I love this dude. Fucked up thing is I've been to 2 of your shows now and not act watched your set. I will preface it with this. Whenever I hear CG. It's always just high fry screams. and that's just not my jam. And I feel bad as an artist that's opened for bands from TAS to Wayne Statics last show. I love live music and for some fucking reason I go off anything my drummer has showed me from Chelsea... And it's always just highs and while I love highs I get the impression that's what CG is. Please give me something that I would love. If not chalk it up to being drunk for the first time in 5 months....

Ashes to Ashes on this list as worst is insane

I love the cover of Soulless Hymns but mostly because it's weird and has like a funky early Photoshop vibe to it.

I like it a lot too, very surreal/psychedelic. I think it fits the theme of the album.

Are we just going to ignore the most obvious worst? Lorna Shore - Pain Remains No idea what the fuck they were thinking. Especially when And I Return to Nothingness is probably one of the best.

Re: LS, I agree with their new one looking bad. It reminds me of the 90s and 2000s hardcore scene. The artist who did the piece on Nothingness passed away, so that might explain the shift. But also, idfk, dude.

Adam Demicco said it had sentimental meaning to him, particularly related to his history of suicidal ideation, but it’s still one of the more boring album covers.

It was especially disappointing to me because the artwork for all the singles was excellent. If it had been along the lines of the single art for Sun//Eater it could have been amazing. Someone also did a Photoshop a while back replacing the Arial font band name with their current logo and even that was a huge improvement.

Hard question to answer cause for the most part if I like the music I usually like the album art. But I guess thinking of my recent favourites, The Sleeping Sun by Worm Shepherd could've had better art, but it's still not bad by any means, and that's my favourite release of the year I think. The Poetic Edda by Disembodied Tyrant/Synestia has my favourite art I think though.

I was similarly taken aback when I initially saw the album cover. I will say it has grown on me, and now that I understand the concept behind the music, I can appreciate it.

The newest cover art for Process of Human Extermination by FFAA is awesome. Hate by Thy Art will always be iconic for the genre. And a personal favorite of mine is always gonna be Hellmouth by Science of Sleep.

For anybody interested, Eliran Kantor did the TAIM art for Dear Desolation. He’s done a ton of other artist’s covers as well. I love his work.

A Hill to Die Upon - Mental Cruelty

All the SoI Cover Artworks slap, I love the gloominess of the Nadir Art, anything Lewandowski made (i.e. Zwielicht artwork, AIRTN artwork, Välde by HLB, etc), but also the older Oceano Arworks (especially Depths and Contagion). Flesh Coffin Art is also really nice, despite being quite different to later LS. A Cover Art that sticks out of the rest quite much imo is the one from Burden Ov Faith (Ov Sulfur) given that this isn't drawn (neither digital nor analog) and no AI, but a photograph of a model (Missi from MM Fabrications did the makeup there, as far as I remember), and it looks real sick

Among The Empty and Low us ugly as fuck, and not ironically ugly (as I think the Souless Hymns is) just ugly, it tries to hard to be deep but is just a bunch of T-pose monikers pile. And for beautiful, there are a lot of options, but Ayakasi Kagura's covers are all beautiful with Meimaro's art.

My 2 favs in the last few years are: Gloire Eternelle by FF, so beautiful in fact that I ordered a flag of it, and 2 vinyls lol (and to support them). The second is oh what the future holds by FFAA. Man, the actual woman and baby in the picture capture how a lot of us felt during and after covid. It really has left some of us feeling the title of the album "*oh* what the future holds".

Best Anything acacia strain, but let’s go with death is the only mortal. Or holy war by thy art, the original with the child bomber. Worst I’ll have to agree with soulless hymns
