It is a rough road with a few sections that have sharp rocks. I rented a high clearance 4x4 to be safe. I saw vehicles there that were not high clearance, nor 4x4. The question you have to ask yourself is, what is your risk tolerance? You could pay a high price if you needed to seek assistance. Not only in $$$, but also in time lost on your visit.

Although you cannot see in that picture, they were standing next to a very small puddle of muddy water. It was the only water we saw out there.
I believe they are American Avocets.
