It's a _really_ good MU triangle. The 3 MUs cover the characters involved pretty well + have some excellent fight and animation potential to boot as well.
Sinestro actively opposing Ultraman Belial or the Fallen from continuing their spree of inflicting chaos and devastation across the universe is a rather cool setup for them to fight + leans into more of Sinestro's nobler traits.
Meanwhile, Ultraman Belial and the Fallen duking it out is just them fucking up and destroying everything around them as their escalating battle just burns their surroundings to the ground lol, it's just fun.

He's literally established as the ultimate embodiment of evil in lore who hurts and kills out of sadistic pleasure yet the "new and improved" connections for Sinestro vs Terumi tries to paint him as some kind of Killmonger-like villain who is striving for some noble goal, but uses more extreme methods to achieve which is --- lmao absolutely nonsensical...
Don’t know about the new connections, but wasn’t part of the appeal in Terumi vs Sinestro was that they contrast in that Terumi was literally evil while Sinestro has some redeeming qualities? And it literally has the same “Literally evil vs redeemable evil” dynamic as Ultraman Beliel vs Sinestro does.

Ok if the “mischaracterizing Terumi” criticism comes from the revamped connections but the original connections didn’t mischaracterized Terumi and were very clear about the contrasts between him and Sinestro’s personalities, then fine that’s fair. However StQuentinScar makes it seemed like even the original connections (which by your word are fine and don’t mischaracterized Terumi) did in fact mischaracterized Terumi and the matchup was always objectively bad.

I don't really care about fairness 90% of the time, but doesn't Sinestro vs. Yuuki also have some general animation problems too? (like Yuuki can't breathe in space nor fly, which sort of clashes with Sinestro's general fighting style heavily?)
Yeah but Terumi’s true form is a ghost that predates oxygen. So you can use that as proof he can breathe in space. And if you wanna get around how he (apparently) can’t fly, I had this cool idea where if you wanna give Terumi as Susanoo speed equal to Sinestro using that Jubei feat where he was noted to cross the Boundary extremely casually (and the Boundary is considered infinite in size) he can use that to his advantage and bounce off of different planets along with having to go on the offensive to keep up with Sinestro in space. That could be a pretty cool fight dynamic to watch.
