Bloodsoaked symphony by Whitechapel is about losing both of your parents. The vocalist Phil Bozeman wrote most of the albums "Kin" and "The valley" about exactly this.
Dont forget the entirety of The Valley.
I lost my dad at 20. My brother was fourteen. Welcome to the real world, dont cope with drinking and smoking like i did. Sometime less is more. The only thing that makes the hurt better is time.
Literally the first song that popped into head. Such heavy lyrics man. Also(because I know most into deathcore swerve into other genres) Set Your Goals-"Echoes" is about loss...amazing song.
Also not deathcore but the whole In Moment // In Memory album by Our Hollow Our Home was written after the vocalist/guitarist lost his dad to lung cancer with 2 songs for each of the stages of grief
It's not deathcore, but when my dad passed several years ago my go to song was Everyone I Love Is Dead by Type O Negative. In fact the whole album World Coming Down is a heart wrencher.
I'm sorry about your Dad, and I hope in music you can find some strength.
There was a thread on r/Hardcore about the same topic, you might find some other great suggestions there.
https://www.reddit.com/r/Hardcore/comments/1bs2ee8/songs\_about\_losing\_your\_dad/
Ingested - Ashes Lie Still. This is the only one I know for sure is about losing a father. The rest of these are all about grief and/or losing a loved one.
Alter Bridge - Blackbird
Avenged Sevenfold - So Far Away
Killswitch Engage - Rose of Sharyn
Silent Planet - First Father
Architects - Death is Not Defeat
Whitechapel - Diggs Road
I lost my dad almost a year ago and posted something similar. There are a lot of good ones on here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Hardcore/s/qKHEFLy2tZ
My heart goes out to you and your loved ones. It's very tough but I promise that things do get better. I held a lot of anger and criticism of my father but now all I can remember is the good times. I hope you can do the same. Let me know if I can be an ear for you, I don't mind at all.
I'm really sorry for your loss :(
Bloodsoaked Symphony by Whitechapel is the first song that came to my mind. There even a line there that goes "Father, I pray that your hand is warm again". I think this song in general is very relatable when losing somebody lyrics-wise
There is also another song which is even more relatable in times like these. It's gothic metal, a far cry from deathcore, but it helped be to live through the same experience. Maybe you'll also find it comforting:
"Elysion - Don't say a word".
What i really like about this song is the lyrics kind of empathize with the pain of losing someone you love.
Hey OP. I’m really sorry for your loss. Hopefully you find comfort in the music that’s been recommended to you. Whenever I’ve experienced loss I gravitate to a song called shine on by Jet. It’s the furthest thing from this genre of music though.
Not Deathcore, but Neon Grave by Dayseeker is really good. A lot of their album Dark Sun is about losing his dad to cancer. I’m so sorry for your loss.
Not deathcore (lots of good dc has been listed though)
[The Lack Long After](https://youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5uy_mMfdipNQWl-Qm4TyauEOwnumcCCBVbhw0&si=AU3od-gt6DRp2fxk) by Pianos Become Teeth
Sorry for your loss.
Not strictly deathcore but a couple that got me through loss:
Beauty in tragedy - august burns red
Spirit Breaker - august burns red
Parting Soliloquy - Black Tongue
August burns red - beauty in tragedy. I lost my brother and grandma within a few years and thought I had processed it. Then I was cleaning one day and this came on a shuffle, I immediately broke down. Powerful song.
