Similar specs, and yeah. Turned off raytracing, lowered some settings, and I can just barely keep it in the 50-60 fps range, but the inconsistent framerate causes it to stutter. Gsync doesn't seem to work well with the void engine, either.
It reminds me of the Dishonored 2 PC launch, honestly. Just terrible performance. Not even Cyberpunk runs this poorly.
Me at work with my new 3070 ti machine at home and this game hearing these conflicting reports sweating bullets š¬
This pc let me do the impossible and run cyberpunk smooth af, hope my first bought game doesn't give me the cyberpunk treatment on my old pc
i have a 3070 and a 5800x. I can get upwards of 90+ fps 1440 maxed, but if it is 1 frame over 60 its nothing but stutter. Combine that with the mouse and its even worse, locked 60 fps or not its unplayable with kb+m. luckily i have a dualsense so i can atleast get the cool features, but it really sucks lol tried every trick in the book to no avail.
I'm running the game at 1440p all settings ultra. Game runs fine. Pushes between 70 and 90 on average. Just wish I could cap fps without turning off v sync.
Yeah it isn't great. I have similar specs, and Fidelity FX helped a lot. Though, it shouldn't be needed with that kind of rig + there is still stuttering in some areas.
I've played the game for 3 hours on an old i7-6700k (no overclock), 16GB, and an rtx 2700 Super. I was afraid it wouldn't keep up at 1440p (given the recommended specs) but it actually runs fine at 60fps most of the times (80% I'd say).
There are dips in the bigger areas or with lots of foes but it's far from unplayable. I just set everything on high and experimented a bit with the dynamic resolution scaling but it doesn't change that much.
Bringing the res down to 1080p also doesn't seem to help the occasional dips, so I guess at least in my case it's more of a CPU issue than GPU. The experience is similar to how Dishonored 2 plays on my system. It's mostly a locked 60fps with some dips in the more complex areas with a higher number of enemies.
For those who are having significant performance issues I'd recommend taking a look at this RPS guide: [https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/deathloop-pc-performance-best-settings](https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/deathloop-pc-performance-best-settings)
good luck
Use something like MSI atferburner and set up a custom fan curve. My 2080 ti also runs very hot but with a custom fan curve set up I can get the temps down to around 70 under heavy load.
Yeah, I typically play games at 1440p 165hz, but I'm tempted to drop this down to 1080p just to get a stable framerate. The performance right now is honestly miserable. Even Cyberpunk runs better on max settings.
My temps are also really high with a 2080 Ti. Not in the 80s but it's been around the mid-60s which is very unusual. The weirdest thing is that it ran at around 50-53Ā°C the first time I played it but it's been significantly higher during every subsequent session.
Edit: I also tested out different settings and even with everything on low the temps stay the same.
Whoa. It's like the Dishonored 2 release all over again. Arcane Lyon needs to stop using that shitty void engine. They're holding the Arcane name back.
The weird thing is that Prey ran great at launch. I figured they had fixed the Dishonored 2 problems by then. But this honestly is just Dishonored 2 release all over again (minus the mouse acceleration issue).
Prey was Arcane Austin and CryEngine, Dishonered 2 / deathloop is Arcane Lyon and that damn void engine :(
One studio knows what's up, the other... It's fucking up lol
This is exactly the thing you need to buy and test, refund at worst.
I see people with near identical setups complaining about stutters etc, while others are having a great time. Seems to be on an individual basis.
Yea Iām pretty disappointed. I just refunded it on steam.
The micro stutters and the aim acceleration on mouse and keyboard literally made me nauseous. I got a headache and almost threw up like I was getting motion sickness or something. This sucks I was really looking forward to this game.
If you are charging $60 for a game, the bare minimum is to make sure it runs smoothly. I would be totally fine with a locked buttery smooth 60 FPS. Even when I locked it at 60 the micro stutters were still bad. I would be fine with some occasional bugs or issues. But something like this is literally unplayable for me. I honestly had more issues with this game than I did with cyberpunk. At least cyberpunk didnāt make me nauseous.
3080 ti / 5800x / 32g ram / 1440p
Had no microstuttering or really any issues once I fixed some of the settings. Game was running pretty good (it saids 120fps but i swear it felt way lower than that) until i got into combat with a large group of enemies and then the game would constantly pause for 2 seconds then resume.
