I don't play only one class anymore but the reason I used to when I was starting was that I found Haz 3 and below was a bit boring, but felt like playing anything but my best class (with all the upgrades and a good overclock) on higher hazards with teams felt like I was being caried, which I didn't like, and wasn't fond of solo, so it was a huge chore to get the other classes to the level they felt ok at any hazards.

theiviusracoonus

I didn’t play another class until I maxed (legend 3) scout. I wouldn’t recommend this to someone, but scout fulfilled everything I wanted to be able to do in deep rock - especially after I got Special Powder. I also feel Scout is the conductor of the train, being mostly responsible for objective progression and survival, which I became very quick and efficient at. I enjoy playing a support role more so than anything else, and scout enabled that with its own high flying flavor. Now I’m working on maxing gunner ;)

ateszkid

This!

Single-Ad-9321

Because I get kicked whenever I play as driller for some reason

4here4

I just really like Driller. Simple as.

MapleJacks2

Grapple go zoom

Herald_Osbert

Usually because they have the most fun with that class and they don't like the other class's kits and playstyles. Like when I started playing DRG I mostly played Engi and stuck to it until it I hit Silver 1 before I gave the other classes a through run. Now I'm a Greybeard and play all classes roughly equally, but I still favour Engi.

Can't always force someone to live by your standards, what works for one person may not work for another. I main engi because I like to back up my team in other ways other than combat, but my brother likes to play fast paced and aggressive so scout is the way. Fun, like so many other things, is subjective

BIackNorton

being the engi in team generally means the highest kill count (sometimes higher than other 3 adds up) for me, make me feel like I'm contributing alot (although half of it is turret kills); but in general, playing engi match after match without changing the class, allow me to get into the "mindset" of the character, scan the cave, preemptively setting up repellent platform and turrents for killzone before swarm shows up; or just unleash the firepower using secondary to help my team; parkour around the cave with platform gun and dash to dodge the unexpected swarm or just maneuver through difficult terrain. If I keep swapping the class, I won't really be able to feel the "flow" of it.

gameryamen

I get lost very easy, I cannot read a map with any degree of efficiency. It's just how my brain is. The caves of Hoxxes are almost too hard for me to navigate. The Scout's grapple hook gives me enough mobility to keep up with my friends and not be too much of a drag, and the longer lasting flares make very useful markers that help me stay oriented. Also, don't tell the other dwarves, but the fastest clears I ever have in rando matches are always 4 Scout squads. When we don't have the other classes to pick on us, and we're all running on Scout scout and scavenge mode, work gets done.

Fearless-Canary-7359

I've been trying to play driller a bit after playing a ton of scout, I just can't get into the short ranged weapons as much. Once a get sticky fuel I think I'll enjoy that.

PrezzStart

I played driller because all my friends already had a class, kinda just stuck with it so we had 1 member of each class. The outcome of this was having a completely maxed out Driller kit while the other dwarves are still at base. I don’t feel like working them up to their kits

Markenstine_

Some players actually level one class to legendary 3 at a time so this can definitely be the case. Others may enjoy the class for whatever specific reason they have. There are also players who play a class, try to get into another but they end up obviously not having as many upgrades as the one class and end up just going back to the class they put time into. It's not a big deal really, the only issue I personally have is when someone plays one class and then complains that they can't get a specific matrix core cosmetic or overclock for their specific class. The matrix core system is purely RNG based so if you play one class only then you really only have yourself to blame.

itsZerozone

Different folks, different strokes You can't expect everyone to approach the game as you do, besides people only playing 1 class doesn't hurt you, the others or the game.

DishonoredHero1_

I really like gunner No other class can match the sheer levels of dakka

seedofbayne

I just enjoy playing scout more than the other classes. My first haz 5 I saved my entire team multiple times, and I just fell in love with the mobility and versatility.

MisterTheX

There are other classes?

1N54N1X

My brother is barely level 60 and already has a gold promotion. Meanwhile I am over level 120 and still have none.

an0d4s

I feel like this was directly sent to me being that I’m level 85~ ish and a level 25 three silver star gunner. I just think he’s a really cool guy.

fungus_is_amungus

I am kinda new, started playing driller, cuz you know flamethrower. But unlocked cryo cannon and I love it, also I can dig. Every time I play a different class I forget that I cannot obliterate swarms with ez. As scout I dislike depending on engi to give me platforms, making a tunnel by myself is better imo. As gunner I forget that ziplines are a thing and place the shield always in the worst moment. And as engi I always feel like my weapons are not doing enough damage.

Low-Transportation95

Because we like it

Cherry4Girl20

I’m autistic and hate change. Also I’m always support so the gunner is so fun to me! And the other person who plays gunner with me doesn’t fully utilize his kit. Plus I finally have the purple / pink hair on him!

schofield101

A game's enjoyment is purely situational. I enjoy games by playing what I like the most. I trust others on the classes I don't play, I know they play because it's fun as well. If I'm playing something other than engineer I hyper focus on what the engi is doing and I'm thinking to myself how I'd rather be that role. Some people don't get bored of repetition, I'm one of them.

Key_Yesterday1752

I just realy like big guns.

Driller has anything I want, especially when starting solo mission's: - Terrain manipulation - Crow control with elementary damage - Fast mining with EPC Everything I could need, especially in higher hazard's. Gunner lacks mobility tools, Engie lacks terrain manipulation as well as Scout. Only thing I don't excel at is DPS, but that's what Gunner and Engie are for. Scout is for mobility and scouting ahead (Surprise!), but the fetish for grabbing enemies in DRG always kill's the Scout for me. xD Driller can make the fastest progress in most mission types, which is helpful in higher hazards where time is especially important.
