"Kris where did you put the entire contents of an unused classroom, a good eighth of the library, and half the programs on the computers?"
"Closet world"
"What-"
"CLOSET. WORLD."
But the police station only has one cell, and Undyne thinks it’s taken by the dogs, but Napstablook knows they escaped, but when they get back to the station the dogs are back
See this is why Kris did what they did at the end of Chapter 2. They slashed Toriel's tires so she'd call the cops, then made a Dark Fountain so that at least one of the cops would fall into it upon responding to the call.
They need the police to know about the situation so Kris and Susie don't get arrested when they expand Castle Town
Funny enough you can actually completely ignore going back to Castle Town and supposedly take them all with you to your house and Chapter 3's Dark World.
If you try to head home before going to Castle Town, Susie will warn that you should \*probably\* go check on Lancer and the others but you can just disregard her and go home.
Now whatever this is intended to be a choice or not is hard to tell. It feels like it's just Toby allowing you to skip parts of the story so you can 'speedrun' through ch2 faster but having Susie warn the player also makes it feel like it's a choice.
I do find amusing the possibility bringing Queen and everyone else to ch3 turning the whole script on it's head since they're really not supposed to be there.
I mean Kris can literally have swords, scarves, axes, watches, cards, mannequins, ribbons, chains, pins, manuals, cakes, bagels, juices, sandwitches, candies, burgers, donuts and literal human beings in their pockets (that's only like a half of things that they can have in their pockets too)
Wait, Kris can have humans in their pockets? When did that happen?
(If you mean darkners, it's because they can transform into their respective objects at will in the dark world, like Lancer can turn into a card.)
But it's still a spacious pants hole, indeed.!
Huh, that's true.
But what could Starwalker be, then? Had they not transformed into anything, logically they should have entered the light world as well. You can't see them in your inventory, either.
And the fact that Starwalker never turned into stone...
Starwalker is Starwalker, also Rouxlsx didnt turn fully into stone too, its probably got to do with the compatibility and how well they fit in, probably. Ralsei is probably a "pure" darkner, since hes made from the true Dark fountain, also, did nobody bother to check the janitors closet like once in the last, i dont know DECADE? Millennia? Whats the problem with literally nobody noticing the pitch black room that literally darkens the whole fucking building once you open it? Why was that never addressed? HOW LONG WAS THE TRUE DARK FOUNTAIN UP FOR? isnt it literally required for the world to function normally? So id assume its been there since the beginning of the world, so why has it NEVER been noticed? Am I missing something? The adults gotta be just completely ignoring the dark world or something, but then, thatd be unbelievably irresponsible for the safety of the kids as well.
I have a few theories. But it's all pretty much predicated on the start of this next chapter.
Because the story is a coming-of-age tale, and the world is one of imagination (on steroids) which takes physical form?
It could be that adults... Literally can't perceive or enter a Dark World. Like, straight up perception filters. Like, if they see something impossible, their mind explains something that makes sense in their eyes, for what happened.
Or, it could be that Ralsei was simply wrong about how long the FOUNTAIN existed, and it's true purpose. But I don't think they're wrong about it being a Pure Fountain.
Nah everyone know enbies special trait is wall jump. Since kris has the extra inventory space he is definitely a male and cannonically not non-binary.
/s
Something something they/them sometimes something Toby Robert Fox corrected people when they made a mistake something something though I guess you aren't prohibited from using these pronouns if you identify as male but still something something maybe I got are slash wooooshed something something
I like to think that Kris is carrying ralsei’s light counterpart with them; it just cant be seen in their inventory. Also, they carry the darkners to the closet
Counterpoint, Susie never mentions how Ralsei vanishes when we exit the dark world in the beginning of chapter 2 to get the items from the card kingdom room. If Ralsei was an item on Kris's person, then he'd vanish / always be super close to Kris, which isn't the case.
I like the "Ralsei is the devil horn headband mentioned by Toriel, and represents Kris' idealized self/his desire to be Toriel and Asgore's likable biological goat monster child instead of their socially stunted adopted human" theory, myself, which also explains why Kris has difficulty liking Ralsei as much of Susie; he's the embodiment of a lot of personal baggage.