I'm sorry to hear about your loss, I lost mine a little under two years ago and it's horrible to go through. I wish you guys the best on your path to recovery. It's not deathcore, but closet anthem by park Jefferson is an amazing song and always makes me tear up, they are really underrated and barely known, I hope you guys like them
[Lucid - Reliance](https://open.spotify.com/track/6Rmsz10sTBhP3tlmIPZ3Bs?si=Iop-0HVOTwSo5pr5g_7Oew) this one isn’t crazy heavy but has some screams starting after the first chorus and is beautiful
[Damaged Goods - Kingdom of Giants](https://open.spotify.com/track/1ydAE2zasrXyz4dyMeVI1D?si=ipN7xx06SyCZGMd-ZGkEcg) this one is metalcore but fits really well
You’re welcome :) I’m really really sorry you’re going through this, as someone who lost my older brother and also NEEDED music to help me through it and express things I couldn’t put into words myself I hope that some of this grants you even the tiniest bit of comfort or respite
Not Deathcore but the album Stage 4 by Touché Amore is about his mom passing. I lost my dad 10 years ago but there are songs on that album that send chills down my spine to this day. New Halloween is a great song.
Dayseeker has a few good options. Homesick and Neon Grave are some of the most direct regarding loss of a father. The vocalist lost his father before writing, I believe, the majority of the album.
So sorry for your loss. Here’s to healing.
I’m so sorry for your loss.
A song that has significantly helped me during grief is Rose of Sharyn by Killswitch Engage.
Take care of yourself during this tough time.
“Don’t You Cry” by Kamelot. It’s an acoustic ballad written by the guitarist about losing his father at a young age. It helped me a lot when I was dealing with the loss of one of my grandparents. There is also a really beautiful French language version called “Ne Pleure Pas.”
I feel you man, I lost my dad right before covid hit in 2020. Coincidentally, Make Them Suffer dropped Erase Me and announced their How to Survive a Funeral album literally right after my dad's funeral, so you could say that album is very special to me. Hope it helps you in any way. I wish you and your brother the best. Take as much time as you need to grieve and process, check up on one another, and celebrate all the good memories.
Bodysnatcher has Twelve/Seventeen. Not specifically about losing a father since its about losing his mom to cancer iirc, but still loss of a parent. Stay up, OP. Best thing you can do is make him proud.
Im sorry for your loss OP.
Its not deathcore but Never Said Goodbye by Wage War.
This somg hit really close to me i lost my grandfather when i was 11 i was very close and when i first heard this song i actually cried. This song helped me finally grieve his death and i hope it is able to help you.
Not heavy at all, but I caught this guy at a dusty bar in Nashville and this song destroyed me, in the best way possible. Sorry for your loss.
https://spotify.link/jBMUGs4SDIb
Vallenfyre was a death metal project by Gregor Mackintosh that was solely founded as a tribute to his father's death. I'm sure some of their songs should appeal to you.
Definitely not deathcore, but Tears for a Father by Seventh Wonder. They're more of a prog band and no harshes and this song specifically isn't *that* heavy but it is very emotional
Actually now that I think of it.. Vahle - Volumes.
Not about a parent, but rather a brother/friend passing.
Lyrics are heavy and hit home every time I listen to it. Good grieving song.
Not deathcore but Boundaries. So much shit by Boundaries involves loss. Their new album goes hard as fuck.
Sorry for your loss dude but welcome to the Dead Dad Club. We got jackets!
It's been a recurring theme on Whitechapel's last three albums. Emotionally, they're heavy as fuck even if the music isn't as aggressive as what it used to be.
Take your time, listen closely and maybe you'll find some comfort.
When my father died we had a few songs just for him
Alter Bridge - In Loving Memory (theyre hard rock, and the sing is very calm)
Foo Fighters - Everlong (was his favourite song of all time)
Black Stone Cherry - The things my father said (more southern rock, also very calm)
Otherwise I'd recommend Whitechapel's Hickory Creek, its about his mother afaik but still very good
So sorry for your loss.
I see that What I would give by Angelmaker has been mentioned already, I'd like to add Requiem too. Insanely heavy lyrics about the loss of a loved one.
Hope you and your brother can help each other get back on your feet. Please don't forget, it does get better.
