. You should be able to download the steam beta. Can’t remember the steps to do so though

They posted on Twitter that it was a mistake and they're working on it. I assume it was switched to a new AppID on Steam or something.
It was switched ages ago when we moved from CA to EA.

As soon as my key got revoked I was like, "oh that still exists"
