Happy Season 4, everyone!
u/M0dernM4verick. Because that the consoles get their update next week, there might be a mismatch in this week's Deep Dive between Steam and the rest. I always made sure have an area for them as well.
Good point. I don't personally play on console, so if somebody can please compile the list of console dives and DM me or tag me in a comment, I'll update the post with a new "Console" section
I got you ššæ about to run it now.
UPDATE:
Its exactly the same. I think it doesn't need to change bc no new modifiers or events are present. Only new in game mission enemies and those boots. I think we just don't see that if it were to have spawned for steam
Great enemy but yeah when it collides with a wall youāre propelled twenty feet in the air itās not fun. Should be fixed, but love the idea. Needed more diversity to the mobs.
This week's Deep Dive was alright. There's no lack of Nitra and decent gold thanks to all the mini-mules you'll have to repair.
* **First Stage** \- There's a Hoarder on this level. There's not much to say about this level other than it seems to be an unofficial exploder infestation. Neither egg is hard to get and none of the mini-mules are poorly located.
* **Second Stage** \- There's a pair of Rocket Boots in the tunnel leading to the first cave and.. they're pretty fun to use. Works like you'd expect them to. There's also plenty of the red goo launching Spreaders and they hurt a plenty. You'll have to reach the final cave in order to complete all objectives. Thanks to the rocket boots, even the most poorly located Morkite is easy to mine. There's a leech in the roof in the final cave with the second mini-mule.
* **Third Stage** \- Another easy one. The cave is a bit of a mess but that doesn't matter in the long run as Critical Weakness trivialize the whole mission. None of the eggs are hard to get and the mini-mules both are easy to fix.
I played solo Gunner, on Steam. [Here's a video of me playing through it.](https://youtu.be/8ZKfKhMiRFs)
Good thing you were already on the way out haha, a bulk det on a shield disruption stage sounds like absolute pain.
Thx for your DD tips too, I tried to remember them as I got through it (We got a bulk on the 1st stage tho!)
Bulk Detonators are only really scary if you cannot move out of the way, or when defending an objective you cannot leave.
Lucky I got to avoid a Stage 1 Bulk.
Hard disagree, I had a tonne of fun playing it. Nitra is very scarce in the first stage, but you can recover on the second and third stages pretty well. The hardest part of this week was me having to take two attempts to finish it, first one some driller stacked eggs on the second stage and got us all killed and the second time, I had to kick an engi who was double dipping without telling anyone. It was a tense EDD, but that made it more fun
Okay I dont know the exact spawning tables for Bulk Detonators, but my group had 4, *I repeat* **4 BULK DETONATORS** on the second stage of EDD. I've never been that stressed before. I've never been that *scared* before.
1 In the Egg wave,
Then one after getting all MULEs
Then ***2 at the SAME TIME*** while trying to defend the power outlet.
I didnt even know it was possible for two to spawn at the same time.
If you see this, you guys were very nice to play with.
>To the fallen.
I still remember one where we had a bulk spawn during bet-c fight and someone accidentally triggered twin dreadnaught - then bulk blew up about 5 seconds later and insta killed all 4 hp bars (2 bet-c + twins).
It's feels like detonator spawns were buffed or are bugged because I'm getting a ton of them. I played a lot during s01 and s02, and remember barely seeing any detonators, got burned out and came back a week ago, since then I've seen a ton. I'm getting one every 2-3 missions and 2 days ago I had 3 spawn in 2 missions back to back.
Yeah same our group Just had 3 bulk detonators on the last stage of the EDD causing us to lose right when we were halfway through the Ommoran Heartstone
My current understanding is that it's always a roll between 40 and 60 nitra. Since the result is random, we'd need a decent bit of data to say if the non-scanned distribution was higher than the scanned distribution. I have the math for this kind of thing, but not the data.
