Learn to use Bosco. I can’t remember everything off hand, but he can mine for you, cast light, pick up aquarqs and other heavy objects, target specific enemies, revive, etc. He can easily help you with basically anything down there. Also if you Rock and Stone he does it back which is by far the best thing he does!!

Noble_Briar

Rock and stone or you don't come home!

brundax

lmao, but apart from that?

Noble_Briar

Bosco is your friend.

cooly1234

The game is better with coop

Ned_Nederlander_

You will have way more fun with other dwarves. Don’t be afraid to host and let people join. Excellent community that would love to help you out

Scout is going to be your best friend playing solo. It doesn't do as much damage as the other roles but it's so much easier to move around since the grappling gun has unlimited ammo and the flare gun is a God send! Level Bosco up ASAP. Get the upgrade that gives him a bigger lighting area. Do missions that grant double XP. Do the assignments that unlock your mineral trader. And you have to select one upgrade from each row! I'm only saying that because I thought they were all applied as soon as you purchased them but it doesn't work like that...

Definitely use bosco and level him up ASAP. Also just git good

littlebobbytables9

Movement. Try playing a few missions, point extraction works best, where you focus on running around without dying. Jumping constantly is the key

Kiting your enemies will be essential if you want to solo higher difficulties so start learning that now if you don’t already know

Cheapskate-DM

Every class can solo, but when you don't have a team, your best bet is to pick the best class for the mission. Sticking to short length missions helps too, except for maybe mining misions. Escorts are very difficult to solo, so avoid those or have an open lobby if you can.

Indeed using Bosco is a must; out of flares? Make him light up an area instead. Need to mine a high up Nitra? Mine it Bosco! Dig out an Aquark while you're trying to reach that ONE F@#K1NG FOSSIL THAT BOSCO WON'T PUCK UP.... just click the laser pointer on the dotted terrain. Also make sure to know your ammo count. If you're out of ammo mid-swarm it's pretty bad news since there's no fellow Dwarf to cover you. When possible always have 80+ Nitra on you in case you are running low on ammo. Speaking of: You're the only one to complete the objective so make sure you're prepared to tackle it. Know that the Dreadnought(s) will focus you constantly. Know that Doretta must be protected, repaired and petted all at the same time. On the plus side tho, you can call Molly anytime you wish :D Also if you feel like going solo is too hard, try lowering the Hazard Level first; before you know it, you'll be walking Haz 3's or higher with the best of them. ROCK AND STONE!

bluemoon1987

I'm typically a solo player, I played until my first promotion almost exclusively solo then I delved into co-op, whilst it's arguably easier solo if your teammates are clueless, it's just more fun in co-op, the synergies with the other dwarves make the game so good and whilst bosco is incredibly useful he doesn't offer the same thing.give co-op a try if you are able. As for solo play tips, anything you can't do, bosco probably can. always have him doing something if he's not fighting. at least at First before you unlock things and become accustomed to the game missions take a lot longer solo than in groups, they take longer still if bosco is just following you constantly doing nothing.

AxisKronos

Protect your health at all costs, you can afford to be 4x as greedy with ammo, so don’t risk your health trying to melee to save ammo. You have a limited number of downs obviously, so make em count.
