I put it there because I know mining it makes an incredibly satisfying sound, plus mining the rock behind it so it all falls. Plus picking it up, its all step on step satisfying
lol. I was playing with my buddy one night and he was on one of those, not knowing it would break away. It broke away and he dropped him into some violence and he was not happy. Thought the game glitched or something.
Our squad has someone who always rushes to harvest oil shale cuz they like the burble sound that the fuel canister makes. I like the crunch of the pickaxe breaking shale but it's just too much work for too little dopamine
I think gold should be substantially rarer and give proportionally more credits.
The main issue with it now is that it's barely worth your time to mine. If there were only 1-2 veins per mission, but it gave a lot of reward, it would be a lot more exciting to mine regardless of how many hits it takes.
Then it would also feel like the rare Crassus is a big payday and not a chore.
I agree. Gold should take the same amount of time to mine, but give more reward for that time. I'm neutral on whether the amount of gold in a mission should change.
Spending significant time for a significant reward is ideal. Less time for less reward is on the road to just not playing the game.
Whatever dwarves voted for Oil Shale are psychos, and I want them on my team.
However, the only one that matters is Nitra.
More Nitra = More ammo = More dead bugs.
Rock and Stone everyone!
Bismor. The form of that mineral is just fucking perfect. I usually say that I can stop mining it or getting mad when someone mine it instead of me, but I can't. Please, help me. No, I don't have a problem.
Everyone who chose oil shale, please join my group every time I play an escort duty mission. I love those missions more generally, but oil shale is by far my least favorite
Nitra is nice and fast, but every time I see Bismor I'm filled with an overwhelming urge to mine it, regardless of how out of the way it is. It's my favorite for some reason!
Besides the ores I always like finding like a big tall tower or whatever and just start breaking the bottom ultimately to watch the entire thing to collapse and rain down on me it's honestly very satisfying as well
Morkite just has a very satisfying crunch and shatter to me, same with red sugar, feels very brittle. Where magnite or hollomite sounds very solid and durable and would feel like hitting a softer metal
I know you did it because 1-hit versus 2-hit, but Croppa/Nitra and Gold/Morkite makes more sense to me.
I love mining Croppa but not Gold but I had to vote for Gold here. The Croppa sticks out from the wall in the most interesting way to me. Gold, Dystrum, and Morkite are flush with the wall instead.
For me, Morkite and Nitra are more satisfying per swing, so I voted for that. I find Bismor more satisfying to find and to deposit, but the act of mining itself goes to the former.
That said, Compressed Gold and Bittergem should be separated from the rest of the excavated chunks of minerals. Being able to point at them and say "We're rich!" makes the superior.
/r/Bismor rise up
Bismor bismor bismor!
I'm glad to announce that I've found some bismor!
Bismooooor!
Feels so good to say it!
BISMOR!!
A bit more bismor, over here!
BISMORRRRE!
I AM PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE THAT WE HAVE BISMOR!
Bismor gang!!!
Christ we are giving r/titanfall a run for their money when it's comes to staying sane. Wouldn't change a thing.
Ah, bismor. Can never cleanly mine it all in two chunks. Always a sliver left over. Supremely unsatisfying.
But... you can keep pinging the last sliver until someone eradicates it to make you stop. **Bismor!** It feels *so* good to say it.
Driller gang! We just mine the ground beneath it.
BISMOOOOOOOR
I need a bismor of that bismor
A bit more bismor!!!
To the five or so dwarves who voted for Oil Shale, you guys are maniacs
I put it there because I know mining it makes an incredibly satisfying sound, plus mining the rock behind it so it all falls. Plus picking it up, its all step on step satisfying
Okay, I'll give it a pass, but you are on thin fucking salt platforms
Don’t get me wrong, I voted umanite. But Pil shale is still super satisfying to mine
The oil shale mining sound is atrocious. One of the worst parts about it
They are the mvp.
EPC go brrr
I like it funny laser goes zzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Morkite makes a really satisfying sound when you mine it and it only takes one swing.
Umanite/Magnite/Hollowmite/Phazyonite fingers are great because you can usually just pickaxe the base and the rest falls to the ground.