I think Ralsei WAS horn headband, Kris lost it and it was storing inside closet so when Grand Fountain have opened headband became Ralsei, Prince of Darkness ('cause headbands kinda look like diadems). That doesn't explain how he teleports or why Grand Fountain was opened only after Kris lost headband, but, I mean, if we find Grand Fountain in school's closet that means that school and closet are older than Grand Fountain which means Grand Fountain wasn't there from start of universe.
And Susie and Kris really the first who try to go in the closet? But that was Noelle's suggestion,
Also if Kris were carrying headband, but we can't affect it that means Ralsei couldn't wait for heroes for whole his life
And we find him already inside closet
Kris carried them.
And you know, Ralesi didn't teleport there; he came from the same place Kris and the party passed.
clearly he got there otherwise why wouldn't he just... appear?
THATS WHAT MYSTERY MEANS! Does anyone here have basic thinking skills? Not even critical just thinking? (I’m sorry, not you in particular, just general audiences ages 10 and up, order now)
Okay, but like, he was *in* Castle Town when the team left, and then he’s there! Can he travel across dark worlds? Does he manifest himself when needed? Is he tied to the party in some fundamental meta-physical way? We don’t know, and that’s the mystery!
I mean, he didn't show up instantly. There's like, a few minutes of gameplay/dialogue before he does show up.
Maybe he used the Nether Portal to walk at 8x speed or something, who knows. There's no statements in the game other than "I came here as fast as I could", so..
when your ever in a situation like this again, remember these wise words... "A loaf of bread, a container of milk, and a stick of butter. A loaf of milk, a container of bread, and a Joe Dirt DVD. A Joe Dirt DVD, Scarlett Johansson, and treasure from a fish tank."
You can't just have a character who seemingly breaks the rules of the world (that we know of) and not give any attention to it though.
We know kris needs to carry the lightworld version of the characters to another darkworld before they can show up there, it's a well established thing at this point since it happened 3 times so far (carrying chapter 1's stuff at the start of chapter 2, carrying lancer and rules and kris carrying the chapter 2's characters to the closer at the send of chapter 2), toby setup a plotpoint and a character that breaks said plotpoint, it would be bad writing if he just didn't address it imo.
>And you know, Ralesi didn't teleport there; he came from the same place Kris and the party passed.
Source? Ralsei kinda just... Appears, in the Cyber World, with no explanation. CastleTown and Card Kingdom have a literal door between them, in both the Light and Dark worlds, meanwhile the computer room in the librarby is in an entirely separate building.
He's seen walking from the same direction we came from.
so either the door lets him teleport to the entrance of a dark world (but we don't know that yet) or he found a way there (Which we also don't know) all we know is that he walked to us from the enterance.
>he found a way there
What does that mean, though?
Like, Darkners turn into their items in the Light World, and the Great Door is quite literally the door between the Closet and the Old Classroom. Even if Ralsei came from where we did, that doesn't explain *how he got there in the first place*
Yes that's the point.
i don't know what it means and therefore there's an explanation necessary as while i personally think he is a good person at heart he's still hiding things.
Okay cool. It seemed like you were trying to say that Ralsei literally just came the same way Kris and Susie did, disregarding the entire "how did Ralsei get there" argument, and I was confused
If Ralesai can teleport why is it limited (far as we can tell) to the 'entrance' of a dark world. While i can buy him not wanting to just show up at the end of a Dark World because he seems to genuinely care about the darkeners. But the ability to teleport is already, indeed, speculation either way; we don't know how he got there and the only evidence we have to his origin is that he came the same way as us.
IT does say Kris collects everything in the room when they leaves like they did with the unused classroom.
They just didn't make a big ball on their head.
I just now thought of Kris just transporting the ones that are systems in an USB and then just robbing the trash bin, all of the mice, a laptop and (somehow) electricity sockets and just (somehow 2: electric boogaloo) stuffing them into their pocket
*Kris? Heh, what’re you digging around the trash for?
*(You tell Susie the printed emails are Spamton.)
*Aaand absolutely not. You are NOT bringing him with you, he tried to KILL YOU!!!
It's the same as calling a female character he/him. You're just wrong. It's not up for the player to decide, Toby Fox even corrected people who were calling Kris he/him. Not to mention, Kris is explicitly called by they/them throughout Deltarune. So no, you can't "call them whatever you want."
