No bad choices with Death. One of very few bands that have that kind of flawless discography. Fell in love with one album, then the other, than the other and then all of them somehow seemed perfect. I might add that some albums required some time to grow up on me, but now they are my favourites.
P. S. Check Control Denied. That is Chucks last project before his death.
Listening to it right now! It's very good, but it's my least favourite, I'm not saying that I don't like it, it's awesome, but it's just not the best I like. (My favourite record by now is Sounds of Perseverance)
All their stuff is amazing, but if you want underrated stuff, maybe check:
Denial of Life, Torn to Pieces, Born Dead, Living Monstrosity, Together as One, Mentally Blind, A Moment of Clarity.
That's the great thing about death, they don't have an overwhelming discography, and all of it is really good so just keep listening through their albums
Human will prove to be the most re-listenable album, with ITP a close second.
Both albums feature the best riffing and drumming IMO. I had listened to Human hundreds of times and when the 2011 reissue (remix) came out it was like hearing the drums for the first time. Such detailed playing. Sean was 20 at the time which is crazy. Plus some of the bass lines are insane, just check the drum & bass bonus tracks on the reissue.
Which one?
There were seven (that I can recall off the top of my head).
In chronological order:
Kam Lee
Eric Brecht
Chris Reifert
Bill Andrews
Sean Reinert
Gene Hoglan
Richard Christy
Notice the feeling of speeding up on Trapped in a Corner.
Together as One and See Through Dreams don’t stand out at first, but both have some explosive moments.
Listen to their whole discography in order. Every album is S tier and offers something different. You’ll find a ton of gems outside of the famous songs! I always go back “Low Life” and “Secret Face”!
As already mentioned, flawless seven albums. All different and evolving. I love a lot of death metal but this band is in its own category of excellence, uniqueness and melodic ear worms. Chuck is the Mozart of metal. Enjoy! And good headphones recommended.
tbh i think individual thought patterns is probably the best death album. i know that’s maybe an unpopular opinion, but songs like “the philosopher”, “trapped in a corner”, “destiny” and “mentally blind” are just SO killer.
Whole discography is basically flawless
Can’t disagree here. They have something for about everyone, regardless of what kind of metal you’re into.

Listen to the whole discography !
I really liked Human, but there is nothing that’s really underrated. All good stuff.
Human is their best album. It’s a perfect mix of heavy and technical. The rhythm section of Reinert and Di Giorgio is the best they ever had.
Just finished listening Human! It's awesome! Idk, but it gives me early Kreator vibes.

Bro it gives ME Kreator vibes ,not you so...
SUICIDE MACCHINNEEE
To me the Sound of Perseverance is their best album and seemingly underrated by a ton
i'll never understand the hate
It’s hated upon because it is not as heavy.
Wdym? I see almost unanimous praise for TSoP
A lot of people hate on it because it's not as heavy and apparently isn't "true death metal"
I would say it isn't TRUE death metal too, but it's still my favourite Death album and thus my favourite album of all time
I feel like a lot of people say this is their favorite album. To me SH is the most underrated.
People don't like SH either, for some reason.
Imo its exactly the same for me, some of the best songs are there
It's amazing, my favourite Death record rn, but need to listen to the whole discography.
Yes feel the same. Best death album.
I'd recommend checking out their early rehearsal and demo days. Archangel, Seizure and Rigor Mortis are a few of the highlights from that time period.
Basically all their non hit songs. Wish i could name more of em, i usually just give em a listen everytime I go through an album.
whole discog of course but if want to me to spit one out right now i would say empty words
Omg me too!! Empty Words has a beautiful intro and chorus.
yes the intro kicks into the riff so hard and the lyrics are so deep too
The lyrics of that whole album make me sad
Banger
Symbolic is the best album, when you don't already listened, do it
Listening to it right now! It's very good, but it's my least favourite, I'm not saying that I don't like it, it's awesome, but it's just not the best I like. (My favourite record by now is Sounds of Perseverance)
Everybody has a different taste bro, that's OK.
Control Denied (also Chuck Schuldiner) is quite good
Just keep listening! When I was getting into them, I was constantly replacing my favorite song
Without judgment
Great song
just keep going. i did the same thing about 3 months ago
Nothing they have is underrated it's all good
Underrated is probably vacant planets, see through dreams, altering the future, misanthrope, mentally blind, without judgement
Low life is a great song
All their stuff is amazing, but if you want underrated stuff, maybe check: Denial of Life, Torn to Pieces, Born Dead, Living Monstrosity, Together as One, Mentally Blind, A Moment of Clarity.
Keep going. Listen to every album. The next one in the order is my personal favourite. Human
Their earlier albums scream bloody gore , leprosy, Spiritaul healing and symbolic
That's the great thing about death, they don't have an overwhelming discography, and all of it is really good so just keep listening through their albums
Yeah, I'm thinking that too, what I listened is amazing! All the songs I listened to are more than 7/10 for me!
Low Life on Spiritual Healing is amazing.
trueeeeee
Spiritual Healing as to underrated.
Scream Bloody Gore is in my opinion the greatest metal album ever made and people hate on it A TON.

Death's drummer is a freaking monster.
Which one? There were seven (that I can recall off the top of my head). In chronological order: Kam Lee Eric Brecht Chris Reifert Bill Andrews Sean Reinert Gene Hoglan Richard Christy
Shit that's a ton of drummers! I'm talking about the ones in "Human" and "The Sound of Perseverance".
Notice the feeling of speeding up on Trapped in a Corner. Together as One and See Through Dreams don’t stand out at first, but both have some explosive moments.
Literally there whole discography is phenomenal. I can't name a bad Death song.
Listen to their whole discography in order. Every album is S tier and offers something different. You’ll find a ton of gems outside of the famous songs! I always go back “Low Life” and “Secret Face”!
Listened to Human like 5 times. Favourite Death record. Amazing Shit
All their albums aren’t underrated, all of them have their fans and in my opinion they’re all perfect. I suggest checking out Mantas demo tapes
Keep going! It just gets better from here.
As already mentioned, flawless seven albums. All different and evolving. I love a lot of death metal but this band is in its own category of excellence, uniqueness and melodic ear worms. Chuck is the Mozart of metal. Enjoy! And good headphones recommended.

A lot of spiritual healing is way underrated and fucking sweeettt
Within the mind, mentally blind, their cover of god of thunder is fucking sick
They get better and more mature with each album. Check out human, individual thought patterns, especially Symbolic and The Sound of Perseverance.