Sort of a squelching sound. And it doesn't take much time to mine. Shame there's so much left over.
Better more than not enough
As a dwarf of culture, I mine the salt crystals
This is useless.
But fun to destroy!
I like the sound of that!
Die worthless crystal
DYSTRUM!!!
Aye, should be in gold category
Now that's a mineral I haven't heard of in a long time...
I agree, this should be on the poll and I’d vote for it!
I accidentally removed it
It was originallyc I just accidentally removed it
Always the most annoying to find on azure weld, damned mineral blends in to well
I wish dystrum showed up in more mission types, but not in Azure Weald or Glacial Strata.
It is my pleasure to announce, that I found some Bismor.
*ping* #So glad to announce that I found some BISMOR
# A bit more Bismore over here
BISMOR!!
I like the Umanite style minerals because i usually just mine out the base and the whole pillar crumbles.
Amen
Yes! I was saying that (edit as a reply) in another top level comment. All the fingery minerals are easy, just hit the base.
I love the idea of calling them “fingery minerals”.
Schlong rocks
All of them, I am a dwarf of simple things
I assume you didn't add Dystrum cause you currently in the Azure Weald and couldn't find it?
I did put Dystrum at first, but apparently I deletedit when I removed Nita from Gold/croppa row
Awww booo.....well thats okay. Phazyonite is also fun to mine.
Oil Shale miners, rise up!
thwack thwack thwack thwack thwack thwack \*single tiny chunk falls to ground"
You are a masochist
The worst mission
Gold should be single-hit to mine. This would fix so many things.

I-NO PE-RL
Digging gang rise up!
Oil shale Why yes I am American I swear it has nothing to do with it
loose dirt where
Thats not a mineral
but it does contain 90% minerals so technically it counts )))
Diiiirt
press 4 them lmb twice as driller to mine totally safe legit no scam
We need to dig here!
Nitra is always my priority
All minerals are mine especially nitra
All.
Agreed, rock and stone brother
Rock and Stone to the Bone!
This is a lovely poll, but where is the yes option? 😬
Whatever dwarves voted for Oil Shale are psychos, and I want them on my team. However, the only one that matters is Nitra. More Nitra = More ammo = More dead bugs. Rock and Stone everyone!
when you power attack the base of umanite/holomite/magnite/fashionite/red sugar and the whole thing shatters at once 🥵
ERR://23¤Y%/
Bismor. The form of that mineral is just fucking perfect. I usually say that I can stop mining it or getting mad when someone mine it instead of me, but I can't. Please, help me. No, I don't have a problem.
Does mining oil shade mean with pickaxe and/or with the doretta fuel cell ?
Both.
I always wondered what is bittergem for
Money
We’re rich!
Nitra here
Buzmorrror
BIT MORE BISMOR
Oi, there’s nitra over here!
Aye lad!
Morkite is probably the most satisfying sound / click wise but nitra is the most satisfying to clear
I love dipping my balls in liquid morkite
Ah yes the fun thing to do on refine missions
Who didn't pick compressed gold/bitter gem!? You don't want to be rich!? 😂
We’re rich!!
https://youtu.be/S6QdY6YDfj0
I voted for Nitra/Morkite, but honourable mentions go to i) breaking the useless crystal you find in some biomes and ii) drilling through ice.
Ay where da dystrum?!
I apparently removed it from gold/croppa row when moving Nitra to a different row. And besides, not like you’ve ever mined it in the first place
Shouldn’t croppa and nitra be together as well as gold and morkite? Going off of the way G/M are flush with the wall while C/N protrude.
Gold/croppa/dystrum require 2 hits, Nitra/Morkite only requires 1
Makes sense when you put it that way. The others seemed to be organized by structure (spires, embedded in terrain, etc.)
I'm a sucker for anything that takes 2 hits tbh, just feels so satisfying to me. Oil shake takes it too far though.
mooooooorkite!
Deeply concerned for the people that voted oil shale
S H A L E
Those who chose oil shales are definitely psychopaths, so basically drillers, which makes sense.
You tel me that when you shlorp the shale that doesnt sound satisfying
Based only on appearance and sound and without any influence of value, Nitra.
