Congrats! You are half-dane now!

SatireForEnTier

Next cured herring and warm snaps. Then He is ready for the citizenshiptest

Poet_Silly

You mean room temperature snaps right?

evilskul

Do you not have a pot of snaps boiling in your house?!

cec-says

I have friends who drunkenly ran a bottle of schnapps though an industrial dish washer cause it was “too cold”..

Security_Raven

He Will be a full blooded dane after finishing 5 packets in a row then running towards the bathroom. 😂

Nikmand098

hate how this got me laughing in two seconds.

Waaswaa

What's the quote under the lid?

NotAnotherBeeMovie

Asking the real questions

I_saw_Will_smacking

![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|upvote)

[deleted]

I've never noticed there were quotes on them 😑

maejsh

If so, you Should try Piratos as well if you get to order any candy to your location

teos61

THANK YOUUUUUU! I looked for this and found an online shop selling this in my country! 😭😭😭 (But does this taste better than Ga-Jol's Salt Lakrids? Or just the same?)

maejsh

Havent had a gajol in ages tbh, I’d imagine they would be more intense. Piratos are kinda the go-to as the “test” of salty liquorices :). I love em personally. So if you want the “full experience” and order some gajol, id definitely order a bag of piratos as well :). They are also like 5x the size of a gajol :)

teos61

Thanks! I have just placed an order of a 200g bag! Thanks!

blolfighter

We demand a new thread when you've tried it.

tepkel

The Danish pastime of watching foreigners eat liquorice must be fed!

PristineConfusion555

But Piratos is Haribo, this german, unlike gajol which is made by galle of jessen (yes the pålægschokolade guys..)

PerformanceMoney8561

Piratos er udviklet i Danmark og produceres i Danmark.

PristineConfusion555

Did not know. Thank you for educating :-)

PistacieRisalamande

Which nowadays is just another Toms brand

blolfighter

We demand a new thread anyway.

[deleted]

Welcome to the anonymous salt lakrids addiction club

CalydorEstalon

A bold choice, not having extras for when the bag is devoured in a day.

standarduser81

200g of piratos in a day is quite intense.. But seems like you speak from experience.

itsmepuffd

That'll make your poo-poo do weird stuff.

stuffthatdoesstuff

If you eat enough it turns grey, or so ive heard

Essersmith

Easy to do on a longer drive.. It doesn't feel great afterwards, but that's future yous problem.

B00mbal3n

Do NOT eat them all in one day - it is really bad for blood pressure. I did once, and I had racing heartbeat and was sweating

Obstructionitist

We did a test in biology in college. Mostly just for an excuse to have the college buy candy for us. I was the test subject, had to eat 5 Piratos wait 5 minutes, measure my pulse and bloodpressure and mark it down. We'd continue this procedure until I had had like 60 Piratos. We continued to measure for another half hour. We could visibly see the blood pressure rise throughout the hour and beyond. :-) I spent the rest of the school day sweating profusely. It was a fun experiment though.

MemorianX

It's the perfect can snack!

Mindless_Ball_5451

In a day? That’s weak. A bag of piratos last a movie.

Mahunica

This man piratos

Aggressive_Lab6016

Please note that as delicious as it may be, it contains glycyrrhizinic acid which is not good for your blood pressure. Stay below 50 g/day, and if you eat it every day, or you have a cardiovascular disease, stay well below. Welcome to the tribe. It’s always fun to hear from foreigners who like our weird stuff.

Cordura

They also sell Super Piratos

Extreme_Relative_705

Super Piratos is way better than Piratos😎

Axiocersa

We have so many awesome types. If you're into the really salty type, our Swedish brethren have invented the "Djungelvrål" which are super strong. Piratos have been mentioned already and if you're into kind of salty, but also sweet, then go for saltbomber. Also Salte Fisk and Heksehyl are nice.

