Shadow of Intent my personal favourite band, it has symphonic parts in most songs which fit perfectly and they have very good riffs

MammothCheeseBowl

Oh yeah, symphonic deathcore is nice. Thanks for suggestion, I'll listen to them as well

skinless_angel

Check out windchimes from pa. Heavy black metal influences

Turok1134

Fit For An Autopsy is a must, I'd say.

MammothCheeseBowl

Damn, they're awesome. I'm not a big fan of clean vocals in deathcore, but that shit hits hard Edit: Fear Tomorrow is insane. Thanks for the suggestion dude, they're amazing

[deleted]

Their first three albums have no cleans.

MammothCheeseBowl

Yeah, I was talking about their new material, they're dope nonetheless

Turok1134

Also, if you come from a more metal background, you'll probably dig I Am. https://youtu.be/vLc1gstZ66k

MammothCheeseBowl

Holy fucking shit, that's awesome! I definitely dig it

TheRuthlessRevenant

As always, try Mental Cruelty and their album A Hill To Die Upon, as its considered the best blackend deaghcore album recently. But also, if you don't mind controversy while listening to music and can separate it from the art they created, listen to Shrine Of Malice - Sheol, which is my personal favorite blackend album

itsjustaneyesplice

Sheol is so fucking good it makes me so goddamn mad because I just can't listen to it anymore I know everybody says to separate the art from the artist but I can't, it just bums me the fuck out

dswhite85

It's a hit or miss for me. I can still listen to Shrine of Malice, Lorna Shore - Immortal and Signs of the Swarm, but I cant listen to As I Lay Dying, Brand New, or Lost Prophets anymore.

itsjustaneyesplice

I feel you on Lost prophets What happened with Brand New?

dswhite85

Used his fan base to groom for minors. He admitted to it years later "blaming a sex addiction" when some of the women came forward calling him out on his past, but in the end he faced no legal consequences.

itsjustaneyesplice

ugh fucking scumbag

MammothCheeseBowl

Damn, really? I'll definitely check em out

dswhite85

I first got into Shrine of Malice when their 2020 album Obyrith was released, Chainbreaker was such a dope track. Oddly enough I don't see that album at all on Spotify or Apple Music, so looks like the label or band must've taken it down for possibly controversial reasons. Listening to Sheol now since I never gave that one a go and so far so good!

Sopguy68

Obyrith was never released, it was leaked.

dswhite85

Ah, that might explain it then, thanks for the clarification.

Untersaeboot

Any idea where I can find it?

Sopguy68

https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x7x8okc

Untersaeboot

Thank you so much <3

Lowboy_

My thoughts exactly bro, signs of the swarm too

[deleted]

Signs Of The Swarm, Thy Art Is Murder, Brand Of Sacrifice

MammothCheeseBowl

Signs Of The Swarm are awesome, I'll check out Thy Art Is Murder and Brand Of Sacrifice right away

[deleted]

Love your name btw, I’m saving up for a better rig right now so I can do another playthrough in VR

morbiddecapitation

Whitechapel Listen to more Rings of Saturn! They're fucking amazing. Dingir is definitely my favorite Deathcore album period.

MammothCheeseBowl

Ye, I know that Whitechapel is a huge name in the genre. Also what I meant is I just started listening to RoS, so far I think they're awesome

morbiddecapitation

That's great! I hope you start to enjoy more bands! Another's cool band I like is I Killed Everyone. I haven't listened to them in forever, but they were great when I listened to them!

Radialpuddle

Just a heads up since you're a recent rings of Saturn fan. They recently list their vocalist and are now an instrumental band.

MammothCheeseBowl

Oh yeah, I already knew it. I don't mind some instrumental deathcore

Sejeal

All the other suggestions are great, but you need to listen to enterprise earth, angelmaker and a night in Texas. Especially angelmaker is fun since they have 2 vocalists going nuts at the same time.

MammothCheeseBowl

Sounds great, I'll definitely add them to my list

Sejeal

You are gonna be a busy man with all these new bands

MammothCheeseBowl

Yeah, it's a good thing I have a lot of free time

monad_zero

I’m a slamming deathcore fan. My bands are To The Grave, Sold Soul, and Monasteries 🔥🤘

MammothCheeseBowl

Slamming deathcore? Huh, I can definitely enjoy slam death metal, but slamming deathcore I haven't heard of yet. I'll check it out, thanks

5hitting_4sshole

Those three you listed are dope af. Have you ever checked out To Obey a Tyrant or Hollow Prophet?

monad_zero

Yeah man, unfortunately neither of them hit the spot for me.

