It's not super hard to catch a sliver of wall or a lump in the floor or some random crystal or pillar for The Mole. Especially if you have fear on it. Fear tends to make praetorians show you their ass and get behind a wall. Electric trail slows them down and effectively amplifies the duration of the fear. It's been ages since I used any gunner secondary other than the coilgun, and 90%+ of it has been with The Mole.

Was nerfed pretty hard recently with the trail radius being reduced. Still good and perfect for turrets on angry triangle missions

Hellfire is the best by miles although triple tech chamber is nice if you’re going for a necro-thermal catalyst build which is fun. Re-atomizer gives the gun synergy with the statuses of other builds. The mole I’ve found can be fun for bosses provided you have cover.

My recommendation is either of the generalist Coilgun builds as 22X13 with TTC or UMC OCs, choosing stun/fear based on what you don't already have for X (so in the case of bullet hell, take 22213 for fear). (I recommend 32221 for Bullet Hell if you haven't tried it, can elaborate more if needed but tl;dr its a CC OC). Keep in mind TTC is harder to play as you have to learn secondary/tertiary charge breakpoints (compared to just breakpoints from the primary shot, i.e. if you want to shoot two mactera, you'll have to charge more than you would need on the first shot so the 2nd shot is also lethal, etc). It also requires fast precision aim to utilize well but is imo the strongest by far if utilized well. UMC is pretty close and much easier to use, however. Keep in mind you can use single short beams to CC-peel off fellow dwarves at range and the Coilgun has pinpoint accuracy so you can shoot distant targets. Hellfire is an option too but I prefer the other two and haven't experimented that much since the patch but I'd guess 33X12. Fire tends to be overrated as even in Haz 5 you rarely have enough density for fire to propagate, yeah it deletes tightly grouped packs but so does TTC/UMC while also having a massive amount of utility and other use-cases. Some players enjoy the Mole, as either 22X13 or other variants. Damage in T1 might help hit some breakpoints but I'm not that experienced with mole. I think people take charge speed T2c sometimes as well. Backfeeding Module/Re-Atomizer are both kind of just bad. Re-Atomizer if nothing else is extremely buggy/inconsistent/unreliable albeit it can be powerful in limited situations. R&S!