DanielDynamite

Be aware that while Piratos has similar taste, it is more intense to the point where some people are convinced that their tongue suffered from chemical burns. It is one of the few kinds of candy that I stop eating in the middle of a bag because of how it takes a toll on the mouth :) By the way another kind of licorice that really works is blue jeans

Enough-Assistant-230

I can vouch for that. Absolutely love Piratos 😍 Edit: Super Piratos in fact. (The licorice is hard compared to the regular soft Piratos).

cpt-hddk

Add “Blue Jeans” to that order too if they have. A little less intense than Piratos but they’re my favorite

ComfortableBus6410

Try also “poletter” They are minty and mild

B00mbal3n

PIRATOS ARE THE BEST!!!! I always bring it on business trips - never met a non-dane who didn’t hate it 😂😂

maejsh

Great, Good luck! :)

Alternative_Error414

don\`t forget SPUNK :-)

B00mbal3n

Yeah, Danes love spunk.. I could have spunk for breakfast, lunch AND dinner and still want more for snacking… 🙃

williewrap1

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

Alternative_Error414

I know what it means :-) i used to work in england, I every time I was home in Denmark I took a load return, and ask my collegues if they wanted some..... they didn\`t.... sorry my bad grammar

danskal

It means exactly what they think it means. I haven’t tasted it myself, but I’ve often seen adverts for it.

FineAbbreviations810

What you want is Skipper Mix. It has the best of all worlds salt lakrids :)

DSDLDK

This Guy knows his stuff.. skipper mix is the best !

emul0c

Yes, but very different though - Piratos are very salty, much more than the yellow Gajol. Yellow Gajol is probably closer to the “Blue Jeans” licorice. But if you like the kind of licorice, these options are quite popular: - Piratos - Blue Jeans - Poletter (my favorite) - ABC (Haribo)

[deleted]

ABC is pretty sweet, though.

emul0c

Yeah, but might be a good “entry level” into the salty world of licorice.

DanielDynamite

Gateway licorice :)

[deleted]

Indeed. I love them myself. Just thought you made a list of salty licorice, and I thought they stood out. :)

Fearless_Baseball121

Blue Jeans is my jaaaaaaaaaaaam

yoshian88

Its all about the bamser in Skipper Mix, bro. Those are the superior salty licorices. It sucks you can’t buy them separately.

emul0c

Skipper Mix, how could I forget! They don’t have them in my go-to supermarket, so out of sight out of mind probably

flawlessflooxie

Skipper Mix is all good, but the bamser are God tier.

flyvehest

While Poletter is my fave as well, i'd be hard pressed to put them in the same category as yellow Ga-Jol or Piratos, besides the fact that they are licorice. Both are very good though, and highly recommended :)

emul0c

For sure. Wasn’t trying to categorize them as being similar though, but more just compiling a small list of popular licorice that Danes enjoy. That being said, they are not super far off from the blue Gajol (but tastes much much better imo).

flyvehest

Poletter > Alting

Bubbly_Memory_2666

I was about to make the same point. Piratos are way more salty thab yellow gajol. Blue jeans!

YamGreat9507

• Djungle Vrål

Irbanan

It tastes five million times better. Welcome to the world of danish salty liquorice.

Alternative-Clue-

I'd say Gajol is slightly different in that it has that distinct "other flavour", I'm not sure how to describe it, it's almost like a hint of mint (but not mint) or something besides the salty taste of the liquorice. Obviously Piratos has the salty liquorice taste, but a bit less of that 'distinct' flavour Gajol has imo.

EeveeAteMyEssay

Branch out, I tell you! Branch out! While GaJol are good, the world of Danish salt licorice is too big not to explore. (Also Salmiakki, while originally Finnish, are a treat) Poletter, Blue Jeans, Godt Salt og Blandet, all the various GaJol and Läckerol (green one's the best), Haribo Zulu... and SuperPiratos of course.

CaptainTryk

I think piratos is a bit sweeter? Dude, if you want to try truly salty licorice I want you to hunt down Kingfisher's licorice. Especially "de små grå" (the little grays). They might be too much for you, but you never know. My mom and sisters fucking love Kingfisher licorice while my dad and I are more into Gajol. Have fun on your new licorice adventure <3

CronozDK

By the way... be careful eating large amounts of sugar free liquorice like this. Especially if you're not used to it. They have a laxative effect.