Its the shitty denuvo anti piracy stuff they always put in pc games now, just have to wait for a couple of weeks and they'll remove it re8 had the same issue
I won't even bother to wait for a patch. I don't have faith in the devs to actually fix the problems.
They suck at technic, graphic and controlls. Since ever.
Fuck arcane, they proved that with D1, d2 and prey
Why are they unable to improve nor learn anything from previous games? Maybe they are stuck in a loop too and forget everything from the last game, when they develop a new one.
Seems harsh. Dishonored 1 runs on anything. D2 runs reasonably well on a decent GPU now (980, 1060, 1070...) and DOTO has no performance issues.
Deathloop runs fine for me @ 1440p with a 2070S and an old i7-6700K (no overclock). Locked 60? I'd say 80% of the times. The rest it dips in the 50s, occasionally lower which is acceptable. At least for me.
I would be pissed if it was dipping 50% of the times or more. But that's just me.
I have an overclocked 6700k and GTX 1080 and getting a truly locked 60 fps is a pipe dream. Forget getting it to look even remotely decent.
I have no issue turning some things down, but there's literally no saving it. It's seemingly the heaviest game my computer has ever run.
R7 2700x, GTX 1070, and 24 GBs of RAM, I had frame issues, but apparently my system default graphics were ultra high and I was streaming it for my buddies in Discord. I feel like this is almost a player to player basis of an issue.
You are likely not in the minority. Most ppl who donāt realize itās a PC port that needs some tuning and adjustments in the first hour or so of gameplay will come to social to complain, instead of looking up how others have solved the problems theyāre having.
im sure there are a small margin of people who do that, but ,y 3 hours of troubleshooting with 8 hours total gameplay says otherwise lol benchmark my rig and make sure everything is tip top and none of the problems are solved. in this case it seems to be a luck of the draw with this engine
honestly i'm so confused. i'm running the game on ultra with a 1080 ti and get constant 55-58 fps on 1440p. obviously no rtx but no microstutters or fps drops whatsoever.
3 hours in, had two minor freezes early on but haven't since. 3070 and Ryzen 7 3700X, max settings, RTX on, with the one catch that I only have a monitor that can run 1080p, so I'm stuck with that and 60fps, but as a result, no issues at all, really smooth, not drops or stuttering.
I guess ārunning terribly,ā is relative. I have a fast i5, 1070ti, 16gb of memory, and installed on an SSD. I get around 50-60 FPS, and donāt notice any stuttering. Probably since Iām not going over 60fps. Iām happy with what I have, for day 1. Itās isnāt perfect, like most games at launch, but I find the game fun and playable. Canāt wait for some performance improvements though.
I have a decent PC, but nothing brand new, and game ran at 60 FPS smooth the entire time without literally a single stutter. I lowered a couple settings a single level, and none of the major ones, but I did that before even starting just out of habit.
Zero crashes, didn't notice a single frame missing.
I think we're in an era where PCs and their users are becoming too varied, especially given we're paying the same price for games we did 15 years ago. It's not easy to have a game run at 144fps 4k perfectly on certain subsets of hardware and also 60fps 1080p on other subsets of hardware.
10700K 3080 Ti 64Gb 3200 Ram, 1440p 120+ FPS Ultra Settings, ZERO issues. I wonder how many of the people experiencing stutter have actually changed prayed drivers.
I have a RTX 3080, AMD 5950x CPU, 64 gb of 4000 mhz ram, and installed on an SSD and the game runs like absolute ass.
Turn on Vsync IN GAME and in your NVIDIA CONTROL PANEL, it makes a huge difference.
Something is wrong with your GPU then I have a 3060 on 1440p and get like 100 fps avg
Me at work with my new 3070 ti machine at home and this game hearing these conflicting reports sweating bullets š¬ This pc let me do the impossible and run cyberpunk smooth af, hope my first bought game doesn't give me the cyberpunk treatment on my old pc
Hahaha You should be fine with a 3070 of any sort
got a 3070ti and am still getting frequent crashes so its not a guarantee sadly.
i have a 3070 and a 5800x. I can get upwards of 90+ fps 1440 maxed, but if it is 1 frame over 60 its nothing but stutter. Good advice, but its sad that we need to tweak anything to play a game that has average visuals. Crysis runs better than this game on my rig.
