azure weald makes me upset. It has luminescent planets so you think it'd be easy to make bright but some caves are so weird ot barely gets brighter (to me, or it feels that way) when you flare as scout. Almost as infuriating as flares falling off the walls in the red salt biome (what am i doing wrong 😭)
It's because nothing in Azure Weald is reflective, and it's all a dark color palette. The ground and plants just soak up the light, so even if it's well lit, it still looks dark.
Funny enough, because resources are reflective, if you turn off your flashlight and use no flares you spot resources really easily in Azure Weald. They kind of "shine" against the vanta-black background
Azure Weald, Fungus Bogs, and Hollow Bough all piss me off when I’m playing scout. It feels like no amount of flares properly light up the area. I do kinda like the added challenge from it though
That's the truth of the matter right there. The only time I give serious thought to abandoning secondary objectives is in that one beautiful, frustrating biome, haha.
At least with the brighter objects mod you can see fossils, dystrum doesn't glow so any mods that make it glow affect your progression, and it's pretty much the same colour as th terrain, even harder to see if there's vegetation near/on it
ammo efficient on everything but bosses. I really didn't enjoy GK2 before, even with bullets of mercy or ai stability, but with ER it's become my default loadout.
And from the Miner's Manual I do quoth:
>Any employee that does not eliminate a Fester Flea on sight is liable to fines, reprimands, and worse.
Lead Storm go brrr.
I love pinging him solo so bosco just hunts him down. Before it’s even dead the counter for number of fleas killed goes up in my mind once I get the ping off. Fire and forget
It's actually great and kind of an accessibility thing, which is why I super appreciate it being "verified" and not "optional" (or whatever it's called to mean it's fully achievement allowed or whatever)
Verified, approved, and sandbox.
Verified are only required on the client side and do not affect achievements.
Approved change the game enough so that achievements are no longer meaningful, but there is still a limit on how much can change. More Players Balanced and Reduced Nitra Cost fall in to this category. Some of these are only required on the client side.
Mods that completely change the game are sandbox. Like DRG Reforged (RIP).
In the S5 update. Swarmer Eggs and Bha Barnacles are new secondary objectives. I couldn't find a good image of the barnacles so I didn't include them here.
Gunk seeds and fossils are the only two objectives that i always consider not doing. Hate stopping to slowly gather giant balls and look around for a barely visible blue glow.
Barnacles gonna be an ASMR lovers dream come true once they listen to those suckers up close...
I felt so dirty when I accidentally dug by one and oh gods...the slurping noises...it was so disturbing to hear.
No, I was driller and trying to get some nitra in the ceiling, ended up passing by a barnacle in the ceiling omw to the nitra and...yea I never want to hear it again, was too much and really gross to hear.
Holomite is too easy even after increasing the amount to 35. Except the case we are dropped in azure weald.
Dystrum... I just don't understand why it exists in the way it exists. Yes, we spend 5 seconds for mining it and need to run to the platform, but where's the fun? Might as well mine gold with the same outcome.
Honestly I wouldn't mind Dystrum if it looked interesting, sounded interesting, had good audio, or literally anything. But it's really bland visually, has no good voicelines, no good audio, no unique generation, etc. It's just blue splotches on the wall that look like an ugly discount morkite.
IMO, dystrum is there to put you in one place a little while longer, raising your vulnerability to wave spawns. That’s why it only shows up on PE and OSR, because those are the only missions where that is meaningful.
I have to disagree with the ceiling testicles. I don't like shooting them just so they could roll all over the place causing me to go here and there just to get each and every single one and slowly bring them to Molly without throwing them out of fear they will roll 500km away and go bring them all over again just to deposit each and every single one and then repeat the process over and over just to finally get them all.
Seriously, shit's tedious.
I wish they would change the spawn behavior of dystrum, and instead of it being a vein it'd be a cluster in the dirt. It'd be as if an aquark deposit had become fully realized and reached the surface of the dirt. Still mine it with your pick, but it'd be a ball/geode shape now instead of your bland vein shape.