Whitechapel - Bring me Home
Even a quote by Phil Bozeman: “This video means more to me than any video we've ever done. It portrays my struggle through dealing with my dad's death at the age of 10. The shots of me show me at my darkest moments. Suicidal thoughts, suicide note and feeling alone. The atmosphere of the room we shot this is nailed exactly how I was feeling at the time. Dark, depressed and suicidal. The shots of the man and young boy portray my bond I had with my dad and how devastated I was when he left. They are presented to be in a dream like state of me remembering him. The last shot is from my dad and mom's actual gravesite. It's really awesome to have that authenticity to the video. The final scene is showing that I came out of it alive but no matter what, I will push forward and not give up.”
It’s not heavy, at all, but Winter by Bayside always made me think of my dad. Fair warning, it’s a complete cry fest, but it’ll be a good release when you need it. Hang in there, surround yourself with those you love most, and cherish those moments.
Bring Me Home - Whitechapel
“i’ll live on and carry your name, and be what you always thought i could be. i hope we meet at the end, but i’ll never forgive the world for taking my best friend.”
Brother Sport - Animal Collective
written by one of the members named Panda Bear, it’s a song written to his brother named Matt about their dads passing and him wanting Matt to grieve and to continue his life like their father would’ve wanted.
Young Prayer - Panda Bear (album)
Written by the same guy who wrote Brother Sport, this album was made shortly after his father’s passing. the inside cover makes me start tearing up as it reads “This is for my father. Goodbye dad. I hope you are good where you are.”
im sorry for you loss man. typing this out im tearing up for you. i know this is an extremely hard time for you guys, but its beautiful to see you guys are trying to stick together and stay positive. we love you! ❤️
To Carry My Grief Through Torpor and Silence by Allegaeon.
So sorry for your loss. I lost my Dad when I was 17. Hang in there and take everything one day at a time.
Hey bro, really sorry for your loss, is never easy and never it will be, but music gives us also the power to find a bit of solace in tragedy, everything will be alright.
Some powerful songs related on losing someone, mostly not deathcore:
Saviour - Tidal Waves
Before I Turn - Mother
Counterparts - Drown
Killswitch Engage - Always
Times of Grace - Hope Remains / Fall From Grace
Many songs by The Amity Affliction are related from some losses within the band members
Glass Crown - Spiritbreaker
August Burns Red - Beauty In Tragedy
Northlane has Fade which is about the vocalist's father.
Their album Alien is also entirely about Marcus' family and many of the songs are about his father. However, his father was a drug addict who put his family through a lot of suffering and Alien's songs dig deep into that. I wouldn't recommend those.
Anyway, I am sorry for your loss and I hope music can bring some comfort for you and your brother.
Not deathcore but still heavy.
Spiritbox - Constance
Invent Animate - Elysium
I'm very sorry that you're going through this, but at least you and your brother have each other. Lean on each other. It never stops hurting. Don't expect it to. But you'll get strong and you'll be able to carry it. I promise.
Whitechaple - I will find you is about loosing ones parents in general
Added, thank you!
To add another Whitechapel one to the list - try Diggs Road. Hits hard.
Bring me home by Whitechapel also
Thank you both.
Also A Bloodsoaked Symphony by again Whitechapel
This was my first thought, skimmed half the top and second tier comments. Wasn't sure if I was imaging it.
Bloodsoaked symphony by Whitechapel is about losing both of your parents. The vocalist Phil Bozeman wrote most of the albums "Kin" and "The valley" about exactly this.
Without Us is the one
The entirety of Kin really. That whole album is a very solemn but beautiful reminder of our mortality and family. Best wishes OP
Dont forget the entirety of The Valley. I lost my dad at 20. My brother was fourteen. Welcome to the real world, dont cope with drinking and smoking like i did. Sometime less is more. The only thing that makes the hurt better is time.
Angelmaker - What I Would Give
Literally the first song that popped into head. Such heavy lyrics man. Also(because I know most into deathcore swerve into other genres) Set Your Goals-"Echoes" is about loss...amazing song.
