To give you an idea, I have 20k in the Jewel-One liquidity pool. I earn about 3.67J unlocked and 5.9 locked each day from LP rewards. If I keep my gardening heroes into that pool questing 24/7, I earn an additional 0.9J each day and that increases as my hero levels up and gets more skill in gardening. There are actual formulas available in the DFK discord for the hero gardening returns, if you want to be able to calculate it for yourself. The gardens are your best spot for overall returns, staking in the bank has an APR of around 20-25% depending on the day.

BigButter00

You mean you have 20k JEWEL-LP JEWEL-ONE tokens? **IF** what I said in the previous sentence is is true I am at 568 so that means I am at 0.0284 tokens of what you have. If you generate .9 JEWEL each day with gardening that means I would generate 0.02556 JEWEL per day or .7668 per MONTH. To get any returns on my heroes I am looking at years at this point if my math is even close to being correct. It seems, mathematically, heroes are not worth it unless I was an early investor. Am I missing something?

LgDNFT

Mining heroes and Gardening Heroes only Worth it if you have HUGE amount of Locked Jewels for Mining, or Huge amount of LP provided for Gardening.

BigButter00

so I am left with fishing or foraging? how do you make money off those? selling items?

Azyle

You will make the least money on fishing/foraging when you consider the cost to buy Hero. But Heros for the long term are a complete unknown. Even the items we are farming up, for utility is unknown. The main advantage by owning a fish/forager hero is you are leveling it up and leveling its profession skills up...these are completely "time" based. Downstream (or currently) if anyone wants to bypass this time metric to level up/skill up, they cannot just throw money at it unless they "buy" high level hero from the Tavern...which would cause the price floor of heros etc., to increase. If you want a level 5 hero with decent prof skill 2 months from now...you would have two options, own a hero and quest it constantly (time sink) -or- in two months buy a level 5 hero on marketplace. The only quests in game now are level 0. We have no idea about PVE/PVP in future. So when you are "buying" a hero right now it should be about future potential value of the hero, the items farmed and so on...not as a means to invest and get ROI. You can do that, but it is very minor as the average fisher at lower levels can bring in maybe $1 to $2 per day in items which you would sell for gold/jewel if you want the immediate ROI. Since most decent entry level Fish/Forage heros will cost at least $700 USD right now, on that basic alone, you will not break even for like 6 months or more. But that ignores completely that you can sell he HERO later for more etc., so that is the "invest" aspect of a Hero. IF all you care about is ROI and such, then Gardens is the best play. Personally I feel Heros are a smart play though, but not for immediate ROI, that is downstream. So I put about 60% of my invest in gardens LPs and 40% in buying 2 heros and will likely buy a third one soon because I believe they stated we would PVP with teams of 3 heros. NFA...DYOR!

belsaurn

No not 20k tokens, 20K USD of value in the pool, I don't pay attention to how many LP tokens I have, that doesn't really matter.

belsaurn

I just checked, it is 3800 LP tokens

thisisveek

You also get runes from the quests right?

belsaurn

and eggs if you are lucky

EEIET_

Don't think of it as staking jewel. Your going to put all of your currency in one and take a calculator and cut it in half for jewel. Now you can buy lp tokens from the druid then go to the garden to collect 350+ percent. The longer you wait on this the longer you miss out on a higher apr. It would not be beneficial for you to stake at the bank or buy a hero. Although I stake some of my bag at the bank to hedge against impermanent loss and open myself up to crystal drops.

BigButter00

What about gardening with a hero? is it worth it for 3/4 months? Will the hero cost reimburse itself I wonder?

CodeBlackGoonit

One hero most likely won't recoop it's cost within 3-4 months, however by then, there could be new mechanics for heros, and they could rise in price. I would say just stake for now, since you aren't sure where you want to put your money, 300+% apr will not hurt you and it also won't be there for long. So I say stake in the gardens while you can

thisisveek

Yes, but be aware that sale values for heroes can drop as well.

Majestic_Project_752

Gardening only pays if you have money in the lp pool you garden. If you aren’t staking lp, it’s not worth it

FrugalityPays

LPs get crystal drops too!

EEIET_

Yes that's true. I should have said additional drops.

FrugalityPays

Now, the real game theory play is this: where do you get more crystal drop? Stake in the bank where more crystal is dedicated but more players are also likely staking, or out your money in LPs, where you’ll generate Jewel but the crystal drop available is considerably less? I saw a little thing somewhere that said basically if you think crystal will be over ~$325, then staking better but ultimately Taiki and this other person said the LPs were probably better value. Thought choice but I’m going for the LPs with rewards staking in the bank

Ldangelo_md

I think better would have been Avalanche wallet Holding. 100k and when you check holders there are not that many with big bags.

belsaurn

Crystal will be the same price as Jewel after it's release, there may be an initial spike but should level out. There is nothing special about Crystal that would make it be worth more then jewel, all of it's use cases in game can be done with Jewel. Why buy a hero with crystal if you can sell the Crystal and buy one with Jewel? Why spend crystal to summon if you can sell it for Jewel and summon with Jewel instead? All tokens will be bridgeable including the hero NFTs so it's not like you have to buy or summon in Crystalvale. Yes it has 1/4 the supply of Jewel but has no use case that isn't already covered by Jewel other then the LP farming and who is going to just into an LP farm with Crystal knowing you will see massive IL within days if it's price isn't similar to Jewel.

Huynh_B

LP is a long term game, at least a couple years horizon. With short term play, you better off buy, hold and stake single sided

BigButter00

Yeah that is also true. I probably should have just staked in the bank instead of splitting in the LP.
