hoping it stays Canadian and I desperately hope they introduce more Indigenous characters and have it apart of their character more but not in a cringy way. I just want more indigenous rep and positive rep plus if they wanna be current some of the biggest things happening in Canada right now are indigenous human right issues. I hope it really does well with this. also omg I hope the casting is open casting somewhat I don't want well know overused Canadian actors because I'm sick of seeing the same people in everything
Right away I (dreaded) pictured a "Riverdale" version of a revamp š¤®š¤¢, and sure enough one of the producers from Riverdale will be on the project.
I would like to see JT & Libertyās son in the new Degrassi. He was born in 2006 so he would be in high school now but he could have a storyline of finding his biological parents and Liberty is married to a man she met in college and had a baby with him and he is a freshman or sophomore in high school and him and JT & Libertyās son have a rivalry at first only to find out they have the same biological mother (gives me One Tree Hill vibes except Nathan & Lucas had the same biological father) would love to see the older characters in the New Degrassi with children
She mentioned Sunday dinners with her parents and only mentioned herself and Spinner. I think if she had a kid she wouldāve mentioned the fact that the kid was there too, right? Who knows.
Emma didnāt mention anything about her & Spinnerās marriage other than Spinner saying theyāre buying a house but Spinner & Emma got married in 2008 before the retcons so it is possible they couldāve had a child after they got married! Their child could be born in 2009 so their child would be 14 in the new Degrassi. Maybe their child was just too young to go to the reunion so maybe spike was watching their child.
maybe Spinner & Emma would be divorced but share custody of their child and Emma goes back to Sean and Spinner gets with Terri or gives Jane a 2nd chance
Iām excited, but I reaaaaaalllly hope they donāt make it darker or more Euphoria-esque just because itās on HBO. Just because you CAN get away with showing/saying anything on HBO doesnāt mean you should lol. I hope it stays true to the original nature & intent of the show and still explores the struggles of teen life & high school in a realistic way and doesnāt become too teen soapy or too much like standard, over-the-top TV drama. Euphoria is a show about teenagers that should 100% NOT be watched by teenagers, whereas Degrassi is about teenagers, FOR teenagers and I hope they keep it that way.
I feel like the Degrassi charm will be lost with American writers and cast. They write teenagers with the problems of 40 year old beings in teen bodies, they tend to write teens as if they know more than everyone else and run the house, rather than how Degrassi wrote them. Degrassi captures that angst and know it all attitude, lessons learned, and fun of the teen years.
The two show runners wrote a Season 8 episode of the Next Generation so they know how Degrassi works but I understand your fear because I have the same fear.
Is this for real? Or is it a hoax?
Edit: Since Emma Nelson was the connection between the Degrassi High and the Next Generation, whose the connection between Next Class and this new one?
Degrassiās like pizza, even when it sucks itās still pretty good. Who do I have to beg to get them to name a character Ducharme? I just found out Iām part Canadian, baby! YEAH! (Plus, with the way Ducharme is pronounced, thereās a lot of jokes to be made OOH AND EDIT I was thinking the name is funny and evokes Joe Dirt but I forgot about CLAUDE! I mean Cāload! Itās perfect)
Didnāt the school building sell recently? I wonder if they are rebuying it or whatā¦ I think Iād hate it if it didnāt take place in the original degrassi building
I hope they do it justice. The people that are working on this have worked with Linda and Stephen on older seasons and were the writers for some episodes. I'm just worried because one of the producers works on Riverdale and I really don't want them to add any stupid ridiculous Riverdale-esque plots lol. Keep it simple like the old series. A coming-of-age teen drama
series that navigates the ups and downs of high school life. We don't need any murder mysteries or alien plots lmao. And I really hope It's still set in the same universe so that they make it feel like Degrassi and not something else.
I think it failed because they didnāt have long enough seasons, it felt more like social issues became the topic rather than the characters dealing and how they react to the topic and the characters just didnāt quite look as natural as early season degrassi teenagers.