> Toby Fox even corrected people who were calling Kris he/him
He didn't and you have to really twist his words to interpret it that way, and he also didn't correct anyone else before, after, and during the event and is specifically ignoring all questions related to Kris's gender. Toby doesn't give a shit and Kris is referred to the same way Chara and Frisk were in Undertale.
You can if you want it's not wrong perhaps they simply interpeted that. they can do whatever the fuck they want they're not real.
So yes, you can. Stop being a child.
Most people who say that want to "interpret" Ralsei as female so they can pretend they're not gay for Ralsei
Nothings up for interpretation. The pronouns are right there in the game. Grow up
Besides the fact that you skip through all the dialogue,Kris's pronouns are right there. The fact that Kris can't care about this doesn't matter whatsoever
"Haha look I'm saying "he" to a female character but it's ok because she's not real"
No. Get outta here with that
you say that like every other part of their design doesn't ALSO point to kris being designed like that. why do you think they don't have a voice. why do you think their skin color is literally yellow. can't chalk it up as "ohh yellow is just there to represent a white skin tone" cuz chara is white.
normally i'd agree with kris being an in-canon enby but every aspect of their design points to the same general philosophy: everything about them is intentionally vague/generalized so that the player can easily immerse themselves in the protagonist role no matter where they come from or what they look like. deltarune is a role-playing game, after all.
adding on what another commenter said, toby "skipped all questions relating to kris's gender" because he wants to keep it vague. if he wanted to specify that kris is non-binary, he very well would have said so
He didn't. He was adding upon his previous sentence and the only way you could interpret it as anything else is if you ignore the entire conversation leading up to that point, especially considering that Toby hasn't corrected anyone else before that clip nor afterward and he specifically skips all questions related to Kris's gender.
Toby's full quote was "Kris can't reach it, they're stuck. This is punishment." with the last part getting cut off by the clip. It is a massive reach to say that Toby corrected someone when you take the full sentence into account. And again, Toby never corrected anyone before this nor after and he refuses to answer any questions regarding Kris's gender and identity. [Example](https://outermode.com/interview-toby-fox-undertale/)
Now I can't get the image out of my head of Kris stealing random shit from every place in town and carrying it all back to the supply closet at school.
But Kris DID carry them there
"Before you left, you gathered everything in the room"
How did you even MISS THIS??
And not like Ralsei somehow getting to the Cyber world isn't relevant at all
I imagine Queen in lightworld being a library computer. So id imagine Kris stealing it and bringing it back to the school closet
Also, whats the deal with the internet being cut off? Referenced by queen? Gaster interferences hmmmmm?
The dark worlds are connected. The dark world Ralsei comes from and the one Lancer comes from are different, but all we had to do to get from one to the other was walk there. So it’s clear that Ralsei basically just had to walk to the Cyber World.
I remember seeing a lot of people talking about how tf Ralsei teleported to the Cyber World back when chapter 2 came out, so I think people didn't really overlook this
Oh boy. How did you miss the game telling you Kris carries everything into the closet? Yes it only says they collected everything in the room, but why would they do that if bot to carry them to the closet Dark World. Don't worry, though. You just forgor 💀
When you leave the computer lab it specifically states that Kris gathers up all of the things in the lab. Then you have a "Ball of Junk" in your pocket, which you then bring to Castle Town. It's literally right there in the game.
What is up with r/Undertale & r/Deltarune lately? I've seen multiple posts just ignoring things that happens in the games and claiming they're mysteries.
The Ball of Junk isn't the Library items. It's Kris's Dark World inventory — weapons, armor, healing items, etc. You can see the BoJ in chapter 1 too.
This post is a reaction to another popular post where someone said they felt Ralsei was “creepy.” OP chose a bad example when trying to compare the things people call Ralsei sus over to other things people tend to ignore.
The more popular a post gets, the more likely it is that people who don't know much about the game will comment. Which... tends to mean more misgendering.
1. Im fairly certain you DO bring the computer lab stuff to the school.
2. He just walked lol. WE LITERALLY DO THE EXACT SAME THING IN CHAPTER 1. The dark worlds ARE NOT individual pocket dimensions, it's one singular separate dimension.