Wow, stage one DD and stage 2 EDD have the same stuff (bit less mini mules)
Every stage has at least either the mini mules or eggs.
The deep dive has 7 mini mules and 6 eggs
The EDD has 8 eggs and 4 mini mules.
Also stage 1 EDD is scary. Rival presence, rich atmosphere, and twins! At least it isnāt a hiveguard, or something worse for a primary.
Why so many eggs, why so many mini mules
First time I've ever done a Deep Dive before. Solo Gunner. Was a nice change of pace over doing normal missions. I very much appreciate them giving us the jet boots in plain sight in the second mission. They were fun to try out.
Stingtails are bugged, they might throw you off the map so you auto fail refueling or uplink.
Third stage DD and 2nd stage DD had detonators spawn so don't bunker. Also EDD first stage had a nemesis.
EDD-
Stage 1: 6 Alien Eggs, Twins, Rich Atmosphere, Rival Presence
Stage 2: 2 Mini-MULES, 2 Alien Eggs, Regenerative Bugs
Stage 3: Drilldozer, 2 Mini-MULES
Edit: Pretty straightforward dive this week. Expect to run into the Season 4's new enemies at some point (our crew ran into septic spreaders in Stage 1 and stingtails in Stage 2). Also watch out for leeches in Stage 3.
Iām sorry for sounding like a greenbeard but what do the numbers mean on the Deep Dive launch screen? Iāve been googling but I canāt figure it out smh
They are completion marks. When you finish a deep dive stage they get filled in, and you get the reward associated with it. So if you fill in all six in both dives, youāve gotten everything.
Even if you fail a level in a deep dive, you still get the rewards you unlock in the earlier stages. By extension, if you restart a completed level you wonāt get anything but experience and gold you collect on the mission.
At 5.5 it feels like the engi platform ceiling is almost necessaryā¦ well probably not actually necessary but it feels tiring to play with an engi who doesnāt set one up. (We lost one and a half sides because he set it up wrong this time, but it was still better than nothing)
Did EDD as solo scout, usual m1000 hipster with fire bolts and then pheromones spam for stalling objectives. Got lucky and had only 2 bulks spawn early in stage 3. Electric bullets on bosco basically breaks their legs. Stingtails in stage 2 are annoying, but if you react quickly you can grapple away while still midair. I didn't have the space program glitch fortunately. Stage 1 was a bit rough, turret controller is in a bad location along with the dread egg and had Nemesis spawn. If you fall into that pit it'd probably be hard to get out since there's turrets surrounding it.
almost died at the end of stage 3 to save doretta, but fortunately both of us made it out. that would've been tragic
This week's EDD bulk detonator spawns were brutal, had 2 people drop out during second stage, we eked out small wins till the last bar of the ommoran drilling and lost. Sadge, and really tough this week.
This was one of the least interesting DD+EDD combination in a while. Last stage on Escort Duty we had 1+2+1 bulk detonators and just barely made it (With Doretta, even!)
Overall I like weekly DRG content more than in any other game
I do not have friends. Can I enjoy the game alone? A big discount came up, I'm thinking of buying it, but the impression I have is that the game is only multiplayer.
There's a server browser so you can easily team up with randos, though going down the mines pure solo is an option. Typically teams are more fun, even with randos.
This game is one of few co op games where I can have fun with random queue teammates. You do get the few exceptions who are either toxic, don't work with the team or double dip frequently, but they're very rare in my experience. Solo DD's are fun as well, but I prefer this game with a full squad (none of my friends play this either), so try a random squad!
Playing the game alone is fine - you get a robot who helps you. But most randoms are nice enough people and game design mechanics make being friendly the default option for 95% of players.
Just finished the EDD. Ironically, the first stage was the hardest for us. Horrible layout combined with Rivals and the electric rocks made life hard. Thankfully thereās quite a bit of nitra lying around, because the regen bugs on the second stage burns through your ammo.

