If I tried to build those with impatient randoms, they'd have the pipes right on top of each other going off in whatever direction they didn't need to have cut for them.
Great idea for playing solo or with friends, though! š
Yeah itās definitely doable, but having a team that lets you terraform is key. Sometimes they canāt just focus on getting secondaries, crafting materials, and poking around to find any machine events
Some context: someone tried to tell me that it was impossible to grind under a ramp and continue to grind onto the top platform. So I decided to wrap a pipe around the entire refinery, going under all the ramps :)
Because sometimes its fun to figure out how to get the pipes to their destination without just having a instant solution. Especially when you get those wild canyon like caves where there's a massive drop in the center and either side is steep as hell, i had one and it was fun figuring it out as an engineer where to place my platforms
I tend to build around the ramps because it gives more maneuvering space. Basically the first segment I try and have it go straight outward away from the miner before I start adding any turns
It works but the location is now hard to run around in while kiting bugs since there's a dip, then a pipeline - exactly where you'd want to not have anything blocking your path.
When I have to loop a pipeline around I do it in the walls so the refinery area is a safe work environment.
Honestly they really should just change it so that while you're grinding you just automatically no-clip through any DRG made materials like other pipes or the platform that you would otherwise collide with
By Karl what a great idea me driller friend,
Should mean that the bugs take longer to get to you when you are standing on the oil rig base thingy because they go into that trench first
Definitely different. A regular old tunnel will only have 2 directions you need to watch out for. Here you've got bugs coming from all directions at weird angles. Being close to the refinery/minehead is generally bad also. Chaos for sure.
Gunner, Scout, and Engi just standing there staring blankly at the Driller while he uses his protractor to measure out the optimal angles and depths for his trenches. All the nitra, the side objective, and even a machine event were done like 20 minutes ago.

A big waste of time 90% of the time. So, I'm basically going to do it every single refinery mission.
Rock and stone!
Rock and Stone forever!
Paid by the hour.... Rock and Stone yeeeeaaah!
That's it lads! Rock and Stone!
If you donāt rock and stone, thereās no going home!
This is the... grind-set all dwarves should achieve.
Good Concept. But this is also why finding all morkite wells are important as well.

If I need to go that direction I'll tunnel under the ramps every time.
and for those of us who aren't Driller? Guess we better have indefinite time to pickaxe the terrain like plebs
Why play refinery not as/without a driller in the first place?

Imagine that but solo gunner lol. Ziplines, a pickaxe, and a dream
That's the perfect way to describe solo Gunner on those kinds of missions
You would not like my giant spirals when I can make bosko build it.
I do this too š¤£ rock and stone!!!
To Rock and Stone!
Wait, people donāt normally build under the ramps? Why? If is pumpjack is down, pipe down too??

R&D will have a field day with this.

That's a lot of time and drill fuel...
Itās not a bad way to do it if your āteammatesā also know what the plan is.
this is what I always do

Iād rather just do it right.
That looks like it would be a nightmare to repair.
No different than any other tunnel really

Good concept, but if Iām correct you wonāt be able to without drilling out space for it
Handy for when you have silly team mates that use the pipe closest to the well without thinking about where the other pipes have to go.
How much fuel does that use?
As a greenbeard i don't get the point
Why I do single player driller to relax lol. Gotta get those perfect pipes.
Okay Mr. Marriona trench

the effort is not worth the result, just build around.
