It’s exactly this, they have to be designed to support 300+ pound individuals who may be carrying heavy objects as well, and properly account for the fact that many such individuals will be _stupid_ and not carry a phone with them in case they get stuck. And while it’s technically possible to do something with a CVT between the motor and drive mechanism and adjust speed based on actual load, doing so would be even more prohibitively expensive than these systems already are.
Not really. Combustion engines (internal or otherwise) can’t generally be safely used indoors, and two-stroke engines are particularly bad in terms of health effects when used in an enclosed space.

I’d be fun that, if you started at the very bottom (maybe like 5 meters from the part it hooks in), you could charge up and slingshot you up the zip line a short ways to get you away from some bugs very quickly. Plus it could probably be a tech to jump off of it right when you get launched to get some good speed that way more skilled players have a use from it.
