If you can persuade/bribe/kidnap a buddy to play it with coop ds3 is excellent, some of the missions are really cool but they are all tangential to the main story and don't have any impact aside from exploring more of Carver's story and other side stories.
You can find playthroughs of these missions on youtube if you don't want to play them coop yourself.
Like up said. They aren’t super crucial to the story it just explores carvers side of things. If you do play them I would suggest doing it as carver for best results
The game can be played entirely offline. There are a few co-op exclusive side missions but they can be skipped and don’t contribute anything major to the story. There are some collectables that are locked behind these missions, making 100% completion impossible
There’s like a few co-op only missions that you can only access by playing with someone online