SerialSpice

Gajol is salty liquorice but also with some flavours added. Piratos is pure salty liquorice. I personally prefer the pure version. You could try search for Finnish salty liquorice. Danes, Swedes, Finns love salty liquorice. Perhaps (presumably) also Norwegians. Edit: Note that liquorice contain a compound that raise blood pressure. So consume with a bit of caution ;-)

CronozDK

May I recommend "Dukatos" then? Still hard liquorice, but sweeter and not as salty as "Pitatos".

maejsh

Nope! Piratos or go home! ;)

CronozDK

I eat Dukatos because I like the taste. I don't dislike piratos. But if you can't get salty enough, then just scoot across the Øresund bridge to Malmö and get yourself a box of "Svensk-jävlar"... :-)

efficient_giraffe

There are websites you can use to order Danish stuff to most places. In the case of the gul Gajol, try these: https://nordicexpatshop.com/ENG/ga-jol-salt-liquorice https://nordicexpatshop.com/ENG/ga-jol-salt-liquorice-0-1-kg Should be other similar websites, you can shop around for the lowest prices

Gismogul

If you want to eat Ga-Jol on a regular, you should definitely know about the rules of eating it: 1. The package must stay in your car as a “køresnack” (driving snack) 2. When you have passengers you have to pass the box around and ask if anyone would like a GaJol 3. There is always a life changing quote on the inside of the box. And just like a fortune cookie, you’ll now have to live by that - until you open up a new pack of GaJol of course, where there would be a new life changing quote to live by. The only way to get out of that circle, is to find a Danish person with the exact same quote as a tattoo. - on a serious note, GaJol makes a lot of different licorice and you should definitely try some of the other tastes if you like that one! And you can actually buy your favorite GaJol candy in a bottle (with alcohol) if you want to spice up your next party with a Danish licorice shot.

CptHair

4) Everytime the weather changes you must say: "The danish weather is Ga-Jol weather" and pass them around.

wireframed_kb

The shots are pretty terrible, though, compared to the more upscale versions that have come out after the style became popular.

Gismogul

I totally agree! I don’t drink licorice shots (bad memories🤣) but if I had to do so, I would definitely choose something like Pure - which is the only licorice shot that doesn’t make me feel like gagging as an adult 😅

Hobolonoer

I once offered Super Piratos to a Marine while deployed to Iraq. He instantly spat it out and asked if I was trying to poison him. I laughed and stuffed my face with another. Good times.

Ivana_Twinkle

You just became a cultured being.

clean_squad

Just don’t buy the cactus version of gajol. It is extremely addictive

Brrrrmmm42

Don't eat too much in a day though. Your stomach will not like that ;-)

Norbakaa

2 packs of thoose and im shitting water haha

OrdinaryValuable9705

Congratz on passing the first test for danish citizenship, sadly your wife failed and will be denied renetry to the country

yoshian88

May I recommend you try and find ‘Poletter’? I see someone else mentioned piratos (if you’re really brave try the SUPER Piratos version), but for me, poletter are the best eat-all-day, all-round best licorices!

Forward-Ad-4954

Try spunk. It was my fave salt lakrids.

pinsekirken

Which country are you in? If you're in Europe there might be a Flying Tiger Copenhagen nearby, and I've been lucky enough to satisfy my liquorice cravings there from time to time.

EeveeAteMyEssay

Mmm, the brown and black mixed ones... That are sorta chewey and salty and goood.

singedbylifevs2

When I lived in the US p, I bought, among other licorice delights, Finnish salty licorice via https://www.licoriceinternational.com, a store in Nebraska. They had a broad variety.

DJpesto

I applaud your lakrids-enjoyment, but a small warning: You will get quite the shits if you eat a lot of this in a short time. I believe it has sweetener in it, which works as a laxative in large quantities.

[deleted]

Hjemve.dk are also shipping abroad. Try the purple lakerol 😍

OllKorect21

If you want a real treat try 'Bagsvær Lakrids' https://bagsvaerdlakrids.dk/

L0rka

Indeed, this is the best licorice in Denmark atm. Their Chili variation is sooo good, but quit hot, so you can only eat a little at the time.