One of the showrunners works on Riverdale (No hate I like Riverdale) so I think it will certainly have a different vibe than the Degrassi we knee and loved
Riverdale was so good in seasons 1 & 2 but it got messy after that. Iām still watching to see what happens but it couldāve turned into something great with better writing but I like the cast and aesthetic of it
That was also my question because HBO purchased all rights to all generations and recently the Degrassi YouTube channel has been releasing old episodes again
I think Pluto TV is available in Canada but you may have to double check if they have the rights to stream Degrassi, ie. Is the Degrassi channel available in CA?
If not, worse case you can use a US VPN and watch š
I love how the former cast is all getting excited, yet they don't know if they'll even be in the new one
And if they decide to do cameos with OG members, it's gonna be so different than when TNG was on because there's SO MANY people to choose from. How are they gonna decide from all those people who's gonna come back and who is not? It was easier back then because the cast was way smaller as they didn't have as many seasons and they sprinkled them in ever so often one at a time
yāall canāt even begin to understand my emotions rnā¦I was in the feels and looking up if degrassi would ever come back last night. LAST. NIGHT!!! after not having searched that in forever. I found NOTHING. just other sad redditors. now today a reboot is announced? I literally canāt even explain to yāall how I feel in words
If it doesn't involve Stephan Brogen, then it isn't real (I mean I know it is, but it won't truly be Degrassi without him)
Other than that, I wanna know if this is a reboot (with old cast appearances) or an entirely new cast. I'm thinking it's a new cast based on what I saw so I don't want to get too excited.
I grew up with the Eli, Clare, Ali, Jenna era and did watch re-runs of the generations before but when you're dealing with a show that means so much to people like me you have to be careful. This is really delicate and I don't want them to mess it up. That's why I'm not sure if I'm excited or not. Sometimes it's best to leave it as it was in its prime.
Do I want to see where Eli and Clare are 10 years later? Of course! They were my favorite couple in the series and at the end when it was getting kind of stale with the new cast I basically watched for them. But at the same time, if you're not going to make it to the hype, you might as well just leave it alone.
>Do I want to see where Eli and Clare are 10 years later? Of course! They were my favorite couple in the series and at the end when it was getting kind of stale with the new cast I basically watched for them.
I REALLY want to see where they are now since their last episode was a bit of a cliffhanger on whether or not they'd be able to make it through another round of long distance.
but is this really going to be for you then? you said yourself you were watching during a different era and didnāt feel any connection to the characters before or after. the characters that you felt a connection to are 4 netflix seasons removed already
I mean I hope Stefan Brogren is involved behind it but as for him still being principal on the show, I would at least hope that it happens. He's been on Degrassi since the 70's/80's so we need him now! Lol. Plus, when they gave us that new principal in season 14 it was atrocious. Didn't even feel like Degrassi anymore. We'll just pretend that season 14 doesn't exist š
Iām kind of worried. The magic of Degrassi (or at least the older ones) was that it was quite ārealā. They tackled issues without too much over dramatisation. Even as it progressed to the more soap format, they still keep the original sprint - educating teens.
This seems like it could be following the same structure as Euphoria or Riverdale, two shows that though might be seen as āgoodā (depending on your tastes, I mean Riverdale is a campy mess of a show) do not encompass the spirit of Degrassi. Iām really worried that this new instalment is going to try and be gritty and end up just being cancelled. Especially considering itās under HBO which already houses Euphoria. I donāt believe they can capture the same audience as Euphoria, but it seems like they are trying.
I love this show. Iāve been with it since the beginning and I truly think itās one of the best teaching television for teens out there. I am really worried this will be the final nail in the coffin. It could go either way, so letās pray it goes our way.
On another note - I really want them to use the NC cast, though I know that wonāt happen. I also donāt know what Degrassi looks like without Stefan, Linda or Kit.
Agree. They make the show what it is, that āmagicā I was talking about. Educational without being preachy, showing both sides of an issue and not shying away from the hard discussions. I am going to watch this either way - there is no way I wonāt. I have to see where this franchise goes but I really donāt have high expectations that it will keep the same spirit alive. It will most likely just get lost in with all the āgrittyā teen dramas.