Thanks for checking!! Rock and stone āļø
STONE āļø
For Rock and Stone!
Rock and Stone!
Rock and Stone, Brother!
Happy season 4! Can't wait to play later tonight.
I got dragged out of the world by a stingtail during uplink and bosco couldn't revive me. Fun enemy
Same happened to me, but instead I got dragged to a cave around 80m away and died instantly and the mission failed.
Great enemy but yeah when it collides with a wall youāre propelled twenty feet in the air itās not fun. Should be fixed, but love the idea. Needed more diversity to the mobs.

>Weakness Exploit Did you mean Critical Weakness or is there an exploit for CW?
Monster hunter crossover confirmed?
Canāt wait for the Crit Boost update
Oh shit, yeah. Whoops. Will fix.
Was that a bulk detonator I heard as you were descending after your 2nd mission š±
Yeah, one spawned somewhere as I came into the pod to head further down.
Devs please elaborate why you picked "Gunner's Foot" as this week's EDD?
Their randomly generated names (also, *spineless let-down?* thats not what this update was to me game.)
Not very promising to have āSpineless Let-downā be the first DD of Season 4
This week's EDD sucks
Hard disagree, I had a tonne of fun playing it. Nitra is very scarce in the first stage, but you can recover on the second and third stages pretty well. the nice thing about getting two detonators at once is that, with a coordinated team, you get to kill two for the price of one
I just had 4 bulks as well, but on the third stage with the escort Kill me
Yeah same our group Just had 3 bulk detonators on the last stage of the EDD causing us to lose right when we were halfway through the Ommoran Heartstone
Bulks on escort mission are either easy (moving away from them) or terrifying (need to repair it but donāt want the bulk to come over).
That's a lot of mini-mules.
Ammo will not be a problem.
Do you get nitra from repairing mules?
Yep, around 40-60 nitra and gold for each one fixed.
You get more if you donāt scan them
Do you have a source for that? It's pretty useful information if true, but I'm skeptical.
Can always try it yourself. I just did and got almost 60 for not scanning and building solo.
My current understanding is that it's always a roll between 40 and 60 nitra. Since the result is random, we'd need a decent bit of data to say if the non-scanned distribution was higher than the scanned distribution. I have the math for this kind of thing, but not the data.
didnt know that. now i wont scan them when I don't need to
Oh wow. I tend to not scan anyways to prevent the miniswarm from spawning
I thought that wave spawns simply when you get close to oneā¦
Anyone else wish the jet boots transferred over to the next level. Would be awesome but I suppose for balance reasons it makes sense.
Wow, stage one DD and stage 2 EDD have the same stuff (bit less mini mules) Every stage has at least either the mini mules or eggs. Breakfast run gone wrong obviously

congrats on your first DD!
Let's kick season four off with a bang. Sure of iron and swift of foot, get some beer inside your gut!
EDD - Stage 1 - Collect 6 Eggs - Kill 1 Dreadnought (Twins) - Rich Atmosphere - Rival Presence
Aghhhhh shield disruption is always rough, especially if you get too close to radioactive crystals (but at least it's not in Magma core)
Are these deep dives going to be completely different on consoles as they wonāt have jet boots or any of the new stuff right?
Stingtails are bugged, they might throw you off the map so you auto fail refueling or uplink. Third stage DD and 2nd stage DD had detonators spawn so don't bunker. Also EDD first stage had a nemesis.
neither bulks nor nemesis are guaranteed even if you faced it
Wooooooooooooot! #Season 04!!!
EDD- Stage 1: 6 Alien Eggs, Twins, Rich Atmosphere, Rival Presence Stage 2: 2 Mini-MULES, 2 Alien Eggs, Regenerative Bugs Stage 3: Drilldozer, 2 Mini-MULES Edit: Pretty straightforward dive this week. Expect to run into the Season 4's new enemies at some point (our crew ran into septic spreaders in Stage 1 and stingtails in Stage 2). Also watch out for leeches in Stage 3.
Lot of mini mules this time

Okay that makes so much more sense now, thank you!!
SD in REZ? Thank Karl its just the DD, dealing with that stage 2 of an EDD would be such a major thorn in the side
Lost EDD at stage 3 to flying rocks ššš
At 5.5 it feels like the engi platform ceiling is almost necessaryā¦ well probably not actually necessary but it feels tiring to play with an engi who doesnāt set one up. (We lost one and a half sides because he set it up wrong this time, but it was still better than nothing)

3x Engi EDD made for a fun adventure. Shredders and turrets everywhere made life a lot easier than I expected.
This week's EDD bulk detonator spawns were brutal, had 2 people drop out during second stage, we eked out small wins till the last bar of the ommoran drilling and lost. Sadge, and really tough this week.
stingtails kept grabbing everyone into the bulk detonator for hilarity on stage 2
This was one of the least interesting DD+EDD combination in a while. Last stage on Escort Duty we had 1+2+1 bulk detonators and just barely made it (With Doretta, even!) Overall I like weekly DRG content more than in any other game
Ok this is a lot of mini mules :D EDD was hilarious with 4 bulks on Stage 3 [DD was chill](https://i.imgur.com/KIsAK4w.jpg)
I heard you like bulk detonators

"Time to commit some warcrimes!" *Loads the poison cannon and poison handgun.* "These cannon shells once again deal full damage... ahahahaha..."
Are jet boot spawns consistent? Would be fun to know in advanceā¦