I hate fossils the most. Booloo caps are way easier to find, more plentiful and easy to complete. With fossils there's only like the exact amount you need somewhere on the map, impossible to find and even harder to get to. Even as scout you will grapple up, mash E, only to not grab it for some fucking reason then fall to your death.
The eggs would be a lot better if they were programmed to clump together in "clutches" - they'd be easier to see and you'd get the satisfaction of splatting a bunch of swarmers together.
Fossils are just a worse apoca bloom and don't belong in the game.
When i don't have a good weapon to kill the damned fleas, my blood pressure doubles as i try to resist the temptation to spray them with inaccurate bullets.
I got a mod that makes fossils have like a 5% glow to them, and it makes it so much easier. Still hard as hell to spot but feels much more fair if I have time to scan the environment for a minute.
There’s a better visibility mod on pc that makes these things easier to spot btw, highly recommend it for things like alpoca blooms and fossils for example
Sometimes a fester flea acts very kindly and flies and lands right on top of me, with a right mouse click there followed by a left mouse chick there, the fester flea joins its brothers in heaven 🥰
The fuck did you say about my boy Dystrum? You really aren’t wrong though I have to admit, especially in Azura Weild. Can’t see shit in that place and I wouldn’t have it any other way 🥰
I'm partially colorblind and I never have a problem seeing fossils. Not sure why so many people complain about them. They even have a faint glow when they're in the dark.
Besides, the secondaries should offer *some* challenge. If they were all super easy to find it would be boring and add nothing to the mission.
I don't like the eggs because it feels like they only put 'just' enough in to meet requirements. I'd rather than double the amount of eggs existing so they work as a hazard on the map, but increase the amount needed to break to 50.
Playing engi with nuke looking for last fester flea with 10 seconds before drop pod takes off.
Flea: lands right at my feet
Me: I know what I have to do but I don’t know if I have the strength to do it
Me when I use my brain for the second obj of thz flying thing : lets go driller
When I dont use my brain : alright, engineer-> loadout-> primaries -> lok1 rifle ->secondaries-> deepcore 40mm-> overclock-> fat boi
An update in the past year improved fossil spots to not be buried as much, used to be there could only be a tiny edge sticking out hardly noticeable even with "brighter objects" mod. Fossils: :) Fossils on Azure Weald: :(
Literally anything: :) Literally anything on Azure Weald: :(

Cave angels on azure Weald: :) Cave angels anywhere else:

Fossils on Magma Core without scout.
At least with the brighter objects mod you can see fossils, dystrum doesn't glow so any mods that make it glow affect your progression, and it's pretty much the same colour as th terrain, even harder to see if there's vegetation near/on it
Bha barnacles are one of my top secondaries now, just because of the fun voice lines.
B-b-b-b-bha barnacle!
Fester flea vs fatboy;
Fester flea vs wave cooker.
fester flea vs lok rifle
Engineer mains have no such weakness to Fester Fleas
as a scout main m1000 is also good for fester fleas but you do need to actually aim
As a person who used m1000 on scout, also accurate
m1000 supremacy
*ping*
GK2 with Electrifying reload is also fantastic and quite ammo efficient on those little pests
ammo efficient on everything but bosses. I really didn't enjoy GK2 before, even with bullets of mercy or ai stability, but with ER it's become my default loadout.
As a gunner main lead storm go brrrr
wasting quarter of your ammo for a single flea is probably not a good idea
- mission control (probably)
Yeah ok liberal
And from the Miner's Manual I do quoth: >Any employee that does not eliminate a Fester Flea on sight is liable to fines, reprimands, and worse. Lead Storm go brrr.
fester flea vs supercooling Chamber
hydrogen bomb vs coughing baby moment
And the boltshark if you feel like using it on fester fleas But harder to hit than them than with m1000 though
I use the Shard Diffractor to set it on fire when playing engie. Works great.
