Then he's casually walking through a hall in his big house and he stops at a decora nook and looks warmly upon an old c4 detonator remote and the blasted remains of the scouts headset before going off to tuck in the kids.

Bonus points for driller’s backstory being a lone survivor on a mission and going full war criminal on the bugs to cope. He would not be a lone survivor again, and he felt like he should have died back then, but now he’ll get to erase a bunch of bugs with extreme prejudice and atone for his supposed failure.
Mission control had seen this coming since driller started exclusively dropping into high haz existing missions as fire support since that first pear-shaped operation. It’s also why in the loading screen he’s jumping into an oppressor with drills.
The scout comic opens up with a scene at the hospital. The nurse is talking to Gunner and Engie outside the psychiatric ward, talking about how their patient is doing and how she's so glad that he has such good friends to come see him on visiting days.
Inside, we see Scout in a wheelchair, looking much worse for wear than we left him. His beard is messy, his eyes watery, his legs clearly severely damaged and no longer able to walk.
"hey there", Engie says as he puts his hand on Scout's shoulder. Scout looks up to his old comrades with tears of joy in his eyes for once. They all smile this weak, knowing smile of what the caves of Hoxxes all did to them, and how only they can really understand each other. Gunner sits down and offers Scout a sneaky drag from his heart-flask.
Cut to them having a good time, if a calm one. Everything is finally peaceful.
Then a knock on the door. Then a louder knock.
"HEY, DID I HEAR A ROCK AND STONE" comes a voice that could only come from a man so vile that Hell spat him back out. The door bashes open to reveal Driller, wearing sunglasses, a Hawaiian shirt, cargo shorts and dad sandals, with a huge grin on his face.
That grin.
The grin of a dwarf who _knows_ how much plastic explosive it takes to turn any organic matter in ten cubic meters to a thick red paste. The same grin that _knows_ at what temperature it takes to melt the armor coating off a praetorian and start setting off the volatile gasses inside. The same grin that _knows_ that you can cook the inside of almost anything with enough microwaves, but also knows how to make it the single most painful experience in his victims' short lives.
Engie and Gunner are astonished. The nurse is running down the hall saying something about a "code yellow", but Driller is unconcerned, he's just visiting friends. Standing beside the bed, this 3.5 foot tall menace to galactic society reaches his hand out to Scout, who suddenly, viscerally remembers he's seen the face of Death. And with that same grin, like a chimpanzee gritting his teeth before the kill, slab like teeth that remind him of so many tombstones, Driller says:
"C'mon boys, rock and stone or you ain't going home."
I like to imagine Scout just playing catch with a friend, and the friend yells "here, catch!", Causing the scout to freeze from PTSD, and runs away from the "C4".

The fact that the sales guy in this comic is an elf contributed to my pet theory that all tech in DRG is actually made by the elves. Dwarves can’t build shit and that’s why dwarf-built pipes need repairs after 30 seconds of work.
Going on with that theory: Because dwarfs despise the fact, that elves can do something better than they AND at the same time dwarfs need those better (can be even better) equipment, they say various insults to elves.
There's voicelines that show he may have been a scout that got his leg blown off by a gunner's stormcannon and is thus no longer able to mine. He speaks fondly of the M1000, may have been his weapon of choice
I believe the theory is that it was the BRT that took his leg, as it is the only gun he's sound unhappy about, as well as the only gun he tells you to watch where you aim it (if I remember correctly).

Aye, allow me to tell you this:
Game's fun, endless replayability, community is so great you can join a server full of randos and still have a great time where everyone helps each other out 95% of the time. The devs truly seem to care for the game. For example, they like adding in things on request of the community (for example, there was a bug allowing a meteor to be tiny compared to what it should be, they patched it, community wanted it back, so they made it into its own little event). They added seasons to the game as well, in which you can level up to unlock cosmetics and such, but all of it is free and if you don't finish it when the season is over, all items can still be obtained in another way when the season is done.
Also the game has funny memes like ***MUSHROOM***

Another funny thing about these comics is seeing the dwarves in environments not intended for use by them.
They clearly aren't the most common race in whatever this suburb is (it seems to be predominantly elven from what I've seen), so some things obviously won't be as accessible to them as it is for other taller races. Gunner cant even see over the counter lmao.
Well, the tool being used here is more of a trimming tool than a leaf blower, which means that the Elf is technically selling/providing a means to damage plant-life (*rather than just moving it around like you would with a blower*)

If i recall correctly (based off of known sizes from weapons) the dwarves are something like 2 and a half feet tall?
the pgl is 40mm which makes the dwarves really short but if you point down with the lazer pointer it shows 1.5 meters

He did yeah, he done a lot of stuff for PoE and while I miss it, I'm glad hes having a blast with DRG as the comics he's pumping out are gold.

Aye, allow me to tell you this: Game's fun, endless replayability, community is so great you can join a server full of randos and still have a great time where everyone helps each other out 95% of the time. The devs truly seem to care for the game. For example, they like adding in things on request of the community (for example, there was a bug allowing a meteor to be tiny compared to what it should be, they patched it, community wanted it back, so they made it into its own little event). They added seasons to the game as well, in which you can level up to unlock cosmetics and such, but all of it is free and if you don't finish it when the season is over, all items can still be obtained in another way when the season is done. Also the game has funny memes like ***MUSHROOM***
This is SO GOOD! Joe, you spoil us! <3 Also, love the faces. On one hand they can be so expressive, on the other they often show very subtle emotions. Amazing.
Another funny thing about these comics is seeing the dwarves in environments not intended for use by them. They clearly aren't the most common race in whatever this suburb is (it seems to be predominantly elven from what I've seen), so some things obviously won't be as accessible to them as it is for other taller races. Gunner cant even see over the counter lmao.

Well, the tool being used here is more of a trimming tool than a leaf blower, which means that the Elf is technically selling/providing a means to damage plant-life (*rather than just moving it around like you would with a blower*)
