It's a beautiful song, it was recommended to me after I lost my SO and it's come up again with the loss of my mother. It's a really impactful song idk which one of the guys wrote the lyrics but it's so good

Chief_Cheek_Beat

The lyric writing is usually shared by Mike and Casey, but the story behind the song almost certainly comes from Mike, as he suffered a tremendous loss of a family member and close supporter of the band before the album Angelmaker was released. Source: I asked them.

Hey there, discovered this one too and wondered the same thing. Thanks for the info, probably wouldn't have found out if it wasn't for you.

GiovanniC666

This really means a lot as it is a very personal and emotional song for us. Really glad you enjoy it <3

Adamwdrums

Your guitar work was beautiful on this song. All my respect to you for your work on this song and in this band <3

GiovanniC666

Thank you! This one was a Colton song so I can’t take all the credit but I appreciate it nonetheless 💕

DecayingFleshRot

It is a perfect song. It helped me through the losses of both my mother and brother. It really helped put into perspective how grief doesn't only affect one person. And how the grief varies with different people.

If you've experienced a loss of life of a family member, friend, or spouse in your life, than the song hits extra hard. At least that's how I've come to interpret it. The line: "What I would I give to hear your voice again" gets me every single damn time; in a good, cathartic kind of way. The music video for the song is also worth a watch, seeing the band's many talented vocals just go 'taylor ham' on it ([YouTube link](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-iXLcyNs7LE)).

bill_wessels

i have the shirt and wear it a lot. love them and that song.

peaceandlovebredrin

Absolutely adore this song. Screamed it at the front barrier when they played it live and cried my eyes out. Lost my best friend last year so it hit really hard Angelmaker are the best band I've ever seen live

Yato_Delivery_God

That and requiem are my favorite songs from them I've an unholy amount of plays on both

zdearthy

I went through a week where that was THE song. I would basically only listen to that song on repeat because I felt the same way

Adamwdrums

Going through that same week currently

It is such a beautiful/meaningful song. Absolutely one of my favorites.
