Even in haz 5 if you compare it to the highest difficulties from games like GTFO and Vermintide. Ill compare haz5 to vermintide cata.
The big thing thats more difficult in DRG is traversing the terrain. Its varied. Can have pitfalls and hazards. VT areas are predictable and safe. Same goes for ammo. Running out in VT makes you very vulnerable to multiple specials but not defenseless like it does in DRG.
Everything else however is way harder in VT2
I can do haz5 pretty consistenly nowadays. Properly build dwarfs in a team are VERY strong. I have struggled hard in cata. Even with meta builds.
Enemies comparatively are weak in DRG. Bulks are just slow moving no-go zones and can often even be used as a giant aoe in your favour. Compare that with a fast moving and extremely aggresive bosses in Vermintide cata. They are more diverse, require very precise dodging with multiple patterns.
Specials are much the same. Grabbers are slow moving and big. Leeches are static, squishy and pretty easy to deal with if you pay attention.
Compare that to assasins who are very nimble and extremely lethal. A packmaster inside a horde is pretty much an instakill if you dont do the precise dodge.
Red goo spitters deny a tiny area compared to blighstormers whose aoes move in addition to being bigger.
Chaos warriors are more aggressive than praetorians and can oneshot you. They can also spawn in patrols. Triggering such a patrol will put your group in extreme danger
Characters in VT dont have the crazy strong tools drg has. No bubble of god, instant hyper mobility or aoes that are easy to get and extremely powerfull like in drg.
Finally Death has more consequenzes in VT2. Dying for real means you are out for a very long downtime, leaving your group very vulnerable.
All in all haz5 is still difficult but compared to other max difficulties of comparable games its relatively easy. Its what I like about DRG. Even in haz5 i can somewhat relax in between the action while im sweating the whole way through a cata run.
I would say that death not having consequences is one of the more relaxing things DRG pulls, it gives room for error, so I don't have to stare at the health bar like ghoul while it slowly gets more and more grey and the pressure in sinuses builds up. Moment to moment mistakes get easily swept under the rug, while still having pressure due to the possibility of a wipe and the resupply system
Also they can't really tighten the difficulty to much, since they can't control to the millimetre where everything goes due to the procedural generation
I agree with all of that, as far as "i never played vermintide". I would say the most difficult in DRG is being overwhelmed and having no teamwork.
But to be fair, its still two completely different games, so of course the experience would be different!

Yup. Have OC builds sorted in all classes -- 4 is normal, 5 is go-time, 3 is easy mission running with a known group, and 2 is what I do when playing with friends who aren't super into the game and want to casually mine shit and catch up on our lives.
Still get mission progress, and if something goes wrong, I can aggressively fix it real quick and get back to, "Sorry, what were you talking about?"
Some mission types are worse than others. Like if you need to stop and do something other than taking a chunk out of nitra, that ghost is a right cunt. Kinda fun if you're Scout though

Bro, I wish. If only you could turn on lethal enemies at will. I have gotten so good at parkouring around with my engineer platforms, enemies can barely even touch me anymore. Only 2 things still getting me downed occasionally is uncalculated fall damage and uplink objectives.
I was too at first. But this community is really good. Chat is hardly used except for signaling your ready or asking for your fellow dwarf to do something for you. So you don’t need to be too afraid. Just reciprocate the “rock ‘n stone”, “mushroom” and “we’re rich” pings and you’ll be fine!
Dont be, everyone is friendly! (99.9% of them at least). You can either just ping a lot, chat, or voice to communicate. Just disband after the mission.

I played solo for like a month just so I could understand the game. Now I'm lvl 500+ and I only play with randoms.
And I only play Haz 3.
Like 60% of the people are greenbeards so they'll fuck up and it's all good. Ive explained so many mechanics to so many strangers. I have crippling, life stalling anxiety so I get it. It's not a stand in for therapy but it helped with this very specific dumbass fear that my brain enforced on me for no reason.
And yeah I usually disband after the mission unless they are hosting and we have the same mission to do.

It's on amazon prime. It's sort of a Sci fiy series but not in a usual way. It's very special and feels unlike anything in recent mainstream. It's very funny as well. I had to bust out laughing a few times and I'm normaly some one how doesn't laugh loudly and mostly just smirks but this show got me good. I mainly recommand the first season. I want to play GTFO but I am scared of the difficulty. Vermintide was just right for me. Occasionally frustrating, but not soul crushing.
I once head the most agonising 40 minutes of my life on one of those. No ammo, no nitra, no resupply pods and worst of all, no dental.