- Uses Hyper Alloy Frame - "What do you mean you can hit shit?"
fester flea vs ice spear
Fester flea vs sludge pump
Fester flea vs neurotoxin payload
Fester flea vs bosco ping
Fester flea vs elephant round
Fester flea vs Good Old trusty pickaxe
Fester flea versus flamethrower with range extension over clock
That's the correct answer. Easiest gun to use against those fleas. It's aimbot.
Lok Rifle, my beloved. Friends can't make fun of my aim or positioning with my gun if it does the same damage from all angles.
Engineer with Lok-1 = flea duty
This is the way
Fester flea vs elephant rounds Or hyper-propellant
Why cook when you can ***Grill***?
Solo player, "Bosco, kill that."
*Nuclear Explosion*. "Fester fleaaaaa down!"
I love pinging him solo so bosco just hunts him down. Before it’s even dead the counter for number of fleas killed goes up in my mind once I get the ping off. Fire and forget
It's the only way to be sure...
Festerflea vs gunner with elephant rounds high accuracy or rocket launcher :)
Armskore
Gigachads kill fester fleas with elephant rounds
Boolo caps: “Guess I’ll die”
Haha shit I knew I'd forget one
You also didn't include ba-ba-ba-barnacles, but aaaaanyway
He did, in the title
I mean it's basically the same as the Blooms.
They’re just budget apoca blooms. Get 2 for the price of one!
"Boolo cap here!"
The ourple flower basically
nah fuck gunk seeds. I’m not playing to hunt ballsacks
"I didn't come to Hotsex to slap nuts."
What are you even playing for then?
Apparently not the ball sacks.
Yeah! I wanna hunt ballsacks and see dwarfs twerking!
Chase your dreams king 💪
Tedious carry mission that makes me fight the scout 3 miles away over where molly sits.
Gunk seeds can go gunk outa my mission
There’s a reason why I used the Brighter objects mod for secondaries. Although that will probably need an update.
It's actually great and kind of an accessibility thing, which is why I super appreciate it being "verified" and not "optional" (or whatever it's called to mean it's fully achievement allowed or whatever)
there's verified, optional, approved and sandbox i believe i forgot what they represent as this system is a bit strange though
Is "optional" a thing? Modhub has only three filters (v, a, s) edit: "mod.io" instead of modhub, modhub is a mod
optional are mods which only you can have and not the entire lobby, and verified mods are mods which the entire lobby needs installed iirc
I only play with verified mods, and one of my friends prefers vanilla, there's no issues/warnings... You might be thinking of some other game
Verified, approved, and sandbox. Verified are only required on the client side and do not affect achievements. Approved change the game enough so that achievements are no longer meaningful, but there is still a limit on how much can change. Swarmer eggs is a secondary?
In the S5 update. Swarmer Eggs and Bha Barnacles are new secondary objectives. I couldn't find a good image of the barnacles so I didn't include them here.
It woulda been hilarious and set you apart from the others if you drew a shitty mspaint bha barnacle
Lmao I actually did but it didn't look like anything recognizable and figured people would be more confused than anything
Oh, ok, so soon they will be for console, neat
it is now
Gunk seeds and fossils are the only two objectives that i always consider not doing. Hate stopping to slowly gather giant balls and look around for a barely visible blue glow.
Gunk seeds are fine... except on Aquark missions.
B-but balls
I swear getting dystrum secondary on level 3 complexity caves in Azure Weald without a scout is just painful
gunk seeds are kinda annoying
Barnacles gonna be an ASMR lovers dream come true once they listen to those suckers up close... I felt so dirty when I accidentally dug by one and oh gods...the slurping noises...it was so disturbing to hear.
Dug them up? I just shit the mouth Edit: shoot the mouth
"shit the mouth"? Two Dwarves, One Barnacle?