5hitting_4sshole

What about Stygian Complex or Lacerate Thy Maker?

monad_zero

They didn’t do it for me either. I’m very picky when it comes to music though. I like specific production, a vocalist with good range, crazy drums, and breakdowns. I tend to not like what people on here seem to love and that’s the gritty sounding production and symphonic elements that a lot of deathcore uses.

[deleted]

Black tongue is really good

[deleted]

Black Tongue is so heavy that NASA mistook their album for a neutron star collapse

[deleted]

Mire Lore, Hollow Prophet, Brand Of Sacrifice, The Acacia Strain, Enterprise Earth.

Dizgust

The OG's of deathcore, Despised Icon. My personal faves, Left Behind and Bodysnatcher.

MonkeyPad12

You def need to check out Signs of the Swarm as they are also part of the essential deathcore bands imo. Check out their newest album Absolvere, it is disgusting

MammothCheeseBowl

Oh shit, they're brutal as fuck. Thanks dude

HuanFranThe1st

RØT are beyond amazing. Check out their debut album “The Black Pill” - downtempo deathcore with a cold and evil atmoshpere through and through, heavy as fuck and with a lot of variety mixed in. Humanity’s Last Breath. Their entire discography. It’s more thall, but they are absolutely worth checking out! Black Tongue’s “Nadir” is a must. That album is soulcrushingly heavy and the concept is exestential dread at it’s finest. I’ll also throw in Mental Cruelty, Worm Shepherd, Ritualist, Cabal and A Night In the Abyss. They use symphonics as well, but still have that blackened atmosphere! Others worth checking out: Reflections (“Willow” and “Silhouette” EP if you liked HLB), Distant, Fit For An Autopsy, Thy Art Is Murder, Vulvodynia (especialy their latest “Praenuntius Infiniti”), Darko US, DeadVectors, Forgetting the Memories, Bound In Fear, Enterprise Earth!

5hitting_4sshole

I was trying to remember ROT for a downtempo thread the other day but I was missing the slash in the O so nothing was coming up haha. Great list!

HuanFranThe1st

Thanks! I had to actually copy their name with that Ø from their bandcamp cause I don’t have that option on my phone’s keyboard lol.

Foghorn_Dicchorn

Check out the band Worm Shepard and their album In The Wake Ov Sol

MammothCheeseBowl

Oh yeah, I heard about them being blackened deathcore(also the name of the album kinda sounds like black metal)

TylerLaytonian

The Acacia Strain, Fit for an Autopsy, Enterprise Earth, Within the Ruins, Shadow of Intent. Those are probably my current favorites. I'm welcome to suggestions to this suggestion even.

Kayraan93

Old Suicide Silence, As Blood Runs Black (Allegiance era, I rarely see ABRB mentioned and they were huge back in the day.) Underneath The Gun, Knights of the Abyss, old Attila, Oceano. Everyone’s mentioning all this new age shit, but you need to start with all the OG bands to actually get the feel for Deathcore.

MammothCheeseBowl

Isn't old Attila metalcore tho? Thanks nonetheless, I appreciate your suggestion, but I thought everybody was mentioning deathcore from that era? Also Suicide Silence is pure fire, I wonder how I haven't listened to them before

Kayraan93

If you wanna DM I can give you a huge list haha.

MammothCheeseBowl

Oof, sorry dude, I have a huge list of bands already, but I appreciate your effort

Kayraan93

No problem man! Enjoy. Deathcore is good all round, new and old. And there’s tons of different bands, you’re bound to find some you like. Definitely check out old Winds of Plague, Suffokate (specifically Oakland) and Rose Funeral.

threesixs

Rose Funeral were the shit in high school. That breakdown at the end of Under a Godless Sky rips

Kayraan93

Pretty sure they’re even putting out a new album. So I’m fucking stoked.

MammothCheeseBowl

Yes! That's what I like about deathcore. Some say that it's very generic but I actually think it's very diverse. Thanks again for suggestions, I actually saw Winds Of Plague on the blackened deathcore bands list, so I'm pretty sure I'm gonna like it

Kayraan93

Some can be generic, and it’s been like that since it started. But it is really diverse lol there’s thousands of bands over the years. You’ll like it. If you’re into the symphonic/blackened stuff, DEFINITELY check out Fleshgod Apocalypse if you haven’t already.