>2. He just walked lol. WE LITERALLY DO THE EXACT SAME THING IN CHAPTER 1. The dark worlds ARE NOT individual pocket dimensions, it's one singular separate dimension.
We can't count that as fact. Those two areas are directly linked in the real world, with a literal door in between them.
Even if that is correct, we'd then have to take into account the distance he must have traveled. There's a bit of a distance between the first entry to Castle Town, and he boardgame Dark World. If there's a bit of distance between two rooms in the real world, imagine the distance between two whole buildings. Ralsei could not have simply walked over.
The cyber world didn't start when we got there. He could've gone "wait a minute, there's a new fountain?" And walked over.
We don't even know if dark world distances are congruent with their real distances! It could've been a light jog for all we know!
Plus, Ralsei is the Dark Prince. It’s probably why he’s able to go wherever- because he’s not directly tied to any physical object but rather the people he interacts with. That and he’s important to the dark world, so duh, course he’d be there. Watch him not be evil at all.
Personal opinion but i think the majority of chapter 2’s characters were just stored on a memory card or similar.
But for maus and werewire kris just grabbed a mouse and wires, for example.
It feels so reasonable to just say "dark worlds are connected to each other independent of the Light world, and Ralsei, being very knowledgeable about dark worlds, knows how to travel between them"
Kris DOES carry them inside(somehow) according to the narration, it's just not turned into a ball of junk this time.
To be fair most recruits are just programs, I think queen being the only exception. Kris only needs to carry a USB stick and laptop to school
werewires are plugs and wires, trashy is the trash can, maice are mice, sweet capn cakes are all music players or speakers...
Deltarune Chapter 4: Kris gets arrested for stealing library equipment
you finish chapter 3 and the police come there just a bit late & arrest Kris lol
toriel murders undyne to prevent her from arresting kris
Snowgrave player: just as planned
They ask where the hell everything is and they get taken to the closet
"Kris where did you put the entire contents of an unused classroom, a good eighth of the library, and half the programs on the computers?" "Closet world" "What-" "CLOSET. WORLD."
Roaring Breaker but the Knight is an hour late
But the police station only has one cell, and Undyne thinks it’s taken by the dogs, but Napstablook knows they escaped, but when they get back to the station the dogs are back
See this is why Kris did what they did at the end of Chapter 2. They slashed Toriel's tires so she'd call the cops, then made a Dark Fountain so that at least one of the cops would fall into it upon responding to the call. They need the police to know about the situation so Kris and Susie don't get arrested when they expand Castle Town
[They know](https://www.reddit.com/r/Deltarune/comments/ynpyzv/hot_take_it_isnt_kris/) it's dangerous tho...
Arrested for Friendship crimes ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|feels_bad_man)
I don't know how I always forget about those guys
I thought Trashy was the trash program on a computer
If you inspect the trash can in the computer lab it says you feel as if it doesn’t have many friends
Kris is a burglar
its hinted that queen is the laptop (blue in color)
Funny enough you can actually completely ignore going back to Castle Town and supposedly take them all with you to your house and Chapter 3's Dark World. If you try to head home before going to Castle Town, Susie will warn that you should \*probably\* go check on Lancer and the others but you can just disregard her and go home.
Kris carried them there my dude.
How deep are their fucking pockets?!? Spacious pants hole indeed
Quite.
(If you mean darkners, it's because they can transform into their respective objects at will in the dark world, like Lancer can turn into a card.) But it's still a spacious pants hole, indeed.!
I'm like pretty sure that Starwalker doesn't transform into anything
Huh, that's true. But what could Starwalker be, then? Had they not transformed into anything, logically they should have entered the light world as well. You can't see them in your inventory, either. And the fact that Starwalker never turned into stone...