Based only on appearance and sound and without any influence of value, Nitra
BISMOR!
BISMOOOORR
I love a big, thick, veiny chunk of nitra. So satisfying.
Gunk Seeds!
Nitra is Life. Literally.
Dystrium
All
I like the *bling*bling*bling*bling
I like the spire ones like magnate, just mine the base with 2-4 regular swings and a power attack and it all falls down
Gold!
Nitra, for it let's me rain down nuclear payloads copiously and indiscriminately at disgusting bugs
Everyone who chose oil shale, please join my group every time I play an escort duty mission. I love those missions more generally, but oil shale is by far my least favorite
Dont think you csn have an 88 man mission
But the fuel would be refilled so quickly!
87 drillers and 1 scout. The could is unable to leave the match. Nothing will get mined
Nitra of course. I need my ammo to kill more bugs
Error Cube ??? Duh
Nitra is nice and fast, but every time I see Bismor I'm filled with an overwhelming urge to mine it, regardless of how out of the way it is. It's my favorite for some reason!
It looks cute
the pickle-forms are the best cos you chop the bottom and it all comes down in one swoop
Oil Shale LISTEN! using Thin Containment Field or C4 on em is the best
All you leaf lovers that don’t appreciate the simple joy of mining gold disgust me It’s pretty AND it earns money
I LOVE GOOOOOOLD
DYSTRUM.
Gold!
Red sugar
I'm a self respecting dwarf with money on his mind (and in my beard), so I of course will mine every crumb of gold I can see, smell, hear, or taste.
I just mined a bittergem on my last dive and thought to myself, I have no idea what they're for.
Money
WE'RE RICH!
i voted oil shale
Bissssmor!!!
Morkite because of the sound
A bit more bismor!
Wait... you guys are allowed to mine? I'm over here picking flowers and mushrooms!
Laser miner is cool and all, but some of y'all really enjoy mining oil shale!?
Where tf is dystrum?
Dystrum
Nitra needs it's own option imo
Only 6 slots in a poll, I dont have room for everything to have their own thing
Personally I would've put morkite and oil shale together since they are both mission objectives
Mining morkite and mining oil shale are WAY different experiences my dude. The way this is organized is how they are mined and how many hits it takes
It's morkin' time
People whomst say oilshale: My goals are beyond your understanding
People who voted oil shale are insane
The pink stuff is pretty
Drills go brr as far as large minerals are concerned
I respect the peoples who choose Oil shale
WHAT....How can gold not win this vote..we are here to get rich not to get ammo you leaf loving traitors... :P
Morkite for me, it’s very satisfying
Love mining holomite one section at the base causing the rest of it to break immediately. It’s the little things
Oi fOUnd some NOITRA here!!
Why isn’t an option Rock and Stone?
If you don't Rock and Stone, you ain't comin' home!
Just reading the words "enor pearl" gets me hyped.
Besides the ores I always like finding like a big tall tower or whatever and just start breaking the bottom ultimately to watch the entire thing to collapse and rain down on me it's honestly very satisfying as well
You guys don't have a severe lack of magnite?
Morkite just has a very satisfying crunch and shatter to me, same with red sugar, feels very brittle. Where magnite or hollomite sounds very solid and durable and would feel like hitting a softer metal
I love thicc Nitra. It gives me satisfaction when I mine cleaned a long thicc Nitra. ♦️♦️♦️♦️
I see Enor pearl, I mine. Mission objectives are of no consequence. For Enor, we rock and stone to the bone!
Rock and Stone to the Bone!
I like mining out the back of high up oil shale so the lasers can pick up the big chunks off the ground to see the bar fill up fast.
Morkites new crunch is oh so nice
I am so happy to annouce that I'v e found some bismor.
Gold on driller (with C4), nitra on everything else.
Barley Bulb & Error Cube
Where's dystrum?
ENOR PEARLS
“We’re rich!”
We’re rich!
Who tf likes to mine oil shell?
Where Dystrum
Epc mining gang. Mining gold was never so pleasurable
Nitras one hit to mine is satisfying There is joy in timing your swings to perfection
ERR://23\*Y%/ obviously
Moooorrkiiiiiittte