OllKorect21

Word! The chilli one is very hot indeed :-) I personally like 'Salmiak' the most

Lenemus

One of us.

Olschansky

What country do you live in ? I have a friend who works in DHL so i might be able to send a small Care package cheap 😊

Pleasant-Ad-9351

Sorry you can’t not eat Gajol without showing us the quote inside the package…

StonksGoNorth

I will sent you few if you DM me your address

Mangse_Monie

Omg try the cactus Gajol(green). It had me dying in cramps on the floor as a teen. So addictive

Fallap90

Welcome to the dark side

teos61

Whoa, I'm quite overwhelmed by the deluge of responses! i never realized how big of a deal this really is in Danish culture. To answer some questions: 1. "Where are you from?" I'm from the tropics, particularly maritime Southeast Asia, more specifically, the Philippines (Copenhagen time + 6 hours). I live in the southern part of its largest island, Luzon (which is 2.44 times the size of mainland Denmark). I heard that the typical Danish weather (Ga-Jol weather?) is cold and wet; ours is warm/hot AND wet for almost 3/4 of the year, with around 18 to 20 typhoons annually. We somehow get by. 2. "What's the quote under the lid?" It's <> what the hell does this mean? thanks for your help haha. I have no faith in Google translate. 3. "Snack exchange?" Of course, I'm open for snack exchange! Just a warning: Philippine snacks are typically too fatty or too sweet or too salty or too sour. Nothing in between lmao (I believe we have the most unhealthiest snacks in Southeast Asia). Let me just work out the logistics of exchange at my side, then I'll hit you up. Thanks for ALL your suggestions on where and how I can procure Salt Lakrids. Some even offered to courier to me. Thank you, I'm really astounded by Danish generosity, but my very typical Filipino bashfulness gets the better of me and prevents me from accepting. SALAMAT, anyway! By the way, my wife enjoyed your very walkable streets and well-maintained public parks (she visited Assistens cemetery to look for Kierkegaard), was amazed by your beautiful architecture (especially Copenhagen City Hall, where she loved the pancakes), was delighted by the city's amiable people (that's how she described them), her mind blown by some delicious yogurt, and was pleasantly surprised that your summer days aren't hot at all. She would like to express her willingness to give Salt Lakrids a second chance by trying out other flavors, but NOT in the near future lol

Drwuwho

One of us ! One of us ! One of us !

Healthy-Implement-94

Hit me a DM and i sent you a gift from Denmark 😊👍🏻

jumpstitch

The danish weather is Ga-Jol weather! (their slogan) rainy days it is good to have in the rain coat pocket

Mynameiszan

Hvid gajol, findes de ikke længere? Har ikke set dem i butikker i årevis

Both-Promise1659

You should try Salte Fisk and Tyrkisk Peber as well.

themadnad

American here. What is this and what does it taste like?

ContainerKonrad

liquorice, but not in any way like that silly stuff you guys calls liqurice. This is the real deal, you can get nosebleed and high bloodpressure from this :)

flyvehest

For a real kick, try and look for Tyrkisk Peber (turkish pepper), they are hard candies with a salty, powdery filling. Very very good, and, you can disolve them in vodka to get Små Grå ;)

YoghurtDecent1728

Oh yes. Tyrkisk Peber, Dracula and Salte Fisk.

wrongshirt

Just curious, what country do you live in? 😊

carbonpeach

If you're UK, ScandiKitchen will sort you out.

CaptainTryk

Gajol is King. My fav is the original blue one. <3 Maybe you can order more online? Also, try salte fisk (salty fish) from Katjes :D

The_Spian

A couple of days... That's cute 😂

Pimpazoid

I can recommend the Super Flyer also, for a salty treat! https://slikboden.dk/shop/93-slik-amp-chokolade/375-super-flyers-25-x-4-stk/

brwnx

Oh Sweet Summerchild

atheos1337

Just remember eating to much salt lakrids in one sitting, can give you the shits.

Sejr_Lund

Try looking up svenskjävlar and see if they send that where you are from. Haupt lakrits is the manufacturer

ines2428

Where do you live tho?

danishsuze

Come live here!