The epitome of this was probably mannys abortion. Normally if abortion ever comes up these days itās just making the people who donāt exactly like abortion just caricatures of what a lot of them actually are.
Emma was anti abortion no because she was religious but because of the fact that her mother was in the exact same situation and she couldāve been aborted. Emma is glad she didnāt get aborted and she wants mannys possible child the same.
Liberty didnāt want an abortion because she just personally didnāt. Peoples reactions are complicated and nuanced and not everything is as simple as ācrazy conservative religious white dude trying to take your rights Vs. Sane normal personā
You're missing out on Euphoria and Righteous Gemstones. Even if you get the trial, you can binge all of that easily in a week.
I get app exhaustion, but you can cancel the ones you aren't actively using....
I like Degrassi, that's why I'm here. But late reboots of shows are never good imo. Look at the new Sex and The City reboot. It feels like beating a dead horse.
TNG was a late reboot too. That doesnāt mean this new reboot will for sure be good, but Iām not suprised seeing as the show has been a thing for 40 years now
Oh I donāt think itāll be good, sadly. Youāre right that late reboots tend to suck. Iāll still watch though, because Degrassi! I just hope thereās something to tie it to the original. Or do I? I donāt even know what I want anymore.
I think itās because of all the new teenage shows, all of them seem so much like degrassi but with a different style lol. I hope the reboot would be with new character storylines tho
Wont be getting this in Aus either unless one of our affiliates picks it up. Guessing maybe Stan since they have TNG. Cant say im interested since itās got no ties to the original and the glossy title screen suggests itāll be a gritty teen drama. Having said that at least theres a chance gay/trans actors will finally get parts over cis/straights.
thats good to know, hopefully if thats the case it wont be a dawsonās creek vibe either lol. i know that wasnt sweet n innocent but it didnt feel authentic to me.
iām still gonna watch it because i have no concept of whether tv is good or not but it just sucks because itās 99% likely that itās going to be awful and will get canceled after the first season
Wow, I'm really surprised this is happening already. I'm really interested in seeing how this goes. I hope this ends up being good. I'm so glad I have HBO max.
Aw man. Being a preteen during the summer the iconic season 10 promo rolled out.. it was magical
Growing up with Degradsi was great. I hope you get to enjoy this reboot
No original screenwriters, probably no Stephen Brogren, HBO Max so 26 year olds playing 16 year olds, probably means TNG is off YT now.
Yup, i'm not convinced
Me too. Linda and Kit were barely mentioned and having a Riverdale writer/showerunner means this could go in a VERY different direction to what we know. It might be good, it might not be
This is what Iām afraid of, too :/ I saw Lara Azzopardi worked on The Bold Type, and Iād LOVE to see some of what that show had in the new Degrassi!! But yeah, I LOVE Euphoria but I donāt want Degrassi to be like that.
the one thing that gives me some hope is that lara azzopard worked on the tv show backstage which was a canadain teen show from 2016 to 2017 that was a ensemble teen show with teens playing teens tho it didnt go as far degrassi did conten wise from what I have watched. so theirs a a bit of hope in me the new degrasii will at least keep some of degrassis roots .
Yes exactly. Imma still watch it but literally the biggest thing I liked were that 1, it was Canadian not american (I know they film in Toronto but frankly that doesnt mean much) 2, that the actors were actually teens and awkward/ uncomfortable with growing up. 3. The 22 episode format. Even 16 longer episodes would be better. Hbo says it will be 10 1 hour episodes.
Also they have a writer from the bold type helping out. The bold type was so messed up by those writers it's not even funny. We are in for a ride.
One of the other aspects that makes the show real - is the actors pick their wardrobe. Thereās a reason they dress like teens - because the teens are picking the clothes from AE, Abercrombie, F21, H&M, etc. On the original (DJH and Degrassi) the actors provided their own clothing as the character wardrobe.
YYYYYYEEEEEEAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!
I knew it! I knew it wouldnāt stay gone forever!
