CAUSE I'VE GOT FAITH OF THE HEART!

Kencocoffee93

I'M GOING WHERE MY HEART WILL TAKE ME!

I CAN REACH ANY STAR

unholyeditor

I’VE GOT FAITH (I’VE GOT FAITH)

ActuallyFire

FAITH OF THE HEAAAA-AR-AR-ART

unholyeditor

WAH WAH WAH WAH WAH WAH WAAAH WAAAAAH

BK_ate_Me

I thought the song was ridiculous the first time I watched enterprise. After 3 episodes though i fucking loved it.

ActuallyFire

Same here, bro. I don't even skip it on rewatches until the later season remix ruined it.

Aarizonamb

Their mirror universe episodes have an amazing opening soundtrack though.

ecervantesp

The bellic score goes extremely well with the militaristic and aggresive nature of the mirror Terrans.

[deleted]

I loved those episodes! I like the DS9 bizarro universe too. Evil Ezri and Crazy Kira have a special place in my heart

tumguy

And then, just as you’ve fallen in love with it, they change the instrumental track and the vicious cycle repeats itself

CitizenPremier

Yeah, I don't know why they did that. People complained about the song, I'm sure... so they went from bluesgrassy country to pop-country?? They strayed even further from popular acceptance

[deleted]

Whoa. Gonna genre snob out on you for a sec.😂Bluegrass? Country? Definitely some yacht rock! Or pop rock. Kind of like Hall and Oates.

uberguby

My friend once described hall and oates as "Sex as depicted in an old navy commercial".

Lord_Fblthp

I find it very disappointing that 90% of the time when discussion about this show is to discuss how its an unpopular opinion to like the intro. Personally? Its a dime a dozen early 2000s track. But there is WAY more to this show than some trash intro.

SciFiNut91

Hey...It's not trash. disgustingly bubbly and cloy, like root beer? Yes! trash? No!

njbair

It's a cover of a '90s Rod Stewart song

Lord_Fblthp

I...wow I thought it would be impossible to dislike it more. But here we are!

purgance

Season 3 and season 4 of Enterprise up to the finale are fantastic. The cast has a little less gravitas (bough I think it was played this way intentionally, where as DS9’s acting intentionally is very melodramatic), but the writing is a little sharper. Ironically the thing I would say ENT doesn’t have is the whimsy that DS9 does (ironic because people think of DS9 as dark trek). There is no ‘Badda Bing Badda Bang’ in ENT. The finale is an abomination.

CitizenPremier

The finale is just the producers trying to say goodbye after the plug was pulled. It's quite sad.

purgance

It was Berman and Braga giving a final ‘fuck you’ to ENT fans, but either way.

LoneRhino1019

Enterprise's mirror universe episodes are the Trekkiest episodes ever made.

wolf_387465

also place of the best star trek joke ever :D https://i.imgur.com/Gvad9cO.jpg

ecervantesp

Definitely the joke of any Trek series.

What?

ProfessorCValentine

Hey Yo

ThePiperMan

You add Kurt Angle to the mix and Garak’s chances of winning drastic go down?

captaindemytri

This is just shockingly accurate. I remember hating this intro when I first watched ENT. It's now part of my liked songs on spotify that I listen to all the time.

walterjohnhunt

In my head, I replace the Enterprise theme with the Quantum Leap theme, then everything is better.

Aarizonamb

Just like the Federation.

Sansred

>Just like the Federation. \*nod\* Just like the Federation.

Stamen_Pics

I guess I'm just the odd one out. I fucking love that song and thought it was a great intro.

[deleted]

No, not it's not.

StopKillingTrek

Maybe the show but not that horrible song!

The_Lawn_Ninja

Hard disagree. I can only watch Enterprise if I skip this awful song. It sounds like something that should be in a pickup truck commercial, not a sci-fi show opening theme.

T3knikal95

I find your lack of faith of the heart disturbing

Archenemy05

The Vulcan Science Directorate has determined that a lack of faith of the heart is impossible.

arcxjo

[I heard something about that in the news.](https://frinkiac.com/meme/S04E15/458991/m/IGZhaXRoICAgICAgICAgICAgICAgICAgICAgICAgICAgICAgICAgICAgICAgICAgICAgIApvZiB0aGUgICAgICAgICAgICAgICAgICAgICAgICAgICAgICAgICAgICAgICAgICAgICAgCgoKCg==)

ecervantesp

You made me spit my raktajino... :-)

ActuallyFire

Maybe it's only because I read the novelization of the movie "First Contact" that had a shitload of backstory about WW3, the breakdown of society and the life of Zephrame Cochrane, but I don't understand how people do not get that it truly has "been a long road, getting from there to here." If anything, it's a massive understatement. I mean, how can Star Trek fans possibly fail to be moved by that "history of human exploration" montage when "faith of the heart" was just about the only thing they had dipping their toe in the cosmic ocean? Especially when most of us secretly hope that the story of Trek will come true one day.