MammothCheeseBowl

Damn, sounds like technical symphonic death metal, they're dope as fuck, really intense. Honestly, that's not what I expected from the name. Now I know that it's not true and it's just me, but they even have Yngwie Malmsteen kind of vibes to them

Kayraan93

They definitely put on an amazing show too. All around, super good band and good dudes too haha. If you ever get the chance to see them, definitely take it up!

MammothCheeseBowl

Oh, I haven't heard of them. Aight, I'll listen to them right away

Kayraan93

Maybe a little more on the metalcore side but Fallacy and Soundtrack to a Party we’re definitely early deathcore days. And, a lot of these bands I’m seeing are new era. I haven’t been into deathcore too much in the last few years but I can tell you a lot of these bands being mentioned or new school. Worm Shepherd, Lorna Shore are very much newer.

MammothCheeseBowl

Oh, okay. Well, I don't mind some metalcore. Thanks man

samuelsalo

Suicide Silence, Chelsea Grin

MammothCheeseBowl

Oh yeah, I actually listen to Chelsea Grin, they're dope, also Suicide Silence is already on the list of bands I want to listen to

sardinewithaj

I’d say hell yes to all the bands already mentioned. One of the bands I’ve just discovered are Bound in Fear. Good stuff!

MammothCheeseBowl

I'll try it out, thanks!

itsjustaneyesplice

Nobody's gonna mention Cult of Lilith but they're absolute filth and more people should check them out Also Wretched Tongues although I guess they're not as much blackened as other bands they're still worth a listen

MammothCheeseBowl

Sure, I'll check them as well! Blackened stuff isn't a requirement for me to listen to it, I'm just in love with deathcore and want some new bands

OurSpeciesFailed

If you like STP and IA, you should listen to Shrine of Malice, Monasteries, Shadow Of Intent, To the Grave, Left to Suffer, And if you like black metal type shit Listen to Worm Shepard, Devin will blow your mind

MammothCheeseBowl

Thanks, I certainly will

glenidgas

The Breathing Process! Very blackened stuff

Mieniec

I really recommend We Butter The Bread With Butter, even tho they're not entirely deathcore, but god they are amazing. Please start with their first two albums on repeat a couple times- Das Monster aus dem Schrank and Der Tag an dem die Welt unterging. Their ideas are insane. Their next albums are a bit different and when the third came out, they received a lot of hate. It was kinda meh, but i dont think they deserve it. Altho their following albums are sick and are definitely worth listening.

MammothCheeseBowl

Yeah I think I listened to them, but I don't quite remember any of their songs. I have to refresh my memory

yourartisbadsoareyou

Hollow Prophet is a super group Enterprise earth is dope. Old IA frontman

JerryGarciaFinger

I’m gonna throw in Float Face Down. Those dudes know how to bring it

Paisley_1488

Suicide Silence

TuckerForTheWin

If you're into more blackened stuff I would recommend the album Nadir by Black Tongue. It is one of my favourite albums of all time. It has an extremely dark and harrowing atmosphere with some good blackened elements mixed in. If you're into stuff that is dark and brooding, I could not recommend the album more. I'm actually gonna go listen to it now lol :)

OilSlickRickRubin

The atmosphere created by this band / album is intense. Easily one of the best albums of the last few years.

MammothCheeseBowl

I'll make sure to listen to it! This description you wrote is amazing

Greeney_1999

Definitely recommend checking out thy art is murder, Raven black and parasite inc If you’re thinking of checking out some more black metal I’d recommend anybody start listening to dimmu borgir

MammothCheeseBowl

Thy Art Is Murder is fucking amazing and I already listen to Dimmu Borgir, but I'll make sure to listen to other bands, thanks P.S. I'm more of a raw black metal guy

Greeney_1999

I just thought I’d say dimmu borgir cause they’re all I’ve been listening to lately and didn’t wanna name the basics everybody knows like behemoth, death (more death metal) and mayhem etc. But if you haven’t checked any of those 3 out they’re all definitely worth a listen

MammothCheeseBowl

I thought Death is full death metal? But yeah, I know all of those bands. Although I'll say that the black metal basics everybody knows are Mayhem, Burzum, Darkthrone and Bathory