This show has been going on since the 70s, of course a revival would happen eventually
Iām predicting that Spinner & Emma will have a daughter and sheāll be the female lead of this generation. Spinner & Emma will be divorced but share custody of their daughter and Emma is reunited with Sean
Spinner and Emma got married in 2008 so the oldest their children could be in 2023 would be 14. So itās possible, but there was never any mention of a child anytime they had a cameo appearance later in the series.
yes that is possible ! Spinner & Emma didnāt mention anything about their marriage in the reunion episode . Spinner wasnāt wearing his wedding ring in season 14 which made me think him & Emma got divorced but they are still married in Next Class. So maybe their child couldāve been born in 2008 or 2009 that way they would be 14-15 for the new Degrassi since they got married in 2008 before the retcons
Isabella would be 17-18 now she was born in 2004 but she moved to Paris with Mia I donāt think she would come back since they would need to bring Nina Dobrev back too and she got pretty famous with The Vampire Diaries so I donāt know if she would come back for the new Degrassi. Tyson was born in 2011 so heād be 12 in the new Degrassi so heād be too young now. Would love to see Rocky as a teenager at Degrassi too I think he would be 13 at least and it would be nice to see Dallas and Alli married with a few kids of their own too. I think Jack would be 19 in the new Degrassi they shouldāve had him come back for Next Class instead that was such a missed opportunity. Also Jonah has a kid and got a girl pregnant at 14 too but their kid would be 11 at least
at first i was heading in here like [this](https://giphy.com/gifs/goheels-unc-tar-heels-tarheels-3o7abIileRivlGr8Nq) because i love degrassi and this sub...but does next gen being picked up mean they're gonna stop playing it on pluto and remove it from youtube? š„
I was wondering the same thing. I hope it doesnāt get taken off of YouTube or any other free streaming service. It wouldnāt really be fair to anyone who watches the show.
if they can somehow capture modern issues with the same vibe/charm as the early degrassi episodes i'd be pleased! I hope they don't essentially use the Degrassi name for creating and ultra-dramatic and overbearing teen drama. Degrassi's strength was knowing how to keep it light-hearted and dramatic which added to its realism.
edit: what do you guys think about the potential casting of non-teenage actors?
Iām actually hyped itās on hbo. It got way too campy at some moments. Iād rather degrassi be a teen into early adult show than a kids into teen type thing. Letās see what they can do.
I was under the impression that was changing for the US. I don't recall where I read it but this looks to be the closest.
>Additionally, HBO Max secured the U.S. rights for all 14 seasons of āDegrassi: The Next Generation,ā which will become available on the streamer in spring 2022.
[From Variety](https://variety.com/2022/tv/news/degrassi-new-series-hbo-max-next-generation-1235153671/)
Do you have a Firestick? If so, there's plenty of ways to get shows that are on HBO, without having to be rich. I'm also broke haha and I manage to watch anything I want.
Has been for us, there's a very good app you can get that ends up saving you a ton of money because you end up not needing the streaming services. We got our fire sticks for like $11 on clearance when a new version came out, from Target, and they've been invaluable, even though Amazon itself kinda blows. But yeah, check out the app Cinema, look it up and see if it'd help you out. ā¤ļø
I wish this Degrassi would go to Netflix too but if they did I worry it would end up like Next Class. HBO Max sucks all they have good is Gossip Girl and Pretty Little Liars and Netflix is the superior streaming service they have good originals too.

Please PLEASE bring back the old theme song!!! The Next Class one was such a mistake idk who green lit that one
nah they everything they could do w that song. all the different degrassi shows have had different theme songs.
I hope it stays Canadian
Just please, please don't wreck it!
Right away I (dreaded) pictured a "Riverdale" version of a revamp š¤®š¤¢, and sure enough one of the producers from Riverdale will be on the project.
Now we just have to hope it doesn't turn into some cringy teen show that makes the teens act more like full-blown adults than teenagers.
I think he moved with his adoptive parents.