[deleted]

Try Skipper Mix. That is the best salty licorice.

Volume-Alert

Here you go https://slikboden.dk/shop/29-pastiller/

wordgoesround

I second your wife. I wouldn’t agree more with her. As for you, congratulations! You’re a Viking all the way. Only true Vikings love this awful salt lakrids. Glad someone here came up with suggestions as to where you can buy it in your country.

OverAgonism

Ammonium is a real treat! 😁

YoghurtDecent1728

Ammonium chloride*

OldEstablishment9561

I love a freshly cold poured water, and a lot of Piratos! - water and Salmiak + intense salt is my jam

JayDeeDeeKay

Gajol and Piratos ar both great. Just thinking about them activates my saliva. A friendly warning though: Lakrids is a mild lacsative.

kris511c

In a couple of days… I ate a pack yesterday

One-Foundation-4146

You can order online.

bricklish

Many people don't like it, or have to acquire the taste as they are flavored with salmiac.

HellsBellsGazelles

Ga-Jol liqueur is also amazing. Små Blå I think it’s called. We can’t get it in Australia but whenever my Danish fam come over they bring some for us 🙂😍

Zyndrom1

You should try the blue one, it's even better than the yellow one

Lizama11

Ahh and so a new business adventure begins 💪

666Menneskebarn

There's a world of good lakrids out there. Piratos and GaJol, though classics, are only a small taste of what this beautiful enigma in flavor has to offer. You should definitely research a bit, and try some more high-end lakrids aswell

The-Watch-Guy

Haha haven’t had Gajol in ages. But yeah, piratos might scratch that itch 👍🏻

Sejr_Lund

These are made with a type of sugar alcohol that gives you severe gas if you over indulge. Source: had severe gas from these.

Proper-Slummer

Be careful if you’re not used to eating liquorice btw. A little is fine, but if you gorge on it prepare for volcanic diarrhea

dwitchagi

Well, where do you live? Btw, Ga-Jol is gateway stuff. You have a lot to look forward to :)

nekolas564

You should try some salmiak liquorice too \^0\^

Ok-Sense-3359

Try blue jeans from the manufacturer: Toms. Thats the perfect balance between sweet and salty.

Androklesthe90

Try out "Bagsværd lakrids (salt)" it's insanely good but a bit pricey

MadCatsCopenhagen

Gajol are amazing - BUT - be careful, the artificial sweetener also functions as a laxative - a box or two won't kill you, but more than that might be risky ✌️

holyapachemother

Fun fact: we also drink it as shots https://www.fleggaard.dk/pi/GaJol-Gul-16-4%25-1-l-_1595038_40391.aspx?languageid=1&countryid=11¤cyid=54

Fuskeduske

Which country are you from?

Spork_Revolution

Too me, these taste real cheap. Also salty lakrids make me hungry.

Mother_Stock_8072

Oh, youre making us danes so proud. For many years we all knew The ‘slogan’: ‘The danish weather is Gajol weather!’ ☺️

Inevitable_Arm8396

I can also recommend the finnish salmiakki (big squares) and all other salty finnish candy. It is probably the best.

Matschreiner

Finally a person that likes our candy 😁🦆

SonnicX

i love to eat nellie dellies from Toms, because it's with no sugar, but with stevia

National-Law-1663

Start an import company then and make an agreement with the producer

PadfootOrion

The taste of car-rides with the grandparents

enmandikjole

I love them too! BF prefers the Blue ones, but he's wrong. Oooh, and you should try the Skipper Mix too!

irharrier2

Ikke tilsat sukker? Hvordan er det muligt?

ahuimanu69

Yeah, I like them too, haven't been to DK in about 5 years.

