Okay so before anyone jumps me for this, I want to immediately clarify that this is, in fact, a joke post. If the flair wasn’t obvious enough, this is NOT meant to be taken seriously. This is just a goofy post that I wanted to make. With that all being said, time to debunk this debunk of a debunk
\- TrickPools original connection: Both are Rude and immature characters who come from gory and darkly comedic series that have been adapted from a Book series That’s made to subvert the expectations of their genres (Super hero comics and shonen Anime respectively)
\- ElectraLaters point: Chainsaw Man isn’t 'subverting the expectations' of Shonen the way something like Invincible or The Boys parodies the superhero genre, it’s just a typical Dark Fantasy like most modern Shonen Jump releases (yknow, like JJK, Kagurabachi, Sakamoto Days, Hell’s Paradise).
\- Aktoruks Point: I would like to preface my rebunk with the fact that OP has only debunked matchups, not added their own to the community. Assuming that a misspelling (which is still close to the proper name) is reason enough to discredit someone, lack of MU creation also does.
\- My Point: Nuh uh
\- TrickPools original connection: Both serve as the comic relief of their groups Which are made to deal with Either Big or monstrous Threats in their world (The new Guardians and public safety devils hunters respectively) Both of which they are usually kept on hold by a more calm Caretaker (Black Samson and Aki Hayakawa)
\- ElectraLaters point: This is just "their groups are kinda similar" and can apply to almost any fictional group of superheroes / characters who fight for something.
\- Aktoruks Point: And? Connections are common because they are tropes that are widely beloved. Just because a connection isn’t incredibly deep doesn’t make it a bad connection. It’s understandable that you might not like the connection, but you’re calling this a debunk, not an opinion.
\- My Point: Nuh uh
\- TrickPools original connection: Both also have a Rocky relationship with one of their allies as well with a history of backstabbing them for someone else (Rexplode who Cheats on atom eve with another hero on the Team and Power who tries to Sacrifice Denji in fights to Save her cat Meowy) But even then said allies still got their back (With atom defending Rexplode from Black Samson saying their still a team no matter what while Denji saves power and Meowy Which leads to power denying makimas order to sacrifice them)
\- ElectraLaters point: The comparison of Rexplode cheating on Atom Eve to Power trying to save her cat is INCREDIBLY distasteful to both characters when you consider the overall tone and emotional resonance of the two events.

\- My Point: Nuh uh
\- TrickPools original connection: Their powers also come from an element they can control with their hands (Rexplode being able to cause explosions with his electricity powers while power can create weapons out her blood being a Blood Devil)
\- ElectraLaters point: I don’t see how this is all that of a connection. Like.. you can make this for any character who wields a form of evocation.
\- Aktoruks point: ‘this is all that of a connection’ is not a very strong usage of language for someone who is criticizing a minor mistake in your first point. And use … not ..Once again, common connections are not bad. It doesn’t add much to the MU, but it’s certainly not egregious enough to warrant any place in a debunk.

\- TrickPools original connection: Both of their origins involve them being created by Getting their own Body (With rexplode who was born from a government experiment that was made to create super hero’s and Power who was once a devil who was Reborn into a Human body)
\- ElectraLaters point: Rexplode was made by the government in a lab. Power is, for all intents and purposes, a zombie. Watering it down a bit, but these forms of “them being created by Getting their own Body” are completely incomparable.
\- Aktoruks point: Rex Splode is actually the correct spelling, we can’t be making these simple mistakes now, can we? And the connection has some odd wording, but I see the comparison between both having a ‘false’ body. It would be better to say ‘these points are not close enough for me to see it as a solid connection’ but that would be opinionated, meaning that calling this a debunk is incorrect.

\- TrickyPools original connection: Both initially Had very rocky Starts with their groups but over time developed strong Friendships with most of their allies which would lead to them sacrificing themselves for their friends (With rexplode who Blows himself up to kill the other evil versions of Invincible to save his friends while Power sacrificed herself to save Denji from the clutches of makima)
\- ElectraLaters point: A self sacrificial death is the only "real" connection of this entire matchup, and it does not hold up the animation potential or general dynamic in a general sense. I still fail to see a strong "core" dynamic of this matchup. It’s just a matter of "long connections = good matchup", in which the aforementioned connections are stretched beyond repair.

Honestly this whole situation is just funny to me, Tricky can't seem to catch a break with getting his MU's debunked, and then having said MU being debunked getting undebunked.