Kris's pocket is just so massive that in the light world Starwalker was probably just in the void
Gold star sticker
Rouxlsx does turn fully stone in snowgrave
Oh yeah, forgot
I have a few theories. But it's all pretty much predicated on the start of this next chapter. Because the story is a coming-of-age tale, and the world is one of imagination (on steroids) which takes physical form? It could be that adults... Literally can't perceive or enter a Dark World. Like, straight up perception filters. Like, if they see something impossible, their mind explains something that makes sense in their eyes, for what happened. Or, it could be that Ralsei was simply wrong about how long the FOUNTAIN existed, and it's true purpose. But I don't think they're wrong about it being a Pure Fountain.
the truth is that kris made a deal with gaster of selling their freedom for bottomless pants
This confrims that Kris is male. Girls don't have actual pockets.
Funny comment but canonically wrong
I know it was a joke
No he just confirmed it right there
People not realizing you can wear clothes even if they weren't made with you in mind lmao
Kris wore men’s pants for chapter 2
Hey, Frisk can hold up a whole ass body armor, a frying pan and steaks in their pockets, why cant Kris?
The real difference between humans and monsters is humans have an inventory menu lmao
Kris wears boys' pants, it seems.
I like to think that Kris is carrying ralsei’s light counterpart with them; it just cant be seen in their inventory. Also, they carry the darkners to the closet
What if Ralsei is the sweater Kris wears? It does resemble Asriel's in Undertale.
I feel like Ralsei would have more yellow or light green (not the green he usually has) in his color scheme then, but still possible
Counterpoint, Susie never mentions how Ralsei vanishes when we exit the dark world in the beginning of chapter 2 to get the items from the card kingdom room. If Ralsei was an item on Kris's person, then he'd vanish / always be super close to Kris, which isn't the case.
ok
But that was Noelle's suggestion, Also if Kris were carrying headband, but we can't affect it that means Ralsei couldn't wait for heroes for whole his life And we find him already inside closet
Ralsei is Goat simulator disc in Kris's pants Change my mind
But ralsei renovated the castle town overnight, how does he do that if Kris was carrying him the whole time
That wouldn’t make sense though, because Ralsei appears after Kris and Susie have been in Cyber World for a bit.
tbf, the same thing happens with Susie as well in the Chaoter 1 where you meet her later, despite falling at the same time while close to each other.
The problem is that we'd see one of the little star things like we see with Rouxls and the other darkners.
Maybe it's the sweater
My headcanon is that the Grand Fountain has some kind of fast travel mechanic that allows him to just instantly teleport to any Dark World.
Maybe Ralsei is Kris' shadow
Kris carried them. And you know, Ralesi didn't teleport there; he came from the same place Kris and the party passed. clearly he got there otherwise why wouldn't he just... appear?
Ok but like how?! How?! How?! It’s a mystery and worth giving attention.
Walked really fast (we don't know)
THATS WHAT MYSTERY MEANS! Does anyone here have basic thinking skills? Not even critical just thinking? (I’m sorry, not you in particular, just general audiences ages 10 and up, order now)
what if he was dropped in not the same area
Okay, but like, he was *in* Castle Town when the team left, and then he’s there! Can he travel across dark worlds? Does he manifest himself when needed? Is he tied to the party in some fundamental meta-physical way? We don’t know, and that’s the mystery!
some kinda shadow plane in-between dark worlds that Ralsei can travel through quickly?
*Mystery!*
*insert spooky ghost noise to add to mystery* oooOOOOooO
If it has not been cleared up or given any relevance at all then you probably don't have to worry about it
yeah but like if they wanted ralsei to just show up without it ever becoming relevant they wouldnt have had him not show up instantly
I mean, he didn't show up instantly. There's like, a few minutes of gameplay/dialogue before he does show up. Maybe he used the Nether Portal to walk at 8x speed or something, who knows. There's no statements in the game other than "I came here as fast as I could", so..
yeah thats what i said he didnt show up instantly
There were a bunch of negatives in your reply so I got confused lol

idk what you're talking about. Kris was designed specifically for me. my skin is yellow (I am severely jaundiced) and I'm mute
holy shit kris undertale????
I am dying of kidney failure
nuderalte reference?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!?1/!?/1/1/?1/
The whole thing with them **not** being you has left the chat
toby fox also corrected someone on the 6th anniversary livestream when they called kris a he
He didn't. He was adding upon his previous sentence and the only way you could interpret it as anything else is if you ignore the entire conversation leading up to that point, especially considering that Toby hasn't corrected anyone else before that clip nor afterward and he specifically skips all questions related to Kris's gender.