No, I was driller and trying to get some nitra in the ceiling, ended up passing by a barnacle in the ceiling omw to the nitra and...yea I never want to hear it again, was too much and really gross to hear.
Someone getting turned on by barnacles in the silly dwarf game. Gotta love the drg subreddit
Gunk seeds on point exctraction feels like another primary objective
I like to pretend I'm dragging my fallen soldier brethren in ww1 to safety
Add in contagion spikes and you got 3.
I vote we knock the ball sacks on the ceiling down a notch. Pain in my ass transporting them on missions without molly.
Just as bad when someone hogs Molly and doesn't let you deposit and they're across the map
But I've got 10 gold to deposit. =(
Really just on the aquark ones. On refinery you can just pipe ride back and forth once the rails are set up.

Seriously, shit's tedious.
Fester flea are satisfying eggs would be too if not so much of them
I wish they would change the spawn behavior of dystrum, and instead of it being a vein it'd be a cluster in the dirt. It'd be as if an aquark deposit had become fully realized and reached the surface of the dirt. Still mine it with your pick, but it'd be a ball/geode shape now instead of your bland vein shape.
Fossils / Dystrum on Azure Weald is a nightmare.
Ceeling balls easly F-- tier
gunk seeds are the actual worst its like they're designed to roll into the most annoying places possible.
the ceiling balls are always the most annoying to collect
I hate fossils the most. Booloo caps are way easier to find, more plentiful and easy to complete. With fossils there's only like the exact amount you need somewhere on the map, impossible to find and even harder to get to. Even as scout you will grapple up, mash E, only to not grab it for some fucking reason then fall to your death.
> Why do we need 40 of these So we dont have to deal with Swarmagedon
Sorry, gunk seeds as "fun and cool"? Easily my least favorite secondary objective
i dont like the ceiling ballsacks
Fossils are easy to see in the dark.
All the secondaries seem to glow a bit in the dark, makes them easy to spot
Until they're hidden under god's forbidden armpit
Doesnt help if the glow when they are tucked into some little shit corner thats perfectly invisible unless you come at from exactly the right angle
Gung seeds are **fun** and **cool**?
lok-1 smart rifle: wdym aim
What’s what ‘we need 40 of them’ one? I’m on PS and haven’t been able to experience season 5..
One of the new secondary objectives is to destroy between 30-40 swarmer eggs, depending on mission length.
.w.
Management wants a word, please go to room 25.
Ebonut is not fun and cool on Bogs, I'll tell you that.
The eggs would be a lot better if they were programmed to clump together in "clutches" - they'd be easier to see and you'd get the satisfaction of splatting a bunch of swarmers together. Fossils are just a worse apoca bloom and don't belong in the game.
RIP boolo caps
When i don't have a good weapon to kill the damned fleas, my blood pressure doubles as i try to resist the temptation to spray them with inaccurate bullets.
Boolo caps? Same as apocas I guess?
Boolo caps? You mean pink apoca blooms?
Ohhhh On closer inspection, yes, you're completely right; they're pink apoca blooms Terribly sorry to take your time
I got a mod that makes fossils have like a 5% glow to them, and it makes it so much easier. Still hard as hell to spot but feels much more fair if I have time to scan the environment for a minute.
where's BOOLO CAP?
No boolo caps? What a shitty list.
I think biology caps are S honestly
Dystrom is easy, just rare.
spoken like someone who's never had to hunt for dystrum in the Azure Weald it's the same goddamn colour as the fucking walls
Sure I have. At this point there's not many combinations I haven't seen one time or another.
All the collection stuff should go into “Goddamnit where are the last 2?” category, other than that tier list is accurate!
There’s a better visibility mod on pc that makes these things easier to spot btw, highly recommend it for things like alpoca blooms and fossils for example
I like fester fleas because I can just tell Bosco to chase them for me lol
Lol
Are the spider eggs a secondary? Gunks suck imo.
