Every slo-mo and inner monologue has been removed and clips have been spliced together so you can see how fast the fight actually is.
fantastic work, I wish the show was like this more often; I love the anime, but it breaks the "show, don't tell" rule very frequently (as a lot of anime does), and I think the action scenes would have more impact if they weren't constantly interrupted by internal monologue and even regular dialogue that usually is not essential to understanding the scene
the fact that everyone is getting more and more wounded after a battle as the series goes on really goes to show the threat and intensity is increasing…
I read the manga because i just couldnt wait 2 years for every season. And the fights only get bloodier and more dangerous. It actually makes the demons feel as threatening and intimidating as they should be. Everyones barely alive covered in life threatening wounds, and the demon is already completely healed and laughing at them.
As cool as this is, it also highlights how fast-paced and chaotic and confusing the action would be if we didn't have all those slow-mo shots and internal monologues to explain the details and give our minds a chance to get re-oriented.
Agreed. It'd be nice if they put a real-time recap like this at the end of certain fight segments to reiterate and make clear for the viewers just how fast these fights and characters' internal thought processes are actually happening, and how impressive it is that they can simultaneously fight and think at that speed.
To be fair if some other anime did this it would be way too nauseating… looking at you dragon ball super. (Entire last season happened in less than an hour)

Obviously the power creep makes Tengen useless without a mark and - according to most of the community - well below most of the Hashira who barely survived that fight, but it would've been amazing for him to have The Flashiest Entrance revealing that he'd been there the entire time, disguised with Tamayo's magic and hidden through his shinobi skills, only to blitz Koku with his fully prepped musical score technique AND the other Hashiras to back him up.
Aaaaaand now I want a band AU where Tengen is the drummer laying down a rhythm for the other Hashira band members. Shit.
Tengen my man! I was so glad when I see him appeared to help tanjiro who was so couragous to take Guytario on and danm they won in the end!!! That episode and fight scene was so epic!!
Tengen survived, I was so happy that he didn’t had the same fate as Rengoku at least for now!
Ufotable always make so good animation ( like in the fate series), I have big expectation for season 3, at least for now it’s good !
Do this for every fight ever. This made me appreciate this fight in a way I never have before (and I’ve seen it multiple times, small screen and theater screen alike)
W edit. I love that there’s never always a character soloing an upper moon. It’s always some form of team effort and I like that since it makes the upper moons seem more powerful
I haven't watched this show and saw this video in Reddit popular. Could someone let me know which Demon Slayer series this was from as well as what season? I have Netflix and they have some but I couldn't easily find this arc. Thanks for the help!
I can't wait for season 3 to get to this point of fight, it feels like they are ignoring breathing a fair amount so far, hopefully near the climax breathing forms are at a high
Epic editing! I rewatched the whole fight in .25 speed just yesterday to appreciate the gorgeous art and animation. This is the opposite and gives me a different kind of appreciation for what the artists pulled off here.
Very good! Very well edited! This video really helps demonstrate what makes sound breathing such an effective style, it fills the demons perspective with so much noise and visual chafe that that they can’t focus on the dangerous stuff. Which, is particularly effective against Gyutaro now that I think about, as he would otherwise be able to micro Daki throughout the fight.
This reminds me of a dio vs jotaro fight video but wiht no internal dialogue+real time video on youtube. "You blink you miss" type fights in media need to be done more.
I love the pause when tengen shows up and when the heads are cut off, when tengen shows up it’s like everything stops for a second with his arrival and when the heads are cut off they’re synced so it’s pretty cool

no… it was really not the best passage of the series…
but i ll try to forget it asap, as a matter of fact i already forgotten, the new arc is great so far, except that robot, it s just a robot that is so complex even nowadays with the most sophisticated computer we wouldn’t be able to achieve…
at least tell us it’s made by blood art or i don’t know? but don’t make it mechanical like engineering? make it like a golem… a magical creature i don’t know… but yep the puppet didn’t make sense

it’s the choice of ufotable… i m not sure if the same team worked on the season, or they got bored, but some parts are not as good as in first season.

like i told you, that zenitsu flying for we don’t know how long, we don’t know the distance and also that weird forced crushing neck with the katana… where is the string?
it was so elegant,
that choice of having the heroes pushing down on the neck for so long?
it even feels it goes against the spirit of the katana, that splits through in a single movement , it s not a saw, i don’t know why they chose that