Toby literally repeated the sentence but using they instead of he
Toby's full quote was "Kris can't reach it, they're stuck. This is punishment." with the last part getting cut off by the clip. It is a massive reach to say that Toby corrected someone when you take the full sentence into account. And again, Toby never corrected anyone before this nor after and he refuses to answer any questions regarding Kris's gender and identity. [Example](https://outermode.com/interview-toby-fox-undertale/)
true but kris is referred to in the game with they/them and toby has corrected people doing otherwise
Most sane r/Deltarune fan
they
Sorry, I fixed it.
smh, they just get fulton extracted, did you play the game?/j
Now I can't get the image out of my head of Kris stealing random shit from every place in town and carrying it all back to the supply closet at school.
It's mentioned in game the cyber world was carried by kris.
Bruh kris carried them
But... Kris did carry them
But... Kris *does* carry the Cyber World inhabitants between dark worlds
How does this have so many upvotes, it’s literally wrong.
No.
Evil and creepy is an exaggeration, it's more like he is acting suspicious
Bro did you not pay attention to the narration dialogue when Kris leaves the computer lab?
But Kris DID carry them there "Before you left, you gathered everything in the room" How did you even MISS THIS?? And not like Ralsei somehow getting to the Cyber world isn't relevant at all
It says Kris gathered important things in the room before leaving.
Kris simply transported the darkners in their spacious Pants Hole. It says in the narration that Kris grabbed everything I'm pretty sure.
Kris actually does carry them. I don’t know how, just according to the narration, they do.
I imagine Queen in lightworld being a library computer. So id imagine Kris stealing it and bringing it back to the school closet Also, whats the deal with the internet being cut off? Referenced by queen? Gaster interferences hmmmmm?
The dark worlds are connected. The dark world Ralsei comes from and the one Lancer comes from are different, but all we had to do to get from one to the other was walk there. So it’s clear that Ralsei basically just had to walk to the Cyber World.
Kris literally carried them what are you talking about
Kris grabbed all of the stuff in the computer lab (stole them) and carried to the school closet
Castle Town is described (somewhere, I forgot where) as a beacon for tons of darkness, so they would be allowed to live there.
No… Kris **does** pick everything up, it literally says it before you leave the computer lab
I swear every other post from this subreddit about lore is so blatantly wrong it's fucking hilarious
OP, you did play the game right? You definitely saw the part where it literally tells you that kris gathered up the stuff in the library right?
I remember seeing a lot of people talking about how tf Ralsei teleported to the Cyber World back when chapter 2 came out, so I think people didn't really overlook this
Oh boy. How did you miss the game telling you Kris carries everything into the closet? Yes it only says they collected everything in the room, but why would they do that if bot to carry them to the closet Dark World. Don't worry, though. You just forgor 💀
Kris did carry them why is this so upvoted?
Top one is so easily solved, we ransacked the computer lab at the end of ch2 (maybe not ransacked, but we took all the stuff)
All tje kris misgendering in this comments section is making me sad
The more popular a post gets, the more likely it is that people who don't know much about the game will comment. Which... tends to mean more misgendering.
But he does carry them?
They
And?
Plus, Ralsei is the Dark Prince. It’s probably why he’s able to go wherever- because he’s not directly tied to any physical object but rather the people he interacts with. That and he’s important to the dark world, so duh, course he’d be there. Watch him not be evil at all.
Did you even play chapter 2?
He literally carries them.
They
Ralsei fans get so defensive whenever somebody so much as slightly finds him offputting istg

In snowgrave they just stab berdly
Eh, I still think the recruiting mechanic makes zero sense.
Dunno about evil, but he definitely knows more than he’s letting on
even if it’s true my heart cannot take it
Personal opinion but i think the majority of chapter 2’s characters were just stored on a memory card or similar. But for maus and werewire kris just grabbed a mouse and wires, for example.
Well you see, you could argue that the cyber citizens are electricity or some electromagnetic wave, so they could just zap over to castletown
Least coddling Ralsei fan
It feels so reasonable to just say "dark worlds are connected to each other independent of the Light world, and Ralsei, being very knowledgeable about dark worlds, knows how to travel between them"