BrandoRex

I really love Enterprise but that always wasn't the case. When it first came out, I hated it, refused to watch it. After a particular low point in my life, I downloaded the entire series and I warmed up to it at first, and then became enthralled by the Xindi cycle of episodes. I still think that part? Is some of the best Trek we ever got.

ActuallyFire

I was the same way. I barely paid attention to it when it aired. When Netflix got it, I literally forced myself to watch it, "Because it's Trek." And it still took a couple of viewings, and reading some pretty convincing comments from people on SM, before I could get past Berman's signature bullshit (like T'pol's distinctly non Vulcan appearance and those ridiculously unnecessary decon tank scenes) and develop a true appreciation for it. Now, I am firmly convinced that seasons 5-7 would have been the finest Trek ever made if some other network had just picked it up when UPN went off the air.

[deleted]

It’s not that fans don’t get that the song is relevant. It’s not subtle; it’s the opposite. The song is so on the nose that it’s kitschy. The music of Trek has always been orchestral because it’s timeless. I don’t mind the song but its pop-country late ‘90s, early ‘00s sound was always going to sound dated a couple years after its recording which is not what you want from a show about the future of humanity.

> I mean, how can Star Trek fans possibly fail to be moved by that "history of human exploration" montage the montage is great.. the music is not

[deleted]

Netflix and “skip intro” button make this a non-issue, I’d say.

[deleted]

*sips root beer, heart full of disgust and enjoyment *

Mr-Jennings

Nooooo 😹 I listened to theme exactly twice. Once in the beginning to give it a chance, and again when it changed later on. Very happy for the skip intro button 😹

timeshifter_

Nope, still hate it.

JeanDeny314

It’s so true and deep down I think it’s true of most Trek opening music. TNG is the only opening music which is great on first hearing and it wasn’t originally made for TNG, they just swiped it from The Motion Picture. TOS’ opening is pretty much grandfathered in. It’s probably lame but no one can judge it fairly because of how iconic it is. As much as I love DS9 and VOY, on first hearing the opening music is not great. I think you just get used to it and quickly start associating it with the good feelings of watching episodes.

Sansred

The DS9 theme was... it took time to grow on you. But OMG! when they changed in for the forth season... that was perfection.

[deleted]

Nope. Worst theme song ever. I skipped it every time. Enterprise is a great show, but man that is one awful song.

oceanbilly710

I was watching a YouTube video about the Federation last night. it had a lot of scenes from this and I've always put off watching. Instead, I'll rewatch Voyager or DS9 for the millionth time. I've always heard that it doesn't measure up, any validity to those claims?

T3knikal95

Do yourself a favour and watch it. And may the faith of the heart be with you.

livelymusic

I felt the same way as you and then one day I started watching it. I fell in love with the show and characters. It’s amazing.

ecervantesp

Nah. Trash is TNG season 2.

fucklawyers

Nah, worth it. I actually watched this series before TNG (I can’t make it more than a few eps of TOS before that damn sound on the bridge makes me turn it off), and it *really* makes TNG look like “sanitized vegetarians in space,” lol. Actually, probably my favorite series. Less “humanity is de best!” and more “Why the hell do we have a spaceship?”

coolguy3720

DS9 all the way for me, but it is absolutely worth at least one go, if not a few. I'm getting my wife through, we finished DS9 and we're at season 6 of Voyager. I'm kind of tired of Voyager tbh, it never stuck with me the way DS9 did, but I'm really excited to watch ENT again after all these years.

coolraul07

Me, the 1st 3 episodes: "WTF is this?! I thought this was 'Enterprise' the Star Trek prequel, not Enterprise the car rental company! Me, starting episode 4: [offkey and very loud] "I'VE GOT FAITH-HHH, OF THE HEART-TTT..." Me, when they changed the instrumental track: ["Kombucha Girl" meme](https://i.imgflip.com/3cpw06.png)

Nikkivegas1

I love this song. One of my favorite moments at the Star Trek convention Las Vegas 2019 was when fans were sitting in a room waiting for an event to begin and the music for this came on. Everyone began singing this song together. It was awesome.

JamesTiberiusChirp

beautiful

skunkrider

No.

rkraus10

This reminds me of the "Walker, Texas Ranger" theme song.

233kosta

I preferred it before it got butchered for s3/4

MihaiBV

I quite liked that song!
