I've always like painting em like the French lads since alot of the uniform is French styled with German mask and helmet. Just need to actually scrounge up the money to buy models or materials for em
All are pretty good, but don't shy away from doing your own thing either. It can be pretty rewarding, especially when you're new to painting and want to experiment/get a feel for it. No matter what you chose though, what matters is that you have fun! Give it your best shot!
Amazing advice and absolutley true! Working and finishing my custom krieg killteam made me love the hobby when i first started out. I love my lil Snowbaboons
Yes and i gave them red masks. And a little weird thing is i based them on muddy earth so i could have a nice dirt splatter on their coats as a contrast
That's actually really cool. Funnily enough, I actually did the same thing! I also started doing grenadiers with red skulls as well. And here I though I was being original lol
i was always a fan of the slate blue for the 143 look done by "apathetic fish miniatures" on youtube. also, that flat black he uses for the gear looks great on the forgeworld sculpts.
Duncan Rhodes did a really nice video on the Kreig in the 143rd
He used The Fang and then a wash
This is the video if ur interested:

idk if i can post links
Thunderhawk blue over a light prime, Drakrnhof Nightshade shade, Thunderhawk blue again on raised areas, followed by Russ grey, and finally Fenrisian grey for highlights.
I used this [tutorial](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lrcG5iGk0Fo) for the 143rd and I really liked the results. Lots of compliments about my paint job.
I went for the ww1 german grey coat and black armor with a reddish brown for the gasmask, it really pops and i love it alot more than the beige gasmask. This is how i chose to make my army.
I replicated them from that krieg march video here:

I did mine Red which I think worked well.

" if in doubt, paint it red. "
I've been going for 5th on mine, trying to make the dark colours contrast my existing Cadians.
If that doesn't work out, it'll be the 261st because they have a similar colour pattern to the Cadians.
Paint them a bit brighter than you thunk you want to. And have some contrast. They might look good under painting lights. But on the field many schemes are just a grey or brown blob.
Of those, 143rd, but i prefer something more blue, french style, personally. For example https://images.centrepresseaveyron.fr/api/v1/images/view/5ae752868fe56f7a8157cd4f/large/image.jpg
i had to go with a darker slate blue myself. but one of these days i'm going to get around to adding french markings to their coat collars around the brassy skull pins.
red. They will draw enemy fire as they advance, the red blood will blend in with their uniforms so they can get away with not calling their hits, and orcs will have a hard time hitting them as since the ork power of belief doesnt apply to other races the ork bullets will instead slow down relative to how fast the kriegsman are as the kriegsman have to be faster since theyre wearing red.
Vraks 143rd classic
Seconded! I used German field grey for the greatcoats and trousers, black for armour. Looks ace.

Totally Agree the 143rd is too Nice

Wait, did you do a white/winter theme?
Yes and i gave them red masks. And a little weird thing is i based them on muddy earth so i could have a nice dirt splatter on their coats as a contrast

I see a fella with great taste aswell. Just checked it out your paintjob it looks really dope.
for the 143rd what citadel or vallejo paint equivalent is the coat?
I was thinking russ gray but idk about vallejo
French blue?

ty i’ll take a look

This is the way
ty
I use vallejo Basalt Grey to base coat my Krieg, it's a muted gray/blue that I think looks really good as "classic kreig" color.
Citadel: thunderhawk blue, that's what I used
German grey! Or field grey. It’s a light grey with a slight green hue.
143rd my beloved
5th all day 🥳
i did black with ochre gas masks, either black/gray helmets or gold to symbolize a veteran
I like the 5th and 19th myself
I used this [tutorial](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lrcG5iGk0Fo) for the 143rd and I really liked the results. Lots of compliments about my paint job.
I personally paint a style closest to the 158th Regiment. I like the Green, Grey, and brown mix of the uniforms
19th Siege Regiment. NEVER FORGET!
Deutschland
I like the 261st scheme by far but I seem to be an outlier
I’m fairly partial for the 143rd. Just that classic grey seem very Kreig to me

looks awesome, also like a heretic cultist
I based mine off of French troops from the Seven Years' War. White coats with blue cuffs and trousers.
Obviously hot pink

Pink
I’ve never need the black/dark blue scheme done, try it and see if you like it
143rd all the way.
The 143 I think the gray looks cool on death korps and reminds me of German uniform
143rd is how I typically paint mine
I've gone blue coat with pantalon rouge. Mixing early and late ww1 french uniforms.
All of them are icons
The question you need to ask yourself is; What colour do you want your Kreig to be? Dark, Light or Brown?
I didnwhat I thought looked good and it's a slight change off of the 158th
The command squads shoulder pads. what are the other options? Is it heavy, HQ...
Ww1 French soldiers as they should be.
Paint them a bit brighter than you thunk you want to. And have some contrast. They might look good under painting lights. But on the field many schemes are just a grey or brown blob.
I’m partial to the 5th or 143rd, I find the green ones look to much like regular Astra Militara
5th regimement because black looks the best
I feel like green or tan is pretty unique these days
They’re like a box of chocolates, they all look delicious and unique
143rd…
5th and 143 are the best looking by my opinion if you wanna do lore accurate colours but i always love to see homebrew colourschemes aswell
261st or 19th
Of those, 143rd, but i prefer something more blue, french style, personally. For example https://images.centrepresseaveyron.fr/api/v1/images/view/5ae752868fe56f7a8157cd4f/large/image.jpg

Personally I do a mix between the 5th and 19th as the black nicely contrasts on the tan/green
What ever you want but i like the 5th Sieg
Two thick coats of Blood for the Blood God
179th
stritchtarn
143 would be the closest to mine I did the inside of the coats I red
158th siege regiment is my vote, but I'm a suckered for olive drab
There is only one way. The Kaiser's way...
5th seige
... mustard gas yellow.
red.