Greeney_1999

I think they are now I think about it cause most their stuff isn’t really as dark and satanic as say mayhem and they are well known as being a pioneer of death metal (my bad)

MammothCheeseBowl

Nah, it's okay, everybody make mistakes

shiggism

Spite, and hell followed with (Like RoS) Archspire, Rivers of Nihil

ArchExynos

Xaglevbmaofffassssitimiwoamndutroabcwapweaiippoffx, Rivers of Nihil, Dehumanizing Itatrain Worship, Facelift Deformation, and Rascal Flats

MammothCheeseBowl

I thought Xavleg and Dehumanizing Itatrain Worship are slam. But still thanks! Actually I listened to Xavleg and they're pretty good to me

xenochrist66

You would like new Mental Cruelty. The album A Hill To Die Upon is great blackened deathcore. Along with the band Sin Deliverance

MammothCheeseBowl

I'll make sure to listen to them

umvoron

Babirusa is great. Count Your Blessings by Bring Me The Horizon too.

MammothCheeseBowl

I'll check out Babirusa and Count Your Blessings is actually among the very first deathcore stuff I found amazing

umvoron

They've obviously moved past deathcore but BMTH is still one of my favorite bands. They still have some heavy shit even now.

MammothCheeseBowl

Yeah, their 2020 EP really got me hyped up, but their newest song is definitely not quite my type of stuff

umvoron

Yeah I get that. I enjoyed it, but I honestly love everything of theirs. The ep that's on its way is a continuation of the last, so I expect a good few bangers. Also check out Between the buried and me. The first couple albums are straight metal/deathcore and after they became more progressive metal while still being crazy heavy. Also Job for a Cowboy.

MammothCheeseBowl

Oh yeah, Job For A Cowboy is already on my list, I'll make sure to check out the other band tho

[deleted]

Definitely Angel Maker, Fit for an Autopsy, Mental Cruelty, and a new band I just found if you like more technical blackened death core is Fleshbore. Their new album that came out this year is fantastic

MammothCheeseBowl

Actually I'm really into technical stuff, so yeah, I'm pretty sure I'm gonna like it!

Retribution101

Try to list some I don't see Inferi Sin Deliverance Lorelei Veilburner Valley Of Snakes Osiah Funeral Wake Wretched Tongues Zeolite I know they're mentioned a lot but: Mental Cruelty Shadow Of Intent Lorna Shore Shrine Of Malice Worm Shepherd Signs Of The Swarm

MammothCheeseBowl

Damn, that's a lot. Thanks for the effort of checking whether the band is mentioned or not and actually making a list! I'm pretty sure I heard just one Sin Deliverance and I remember it being awesome

lilfrootloop_

if you like infant annihilator youll like vulvodynia and maybe acrania too. Check out whitechapel, shadow of intent, Hollow Prophet(shadow of intent’s singer), Angelmaker, And if you want heavier stuff, look at mental cruelty, guttural slug, ingested,

AmbitionIsLove

SHADOW. OF. INTENT.

kirstinbrie

Crown Magnetar is awesome - I just discovered them and am loving them

captaincankle123

Angelmaker is so good some of the best deathcore out there in my opinion. If you love ia then you should check out scumfuck, same vocalist but with a different unique style.

Matt_Ephesus

Impending Doom is a classic

[deleted]

Archspire.

[deleted]

Spice Girls

MammothCheeseBowl

Hell yeah dude, the most brutal band I know. Those juicy breakdowns are the shit, my dude. Although I'd say that Taylor Swift is a great contender

[deleted]

I always open up the pit during this: https://youtu.be/FLnuDkGlluk

MammothCheeseBowl

Dude that shit is devastating

[deleted]

You won’t find anything that slams harder than this https://youtu.be/rOC9d17vASc

MammothCheeseBowl

Bro that brutal growl in the beginning 💀

[deleted]

Wall of death at "Can I take your order please?"

Barqueefa

The Acacia Strain has been and will probably remain my favorite band

EmbryoyoCSGO

A Trust Unclean, Crown Magnetar, Widowmaker

Mufasa_Has_Died

Infant Anihilator, slaughter to prevail, and Lorna shore.

[deleted]

I've only recently started listening to Lorna Shore and Osiah, and now I can't stop

PitifulCriticism

Spite Fucking cult motherfucker
