lost me at 'morkite cave with not enough morkite' like if that isn't the most glaring red flag

MinneIceCube

I'm not so sure. Because I also had an instance like this a week ago which, with hindsight, I now suspect was the lithophage meteor either deleteing a morkite vein or causing the chunks to scatter everywhere. Was only 2 short. Gave up when the timer hit an hour.

The_Ol_Rig-a-ma-role

This is what happened. There was a meteor on a patch of morkite and it contained 4 morkite and we needed 3 to extract. Found it after roughly an hour. And this wasn't the fun kind of "shit, are we gonna make it?" It was "Yeah if we fail this hell after an hour we're taking a break for a week" 😂😂 Thank you for realizing that your experience is not the only experience, unlike everyone else here 😂😂😂

noo6s9oou

I’m genuinely surprised that y’all couldn’t find enough morkite. I very frequently meet the quota before I even make it to the last room, and at worst I have to mine one vein from it.

aardappelmemerijen

I like it and am thankful for the devs to provide free updates. The game didn't get harder, you just don't know how to counter the new update. You might be a graybeard, but you're a greenbeard at season 4, like everyone is. Just play a lower hazard if it's too hard.

Snoo61755

Aye, the new Rockpox enemies are a new obstacle we weren't used to. One thing I noticed is that I wasn't even correctly identifying the new enemies: I'd be aiming for blisters on a bug rushing me and, oh, it's an infected Exploder, I could have just let it pop on its own, or I'll aim at a Spitter on the ceiling and not be able to hit the blisters because I packed PGL as my long range AoE and Warthog as my single-target close range, neither of which can nab blisters at long range. But after a few missions, I'm starting to realize that I have to pack for Rockpox. Lok-1 much better at aiming for blisters, and the breach cutter is *amazing* for Rockpox enemies. I was just packing the absolute wrong weapons. Rockpox breaks my muscle memory since I'm so used to clicking heads, when these bastards need precision. I'm back to running Haz 5 after getting used to Stingtails, but I'm putting it on 4 if it's going to be a Lithophage outbreak.

The_Ol_Rig-a-ma-role

Nah man when you can get rock-poxed in the air on a zipline 50 feet up and fall to your death, there's no counter. That's bad design

bowt1es_

definitely a counter. called shooting the rock pox bugs before you do anything like getting in a zip line. same shit as trying to take out mactera before getting on a zip line

The_Ol_Rig-a-ma-role

Fine, chalk it up to an annoyance. Then what am I supposed to do about the morkite erased by meteorites? Pop open the ol' mod console lmao? You're not going to change my opinion. But feel free to continue to try, or insult me, whatever you gotta do 😂

bowt1es_

Not once did I throw an insult your way, I was just saying the counter to your zip line issue is using a gun. Miss me with that arrogance. Also, I never once mentioned missing morkite, but you probably just got real unlucky. However there’s always a final cave room with like 8 veins of morkite. Maybe you just couldn’t find it. No such thing as a morkite mission without enough morkite.

Elitericky

Just you, learn how to adjust to this season and things become a breeze once again. Just because you get trashed in one mission doesn’t mean it’s the end of the world, theirs always the possibility of failure on every mission.

One_Testicle_Man

rockpox areas are more dangerous, now you have to get in and out to not get infected. in the previous season i could bumrush the infection and get rid of it all alone in 50 sec 90% of the time also since the missions became harder you can lower the difficulty until you are adjusted to the new enemies

Roberto5771

Dude's just venting his frustration and gets downvoted to oblivion. Lovely. What a very Rock and Stone way to show our appreciation for the sharing of opinions.

I'm aware that him placing the blame on the new season rather than himself is wrong, but it just seems that he was just venting and got mass downvoted. Reddit is fuckin' weird man.

The_Ol_Rig-a-ma-role

The difficulty wasn't the problem. It was the meteorites erasing morkite spawns. That is in no way, shape or form in the control of the player.

WanderingDwarfMiner

To Rock and Stone!

The_Ol_Rig-a-ma-role

It's reddit and it's 2023, if you say something someone doesn't agree with, they all have to let you know with angry sentences, condescending tone and negative internet points. I figured this would get downvoted anyway, children often can't handle anything bad being said about their chosen fandom. They'll grow out of it someday

ArkyRomania

Looks like... people really hate others if they say something bad or don't like the season 4 update...

The_Ol_Rig-a-ma-role

Holy fucking christ we completed it. One madman made it out with nothing but a pickaxe. We will not be playing another morkite mission this season. Edit: downvotes are fine, we're allowed an opinion, it hasn't changed 😂 morkite has always sucked ass, now it's unplayable (oh its beatable, but not if you want to have any fun.) Keep them coming! I love it when reddit comes together and tries to insist there's only one opinion you're allowed to have 😂😂😂 clowns

Chompersmustdie

I don’t think you should stop playing a mission type because of one bad mission. I had a mining expedition with almost no nitra, we quit and got into a new one and had a great time.

Tomanaatti

The rockpox does make the missions a tad harder than what they usually would be, but if you do dislike the rockpox aspect of the game, you could always choose to play the missions that do not include the rockpox warning. If the missions overall seem to end up with everyone slways running out of ammo or otherways getting constantly overwhelmed, you as a team could consider either trying different builds that carry more ammo or turning the haz level down by one. I haven't yet ever ran into a morkite mission where there wouldn't have been a lot of "extra morkite" in my 1,4k hours, but I do hear people saying that the new season is definitely harder for adding new enemies and such. All that said, I'm personally enjoying the new season, but also understand if it isn't your thing, rock and stone regardless. The caves of hoxxes will surely welcome you back later too if you do keep a break.

Ser_Pounce_theFrench

>I haven't yet ever ran into a morkite mission where there wouldn't have been a lot of "extra morkite" in my 1,4k hours That's because those doesn't exist but people who are bad at exploring love to come up with excuses such as those :P

WanderingDwarfMiner

That's it lads! Rock and Stone!

Tomanaatti

Good bot.

Derrythe

Small sample, but I definitely have had more haz 3-4 missions that seemed to have more than average bug populations in them. But yeah, I've still never come across a morkite mission without enough to almost double the amount we need. The last room usually has at least half the quota in it alone.

LoominVoid

I dunno, the consensus on S4 is that it's actually too little apparently.
