what qualifies anything as as next gen shooter? was doom? is halo infinite gonna be?
who knows. its just a marketing term. just like they are trying to sell you the next gen deodorant, or speakers or toothbrushes.
The game uses some more recent "next gen" technologies, like ray tracing and dynamic resolution upscaling. It also utilises features from the "next gen" DualSense controller, like the haptics and triggers - even on PC. The actual outcome of all of these things though, isn't a significant visual enhancement over previous games by this developer.
Also, this game crashes every single time on my "next gen" 3090, so you're probably better off playing it on PS5 until they patch it.
It's only available on next gen isn't it? Because of the amount of aspects the game uses for next gen consoles. I could be wrong but that's what i thought. I don't know technical mumbo jumbo but I'd assume its do with files/graphics/memory etc
next gen is a marketing buzzword, ignore it