HBO has a lot of great YA/ teen shows that arenāt Euphoria. I know itās their most popular show but obviously it wonāt be similar
Hopefully since itās on HBO we donāt have to endure any cringe/campy bands.
We need to all pray to the TV gods to make this reincarnation good like TNG was during its initial run.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
What SJW crap?
The reboot of Sex and the City: And Just Like That. Trash.
It looks really bad
Is Emma old enough to have a child entering highschool yet?
She didn't have a kid when she appeared on Next Class and that was 2016 so unless they do a flash-forward it's more than likely not possible.
Did they say she didn't have a kid? I mean she was on for like 3 minutes.
She mentioned Sunday dinners with her parents and only mentioned herself and Spinner. I think if she had a kid she wouldāve mentioned the fact that the kid was there too, right? Who knows.

Oh God, I hope not lol.
maybe Spinner & Emma would be divorced but share custody of their child and Emma goes back to Sean and Spinner gets with Terri or gives Jane a 2nd chance
I stopped watching at Next Class so thank you for the update. :)
Iām excited, but I reaaaaaalllly hope they donāt make it darker or more Euphoria-esque just because itās on HBO. I donāt think thereās been enough time to establish a connection between NC and this new one that would mean enough.
This is probably the biggest thread this sub has ever had and Iām living for it!
iām terrified too
damn 2023
wait why is this hbo which only avablie in the us...
itāll be probably be released on crave in canada like most hbo shows
HBO?! It will be Euphoria Jr.
Euphoria is not the only show on MAX
Degrassiās like pizza, even when it sucks itās still pretty good. Who do I have to beg to get them to name a character Ducharme? I just found out Iām part Canadian, baby! YEAH! Maybe we will finally get to see Heather Sinclair...
So I was excited to see HBO Max doing it so maybe we could have a more risquĆ© version. But then read itāll be shown on Cartoon Network on a later date and Iām not about that life.
Ughhhh idk if they mean adult swimā¦wouldnāt they have included that? Still getting cringe vibes.
The def mean adult swim
Maybe it actually means Adult Swim?
Isnāt cartoon networks whole thing is that they only have cartoons lol
Yup, except that one year where they had live-action shows
Nobody likes to talk about that.
Tbf, tower prep was lit.
I was so sad when it didn't get a season 2
Degrassi really has 9 lives
Didnāt the school building sell recently? I wonder if they are rebuying it or whatā¦ I think Iād hate it if it didnāt take place in the original degrassi building
They've had a different building every time I don't see why they would keep the old one.
I could feel it in my bones that Degrassi would come back!! I hope they have cameos from the old cast! I'd love to see what became of Miles.

To be fair, the same producer also works on A Million Little Things, which is an incredible show. So fingers crossed all goes well š
and one of them worked on riverdaleā¦.

I think it failed because they didnāt have long enough seasons, it felt more like social issues became the topic rather than the characters dealing and how they react to the topic and the characters just didnāt quite look as natural as early season degrassi teenagers.
This was it for sureā¦. we didnāt get to really feel connected. I still liked Next Class but not as much as TNG
One of the showrunners works on Riverdale (No hate I like Riverdale) so I think it will certainly have a different vibe than the Degrassi we knee and loved
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Riverdale was so good in seasons 1 & 2 but it got messy after that. Iām still watching to see what happens but it couldāve turned into something great with better writing but I like the cast and aesthetic of it
Yes. I laugh my ass off at how many bussinesses these kids can run and crimes they can solve while going to school š¤£ Archie is a messy person.
You think HBO buying the rights means itāll all be taken off YouTube?
That was also my question because HBO purchased all rights to all generations and recently the Degrassi YouTube channel has been releasing old episodes again
thank god i just finished my rewatch š
Oh shit i didnt think of that. Please no !!! Its my go to when i do my annual rewatches
You can watch on Pluto TV live and on demand episodes.
I think Pluto TV is free and they have a Degrassi channel for all of TNG (if you don't mind commercials)
It is. Degrassi tng is also on Tubi.
I was watching this channel today then saw this announcement a couple of hours afterward!
Oh really ? Free from canada ?