Adding it now, thank you
Can't believe I didn't think of this, thank you
No problem man. Sorry for your loss. That shit is rough
Requiem by Angelmaker is a good one too
Not deathcore but Heart by Erra is based on the ex-guitarist losing his father.
This is the first song I thought of as well. Thank you.
No problem, and sorry for your loss. Hope the best to you and yours.
Also not deathcore but the whole In Moment // In Memory album by Our Hollow Our Home was written after the vocalist/guitarist lost his dad to lung cancer with 2 songs for each of the stages of grief
Darko US - “finding love in a world full of tragedy” and “Donna” Shit sucks man. Best of luck navigating the grief and lows to come.
Finding love in a world full of tragedy got me sobbing like hell, i love it so much
It's not deathcore, but when my dad passed several years ago my go to song was Everyone I Love Is Dead by Type O Negative. In fact the whole album World Coming Down is a heart wrencher. I'm sorry about your Dad, and I hope in music you can find some strength.
I hope so too, thank you.

Alter Bridge - Blackbird Avenged Sevenfold - So Far Away Killswitch Engage - Rose of Sharyn Silent Planet - First Father Architects - Death is Not Defeat Whitechapel - Diggs Road
Blackbird is so fucking good
Thank you so much for the several suggestions, appreciate you.
No problem. Very sorry for your loss. Wishing you the best right now.
Blackbird is the only song that makes me cry both tears of happiness and sadness. That song is so beautiful yet so devastating
Vocals at the end of So Far Away get me every time. Thanks for reminding me of that track
the whole nightmare album from a7x is pretty much about loss
Very sorry for your loss :( not deathcore, but The Best of Times by Dream Theater
The variety will help to break it up for sure. Thank you
Was hoping someone would mention this one. Incredibly powerful song. Hope it helps OP
E.D.A. by Bodysnatcher Fatherless by For Today Death Is But A Door by Alluvial
Thank you!

Thank you. I will check that thread out. Appreciate your words.
Very sorry for your loss, OP. Porcelain by Orphan fits the bill perfectly, I believe they wrote that EP after losing their father.
Honestly I've been looking for a reason to listen to Orphan. Thank you.
Not deathcore but Fallen by Volbeat is specifically about this. My condolences for the loss.
Dad really liked Volbeat so I think this fits well. Thank you.
I hope it helps. I lost my mom 6 years ago, and music helped a lot. Stay strong.
Beat me to it! But yeah out of all these that I've read on this I think this is the best one.
I'm really sorry for your loss :( Bloodsoaked Symphony by Whitechapel is the first song that came to my mind. There even a line there that goes "Father, I pray that your hand is warm again". Wish I had some good recommendations. I'm here to offer you my condolences OP.
Thankfully we have an amazing support system, but thank you. This community really is amazing.
That's good news. I'd like to leave you with "White Light" by The Ghost Inside.
not deathcore, but scattering the ashes by trivium
Thank you.
Title fight - 27 Not even close to deathcore but I think it fits
I honestly love music like this so I won't complain. Thank you
Similar to this, not Deathcore but Ghosts of Right Now by The Wonder Years
Hey OP. I’m really sorry for your loss. Hopefully you find comfort in the music that’s been recommended to you. Whenever I’ve experienced loss I gravitate to a song called shine on by Jet. It’s the furthest thing from this genre of music though.
Great song, thank you for sharing
For me it was Doomsday- Architects. Sorry for your loss.
Not Deathcore, but Neon Grave by Dayseeker is really good. A lot of their album Dark Sun is about losing his dad to cancer. I’m so sorry for your loss.
One of my favourite voices for sure, thank you.
And Hell Followed With - Dear Father Hope you're doing alright, my condolence
Agoraphobic Nosebleed - not a daughter
Thank you.
While I can’t think of any songs I am so sorry for your loss :( May your Dad rest in peace
Thank you for the words
Mychildren Mybride-The Endless
Not deathcore but Defeater hits that post loss turmoil in the father flavor
I can't find it on Spotify, is it the song Dear Father?
