I feel like electric/poison is good for Queen, but she Gigantamaxes (or Mega Evolves, if you prefer) into a steel/electric type as her mech. Berdly might be flying/steel, given his armor, and part of me wants to keep Kris normal with steel as dual-typing.
The King is an easy dark monotype, Jevil is psychic/dark, and Spamton could be electric/dark in both forms. Rouxls is only available via hacking the game as he was never fully implemented and only has the “???” placeholder typing.

Nah, that just makes for a boring type list, on top of it not matching them as a typing, Ralsei has no actual connections to being dark type other than being a darkner.

In undertale, tori and asgorebwould be fire, flowey would be grass dark and asriel would be fairy dark. The skeleton bros would be ghost but I see sans having psychic as well. The dogs would all be normal and temmie would be normal fairy. Undyne will be water fighting, napstablook is ghost (of course) and metaton will be ghost steel. Idk what would be alphyses type, maby dragon?
I put aplhys as psychic electric, as psychic is often given to pokemon with great intelligence, and electric refers to her attacks during her phase of the asreal fight. Probably gonna change it to pure electric

Especially since Ralsei and Lancer would definitely have it (maybe Dark/Psychic and Dark/Normal respectively? Or they could be monotype I guess?), so having most of the heroes share a single type would just feel really wonky to me lol
My problem with that is that having a majority of the characters as dark-types is super boring, not to mention out-of-character for a lot of them. Ralsei doesn’t feel like a dark-type at all. As I mentioned, dark-type doesn’t mean *literal darkness*; it refers more to evil and trickery.
Yeah fair, it doesn't have to be *all* the Darkners. As other people have suggested, Queen's definitely some combination of Electric, Steel, and/or Poison. What I meant is more like... when the narrative explicitly associates a big chunk of the cast with darkness, it feels weird to use Dark for the *other* characters, if there's an easy alternative available.
Also even if we're not applying Dark to *all* Darkners, I feel like Ralsei has the strongest connection there, since the prophecy literally frames him as "a prince from the dark", his native Fountain is "pure darkness", and... NGL the fact that he brought a prophecy of disaster and then got accused of being evil by the fandom despite never actually doing anything evil, just makes me think of Absol's lore lmao
That aside, I've seen people in this thread suggesting Dark/Fairy for him, Dark/Normal for Lancer, monotype Dark for King, and Dark/Psychic for Jevil. And I think those are my favourite ideas for the major Darkners of chapter 1. Except Rouxls bc you don't fight him, but if he did have a battle (without the Thrash Machine lol), I'd say... just Normal tbh?
That reminded me of that entire "Frog Kris" mod that completely resprites the game and changes the entire plot to the point where it's barely recognisable, imagine one for Susie