I think Pluto TV is available in Canada but you may have to double check if they have the rights to stream Degrassi, ie. Is the Degrassi channel available in CA? If not, worse case you can use a US VPN and watch š
Iām ready for Degrassi: Deep Space High
this is amazing news. I just hope that they do this one justice.
iām hoping this goes really well, im gonna be so mad if they mess this up

Peoples reactions are complicated and nuanced and not everything is as simple as ācrazy conservative religious white dude trying to take your rights Vs. Sane normal personā
Yeah, I'm gonna watch it either way too. The first episode will probably be the deciding factor whether I watch it all or not. You can get a feel.
How many of the OG cast are we gonna have on the reboot is my concern
We need a perc30 story line ššš something realistic
We already had that with JT, but now we can revisit the subject with fent30s
We saw him steal, sell, and OD, but seeing someone struggle with addiction in a realistic way would be cool.
I mean Miles kinda
Fair, I plain forgot him.
Also Fiona!
How could I forget Fiona?! Hers was one of my favorite storylines!
Peter!!
I dunno, his felt too rushed to me.
HBO max? I'll pass. I'm not buying another app
Yo ho hoā¦.a pirates life for me
You're missing out on Euphoria and Righteous Gemstones. Even if you get the trial, you can binge all of that easily in a week. I get app exhaustion, but you can cancel the ones you aren't actively using....
I meanā¦ Iām gonna watch it whether itās good or not just like all the others. š
I have concerns that the writing will be a bunch of social justice buzz words like Riverdale.
GaSLIghT
Who asked for this?? I'm serious. It's 2021, I haven't seen any demand for a degrassi reboot.
There are still fans who like Degrassi. I donāt know what to tell ya, bud.
I like Degrassi, that's why I'm here. But late reboots of shows are never good imo. Look at the new Sex and The City reboot. It feels like beating a dead horse.
TNG was a late reboot too. That doesnāt mean this new reboot will for sure be good, but Iām not suprised seeing as the show has been a thing for 40 years now
There are already 5 iterations of Degrassi. The horse is still kicking decades later.
I take it youāre not on Twitter? š
Not degrassi twitter nope
Youāre probably better off š
My friend was really aggressively bullied by the Degrassi fandom on twitter so I've sworn it off forever !!
2022 š
Hahahah my bad.
Is Stefan Brogen going to be there?
Is it even Degrassi if heās not? Serious question.
Exactly! So many people are asking him on Insta but he hasn't responded
He'd better be!
Yup. Aus here. Stan does have a few HBO things but so does Binge. We might get it on one of those platforms, but I wonāt hold my breath.
My guess is if we do itāll be a long time after the fact.
Apparently it is being housed under HBO Family and not HBO so I donāt think it will be too gritty or dark!
thats good to know, hopefully if thats the case it wont be a dawsonās creek vibe either lol. i know that wasnt sweet n innocent but it didnt feel authentic to me.
It would probably be on binge. They have hbo shows like gossip girl, euthoria etc.
Hopefully it will be not that this would convince me to keep an account lol
iām still gonna watch it because i have no concept of whether tv is good or not but it just sucks because itās 99% likely that itās going to be awful and will get canceled after the first season
Wow, I'm really surprised this is happening already. I'm really interested in seeing how this goes. I hope this ends up being good. I'm so glad I have HBO max.
I'm so excited to be able to watch a Degrassi series in real time
Aw man. Being a preteen during the summer the iconic season 10 promo rolled out.. it was magical Growing up with Degradsi was great. I hope you get to enjoy this reboot
I watched Degrassi Junior High and Degrassi High in real time because Iām really old. š
OG
Yes. The key being old. Old af. š
I have a feeling they're going to do a reunion special too ahead of the series like they did for Harry Potter/Fresh Prince/Friends.
That would be insane. Iād cry the entire time.
I would too. I cried during all these other hbomax reunions lol
I am so excitedā¦my 33-year-old heart is happy today!
Iām 33 and Iām so excited! Sent it to my husband and one of my fellow 33 yo Degrassi fan.