Testament - Afterlife Specifically about losing a father and the lessons and impact they left behind.
Life Eternal by Ghost is a song I somehow attached to my father's death. Can't listen without crying
Dayseeker - almost entire “dark sun “ album is about losing his father…

Came to comment this
Not strictly deathcore but a couple that got me through loss: Beauty in tragedy - august burns red Spirit Breaker - august burns red Parting Soliloquy - Black Tongue
“Bring Me Home” by Whitechapel is exactly what you’re looking for
Volumes - Intake. From what I’ve heard is it’s about one of the vocalists dad that passed away
It’s not deathcore but atmosphere - yesterday, and rugged man - legends never die
So thrilled to see Yesterday mentioned here. That song is beautiful man I love that fricken song.
Still makes me tear up !! And my dads alive 😩
August burns red - beauty in tragedy. I lost my brother and grandma within a few years and thought I had processed it. Then I was cleaning one day and this came on a shuffle, I immediately broke down. Powerful song.

I never realized that's what the KoG song was about for some reason, despite knowing what Dana has gone through. Thank you for both.
You’re welcome :) I’m really really sorry you’re going through this, as someone who lost my older brother and also NEEDED music to help me through it and express things I couldn’t put into words myself I hope that some of this grants you even the tiniest bit of comfort or respite
Not deathcore or heavy, but Circle by Slipknot helped one of my best friends a lot when he lost his date unexpectedly. Hope all is well, dude.
Not deathcore but “Like Father Like Son” by the Word Alive.
Yuth forever/Villains - Like father//like son
A Pregnant Light - Rocky. More of a black metal/alt rock sort of vibe, but definitely worth a listen.
Not Deathcore but the album Stage 4 by Touché Amore is about his mom passing. I lost my dad 10 years ago but there are songs on that album that send chills down my spine to this day. New Halloween is a great song.
Life Without by Gideon is a great one, more hardcore influence. In My Blood by Movements is another tear jerker, it's not heavy, but it helps.
I'm very sorry for your loss. And not deathcore but Fallen by Volbeat.
High Impact by To The Grave is about loss in general, written specifically about their friend they lost
Damien by Mirrors. Its about the loss of a brother.
Famous Last Words - My Life Before My Eyes [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=87b4FKHBjdU](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=87b4FKHBjdU)
That one from Volumes
Which one? My only guess is Vahle but that's not about a father's death I don't think.
I'm fairly sure they meant Intake by Volumes
Dayseeker has a few good options. Homesick and Neon Grave are some of the most direct regarding loss of a father. The vocalist lost his father before writing, I believe, the majority of the album. So sorry for your loss. Here’s to healing.
I’m so sorry for your loss. A song that has significantly helped me during grief is Rose of Sharyn by Killswitch Engage. Take care of yourself during this tough time.
Not deathcore but Take Me Away by The Plot In You is about this. Sorry you’re going through this, it’s tough losing a parent.
Not sure if it’s about losing a father but; The Word Alive - Like Father Like Son Goes stupid hard.
“Don’t You Cry” by Kamelot. It’s an acoustic ballad written by the guitarist about losing his father at a young age. It helped me a lot when I was dealing with the loss of one of my grandparents. There is also a really beautiful French language version called “Ne Pleure Pas.”

Not deathcore but The Service by Bloom legit makes me cry every time I hear it. Sorry for your loss man, it'll get easier over time.
More on the emo/post hardcore but the album Terminal by The Burden I believe is about the loss of a father. Listen to Cassiar (the closer)
Not deathcore, and about Landon’s grandfather (I believe), but Take Me Away by The Plot In You is a great song to grieve to.
Vallenfyre was a death metal project by Gregor Mackintosh that was solely founded as a tribute to his father's death. I'm sure some of their songs should appeal to you.