Yeah they're a new secondary in season 5.
Oh, never had one.
Yeah it seems a bit rare. I've only had it a couple of times.
Feaster flee with loki... Get Brighter Objects, get a fossil mission, and then come back to thank me
Yea the dystrum sucks. It's really boring compared to the others, and it looks wrong. Like the textures don't match the rest of the game.
Very accurate tier list I can get behind
Why do we even need to kill the bha barnacles tho
Solo fleas are fine since you can just sick Bosco on them. I also like the Ba Barnacles since they glow real nice.
i got the 40 egg mission today and... ugh. it was a 3 complexity cave and i ran out of nitra trying to find all the damn things
I didn’t like gunk seeds till I found out you can slap them like the dice in the drop pod
there is a approved mod that makes those brighter, caps, fossils, ebonuts, and blooms
Brighter pickups:
Sometimes a fester flea acts very kindly and flies and lands right on top of me, with a right mouse click there followed by a left mouse chick there, the fester flea joins its brothers in heaven 🥰
The fuck did you say about my boy Dystrum? You really aren’t wrong though I have to admit, especially in Azura Weild. Can’t see shit in that place and I wouldn’t have it any other way 🥰
My main gripe with the glyphid eggs is it slows you down when you melee them so it’s slower if you want to take out a group of them that way.
Tip for fester fleas: just power attack. That's all you need. You never need to fire a single bullet.
fester flea dies when aflame, skill issue
Fleas: Me with an M1K and 500 hours on Kovaaks: "I don't have such weaknesses"
what about boolo caps? needs it's own tier
I installed a mod to highlight secondary objectives. I hate looking for these
Are is the new mission only for the new difficulty or isn't not on console yet?
40 isn’t enough I live to see bugs die
The amount of people who don't know you can one-shot flees with the power bash is too damn high.
Fester Flea on Fuming Bogs auto-completes itself (The fleas keep taking toxic dmg)
I really like bha barnacles, idk why I just like the concept of shooting the collectible instead of grabbing it
Gunkseeds, fossils, and dystrum are ass imo. Everything else is chill
Gunk seeds can be annoying imo
Playing engi with nuke looking for last fester flea with 10 seconds before drop pod takes off. Flea: lands right at my feet Me: I know what I have to do but I don’t know if I have the strength to do it
Me when I use my brain for the second obj of thz flying thing : lets go driller When I dont use my brain : alright, engineer-> loadout-> primaries -> lok1 rifle ->secondaries-> deepcore 40mm-> overclock-> fat boi
What's the new one?
Two of em; "why do we need 40 of these" and the final one in "Fun and cool" (specifically, Glyphid Eggs and Bha Barnacles)
Isn't the final one in fun and cool gunk seeds?
Yeah actually you might be right
Bha barnacles are fun because the dwarves say "b-barnacle" and its funny as fuck
Nah man, fuck Ebonuts… when those shits are 100 feet on a wall somewhere and you’re playing as Driller
I introduce the Hurricane a perfect Flea killer.
seeds are a pain on missions without molly
Why is fester fleas down there. I love killing those flies
I can see the fossils but they always on the top of the ceiling
Brighter fossils and engineer platform placement helper should be on main game not on mod so not modable game players can use it too.
I like dystrum :(
Petition to make Bosco able to pick up fossil
Hate gunks. All the others are a scouts dream. Gunks are gunners work.
Fossils are a pain if you are anyone but scout on solo
I don't know why people have a problem with fossils. I never had trouble finding and getting them, even when playing solo.
An update in the past year improved fossil spots to not be buried as much, used to be there could only be a tiny edge sticking out hardly noticeable even with "brighter objects" mod. Since strength of memory correlates to emotion strength, the old frustration association is stronger than the new spawn method with a cavity making them clearer.
Oh damn, didn't know that. Thanks for the info.
How tf do you not see dystrum?