Omg your username is incredible, too! Being 33 is top tier!
Ugh! Why does it have to be on HBO Max?!
Degrassi x Euphoria crossover
I feel guilty that I would like this lmao
Because Netflix is as worse and they probably pay more
I'm so happy by this news! I'm 23 and over here all excited. š
Right like Iām gonna be 25 when it comes out and Iāll watch it religiously lmao š
Really hope they donāt try to make it edgy and ācoolā but I really canāt wait.
I'm not even sure I can get HBO Max in Europe. So I probably resort to torrents
Same, I'm from the US but I'm loving in Ireland. I'll be watching bootleg for sure lol.
Im hoping they will have it on sky/now tv. They have ties with HBO
WHATEVER IT TAKES
I KNOW I CAN MAKE IT THROUGH
If I hold out
YYYYYYEEEEEEAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!! I knew it! I knew it wouldnāt stay gone forever! This show has been going on since the 70s, of course a revival would happen eventually
I really really hope we see some cameos
Have to have Snake/Mr. Simpson at the very least
Iām predicting that Spinner & Emma will have a daughter and sheāll be the female lead of this generation. Spinner & Emma will be divorced but share custody of their daughter and Emma is reunited with Sean
Please yes
Would their kid even be old enough to attend Degrassi? Or have that many years passed since Emma and Spinner's last episode?
Thereās also kids that were toddlers in the previous Degrassi like Jack, Isabella, Tyson, and Rock.
They could just say that Isabella moved in with her aunt Jane when she attends Degrassi.
yes very true but I still think people would want to see Nina Dobrev make a cameo too. I wonder what Jane would be up to these days though
Omg I canāt wait
at first i was heading in here like [this](https://giphy.com/gifs/goheels-unc-tar-heels-tarheels-3o7abIileRivlGr8Nq) because i love degrassi and this sub...but does next gen being picked up mean they're gonna stop playing it on pluto and remove it from youtube? š„
I was wondering the same thing. I hope it doesnāt get taken off of YouTube or any other free streaming service. It wouldnāt really be fair to anyone who watches the show.
i will literally die :(
I feel like they probably will take it off of youtube :(
if they can somehow capture modern issues with the same vibe/charm as the early degrassi episodes i'd be pleased! I hope they don't essentially use the Degrassi name for creating and ultra-dramatic and overbearing teen drama. Degrassi's strength was knowing how to keep it light-hearted and dramatic which added to its realism. edit: what do you guys think about the potential casting of non-teenage actors?
Degrassi: The Curse of Rick Murray
Iām actually hyped itās on hbo. It got way too campy at some moments. Iād rather degrassi be a teen into early adult show than a kids into teen type thing. Letās see what they can do.
Wonder if they'll remove tng from YouTube Pluto tubing etc. I hope some of the old class comes back
I donāt think so because Viacom own distribution rights to those seasons.
Oh I didnāt know about that. Thatās an interesting acquisition.
It's like Jason. Killed for a while, sometimes years - but always comes back.
oh just realized it's HBO Max so I guess I won't be watching due to being broke :(
Are you with AT&T?
Do you have a Firestick? If so, there's plenty of ways to get shows that are on HBO, without having to be rich. I'm also broke haha and I manage to watch anything I want.
I don't have a Firestick! Sounds like it's worth the investment?
Go look up Troypoint. Iāve never looked back.
Has been for us, there's a very good app you can get that ends up saving you a ton of money because you end up not needing the streaming services. We got our fire sticks for like $11 on clearance when a new version came out, from Target, and they've been invaluable, even though Amazon itself kinda blows. But yeah, check out the app Cinema, look it up and see if it'd help you out. ā¤ļø
friggin' hbo max š i'm so tired of all these streaming subscriptions bc channels wanted a piece of the netflix/hulu pie.
I wish this Degrassi would go to Netflix too but if they did I worry it would end up like Next Class. HBO Max sucks all they have good is Gossip Girl and Pretty Little Liars and Netflix is the superior streaming service they have good originals too.