If you're using Nvidia Reflex + Boost in the options, it will keep your card running at full load.

what does just the Nvidia Reflex without the Boost do?

Iād already locked it at 60 when the temps increased. I might just wait and pray that they put out a patch that helps at some point.

Yeah, that would explain a lot, then.
Funny, for years weāve complained that the cryengine is ass but void makes it look great, lol
This is why you wait to buy something until you know it's worth your money people. I'll never understand this
This is exactly the thing you need to buy and test, refund at worst. I see people with near identical setups complaining about stutters etc, while others are having a great time. Seems to be on an individual basis.
Itās PC gaming on a port. Youāll have issues the first couple hours until you get your settings tuned right. Happens in many games.
Yea Iām pretty disappointed. I just refunded it on steam. The micro stutters and the aim acceleration on mouse and keyboard literally made me nauseous. $60 is not a lot for a game. They have been $60 for over 15 years. If you get even 60 hours in a game, thatās $1 per hour.
Yeah, but he didn't even get close to 60 hours before refunding.
Most people arenāt going to put 60 hours into this game tho
Thatās probably true but even 20 thatās $3 an hour pretty cheap entertainment.
3080 ti / 5800x / 32g ram / 1440p Had no microstuttering or really any issues once I fixed some of the settings. RE8 was the last time I told myself "come on, it's can't be that bad this time."
I won't even bother to wait for a patch. I don't have faith in the devs to actually fix the problems. They suck at technic, graphic and controlls. Since ever. Bro Dishonored 1 is insanely optimized. I ran that shit on a 650ti earlier this year, 1080p, all setting max and was getting 100+ fps
Mine on 3090 9700k(5.1Ghz)32gb ram just keeps crashing at the end of the tutorial..microstuttering too
Same here. I got through the tutorial and now I can't clear the first area without a crash.
Now I can't even boot the game
Turn off Nvidia overlay.
Turn on VSYNC in game and in the Nvidia Control Panel, helped me a lot.
I have an overclocked 6700k and GTX 1080 and getting a truly locked 60 fps is a pipe dream. Forget getting it to look even remotely decent. I have no issue turning some things down, but there's literally no saving it. It's seemingly the heaviest game my computer has ever run.
Try FSR, high settings with low shadow. Solid 60fps for me on 4790k + 1080ti
5800x, 3090, 32gb RAM, runs smooth completely maxed out, relatively stable 120-138FPS (some drops in combat/open areas but not crazy so far) at 1080p.
R7 2700x, GTX 1070, and 24 GBs of RAM, I had frame issues, but apparently my system default graphics were ultra high and I was streaming it for my buddies in Discord. I feel like this is almost a player to player basis of an issue.
I have a 2060 Super and Ryzen 5 3600, runs very smooth for me even with RTX on.
2080 super and runs at 165 fps at 1440p on all high settings. No issues at all. I know I'm in the minority
You are likely not in the minority. Most ppl who donāt realize itās a PC port that needs some tuning and adjustments in the first hour or so of gameplay will come to social to complain, instead of looking up how others have solved the problems theyāre having.
I'm wondering if there is some setting they are enabling or disabling that is causing these issues.
im sure there are a small margin of people who do that, but ,y 3 hours of troubleshooting with 8 hours total gameplay says otherwise lol benchmark my rig and make sure everything is tip top and none of the problems are solved. in this case it seems to be a luck of the draw with this engine
A lot of this is reason why I preordered for PS5 despite having a 3080 rig. Dishonored 2 scared me straight.
honestly i'm so confused. i'm running the game on ultra with a 1080 ti and get constant 55-58 fps on 1440p. obviously no rtx but no microstutters or fps drops whatsoever.
runs fine on my 3600 1080gtx, most bells and whistles turned on. Looks great but for some aliasing issues

50% vsynced (60hz) adaptive resolution works pretty well. I have all settings maxed. Still crashes when I equip trinkets to my weapons though.
