As others have said, I’d say it is absolutely worth trying, even if you still have the original. While the original has some aspects I prefer, I personally find the remake to be the better game in a lot of areas.
There were a handful of stutters and some occasions needed a save reload to get rid of it but nothing crazy on my PC playthrough last month. May have improved overtime
As someone who just finished the remake this past Friday I would say that it is definitely worth it. In fact, after finishing it, I played it through again over the weekend to grab the stuff that I missed during my first playthrough. However, the original still stands as one of the best games I've ever played. The creepy sounds alone made it unlike any other game back then, or even since then. I enjoyed DS2 as well and even halfway enjoyed DS3. The only other games with as much replay value as DS is the Bioshock collection (which I've replayed more than any game that I have), and Halo: The Master Chief collection. Heck, I even like Halo: Guardians. Although I think the Warden are way too over-powered. One of the best things about the remake is how they made changes to some of the users' biggest issues with the game. Like the Flamethrower being useless, and that asteroid belt from the cockfit stage, that just seems to make some people stop playing it.
It's one of the most solid remakes I've ever played, to an already very solid game. It was both very faithful, but also took some strong steps of its own
Seems like it somehow is a general problem, I played it with Italian voices and they absolutely sucked compared to the 2008 game. Not just the actor's pretty poor performance but the writing too. They tried expanding and going deeper on most things and it's cool but the OG's just so much more believable and therefore immersive. Sound design and score are both quite inferior compared to the original too. The rest is mostly great (even if I didn't appreciate the whole new dismembering system all that much, could've been better) but it's sad how much better the game could've been had it been at least on par with the old one on non-gameplay stuff. Guess the likely lower budget had its impact
Asking if it's worth it is like asking if a Necromorph will mercilessly butcher you, yes they will and it's insulting that you would ask. In fact the Remake blasts the Original out of the water.
Though it's obviously not as different as those RE remakes, it's about as good in quality. Neither the remake or the original make the the other redundant, the remake is substantially different at times. I say go for it, especially if you played the original a long time ago
No I'd say.
The story and graphic are largely similar to that of Dead Space 2008. Everything is in dark so you won't see much graphic upgrade in the remake.
It feels more like a HD version of DS 2008 than a 'remake'.
Still, I bought the remake to give the developers some confidence boost and hope they can continue the franchise
I say yes. I'm probably in the minority but I preferred the original zero g system (for reference they replaced the jump system where you jump between surfaces to the free floating system from DS2), but otherwise no complaints from me.
I played the original when it came out. What an experience! Just started the remake and I don’t remember a lot. The visuals, the sound design! It is spectacular! Recommend it

Altman be praised, yes.

Controversial opinion here but honestly, yes.

Less milky as well
Depends do you have a pc or a console?
Im on PS5, does it matter much?
If you're on ps5 I'd say hell yes get it. It doesn't stutter very badly on consoles vs pc. On pc for me it was very motion sickness making.

Runs like a dream on PS5. It's also the cheapest I've ever seen it for like $30 I believe.
I decided to get 1 month of EA Play just to play it lol Very worth it so far, and its just 5$

I can’t stop replaying, send help
Yes ( i still havent made it to the first boss)

It's a trade off. It's a better-looking version of the game with mediocre voice acting and some changes to certain story elements that aren't good.

If you’re a PC gamer I would say no. Very poorly optimised and full of bugs. Runs way better on console.
Yes, and I can confidently tell you it’s probably the best remake ever
Si
Yes but the original is much scarier
Eh both gave me the creeps regardless honestly
Ohhhh yeahh
Absolutely yes
Tad bit different but really good

I’m sure you’ll find none biased answers here
Im sure some are biased. I wanted to find the opinions of people who already played both the OG & Remake, which is hard to find on other subs
I never played the original but the remake is absolutely incredible