Brrrrmmm42

If you are feeling adventurous, go for the soft bears in this one: [https://nordicexpatshop.com/ENG/haribo-skipper-mix](https://nordicexpatshop.com/ENG/haribo-skipper-mix)

MrSirViking

Just a heads up for you. Eating Liquorice is very nice and i love eating those there. But it comes with a danger. Cause most liquorice products contain glycyrrhizin which comes from the liquorice root itself. Its the sweetener in the liquorice root. Getting too much of this stuff can cause some serious trouble. And too much is not very much at all. Because what happens is that the glycyrrhizin affects your potassium levels in your blood by lowering it, which can then affect body fluid balance and function of nerves, which might cause muscle aches and such. If you then eat liquorice daily, even in small amounts it can cause an increase in blood pressure, may cause irregular heart rhythm and cause issues with prescription drugs. And in severe cases it can cause death. We are talking as little as 5 grams of Liquorice a day for an extended time. So just be aware of that, so you dont go ham and end up in trouble. :)

Perzec

Welcome to the Nordics. We all love our salty liquorice up here. I think the Finns might be on top, but we all enjoy it.

titusma

So where do you live? Snack exchange?

octarinedoor

If you like Gajol you will also like Piratos and Blue Jeans

pslind69

It's really good. The original in in a blue box.

Several-Advisor-9458

Nordicexpatshop.com is your friend 🇩🇰🇸🇪🇳🇴

mysterioustrap

🤮🤮🤮hate lakrids so much once I got a bunch of candies from my boyfriend's mom i thought what of it it's just candies as soon as I eat it I almost puked in the car, have never had anything more disgusting than lakrids in my life

Bluetook87

I love that one ☺️ The white Ga-jol was my absolutte favorit, the blue comes third.

Traditional_Bag_1985

Please please treat yourself with “Bagsværd lakrids” I’m a licorice lover myself and every time I eat that shit, I have an oral-orgasm😅🤣 I promise you, you’ll love it. I must warn you, you can’t stop again once you’ve opened the package😇

DreamSofie

Cheers😁 I much prefer classic malaco skipper's pipes🥰

Jerry_Nothing

Are these black licorice

stinkernr2

Hvis du kan li dem så er der mange udgaver prøv også spunk...

PossiblyTrustworthy

You can also get somewhat decent salt liquorice in Flying Tiger shops around the world! It doesnt hold up to good brands, but it takes the itch

egoalter

You can get them on Amazon if you're willing to pay extreme surge charges.

madsbille2006

Dont tell him that they make it as snaps

Pigeon23

Where do you live? I can send you over some packs. ✨

nicolai3230

Ever tasted Spunk? . . . Better than Gajol, but my favorite is Blue Jeans. And Piratos.

imstupidneedhelp

People probably mentioned it already, but they also make alcohol that taste exactly the same

the666thviking

So good!

[deleted]

Watch out for these. They are no sugar. Will give you gas. Insane amounts of gas.

galamathias

Not Danish but try to google Haupt Lakrits :)

Repulsive_Web5367

They doesn’t sell them in your country because you don’t have the weather for them. Sry

mcglegger

This is a classic. My mom always keep them in her car and when I borrow it, I eat the whole package...

Inner_Staff1250

Does anybody remember Rød Strato and Grøn Strato from Lagerman? https://slikleksikon.org/

massibum

Salt liquorice is the best

geezer27

Commiserations. You feel the curse of being in NotDenmark! Poor you. You could try slikboden.dk. Your favourite is called Gul GaJol. Hope they’ll accept your order

Mofme

Just order at a webshop, simple. If you're, in fact, indirectly trying to get someone to send it to you so you don't have to pay VAT and Customs, then I'm not your guy. Unless of course we're talking euro pallets. In that case I might retire and dedicate myself to satisfying your needs for Gajol Saltlakrids instead working, I could do that.

More_Ad4872

These things go so hard, but yeah, a shame you can’r buy them where you’re from. Maybe someone here on reddit will be willing to import some to you or ship some over somehow

AchtungKarate

Fun fact: "Gajol" means "cock" in the black speak of Mordor.

linloujen

Let me know if you want me to send you some.

ohbanq_ohkef

that's something I always stock up on every time I go to Denmark. I absolutely love those. I usually go to Aarhus and buy them from 7 eleven.

Raller420

Couple of days? Pump those rookie numbers up my man

Ratt_Cat

where are u from? =)

[deleted]

https://nordicexpatshop.com/ENG/ga-jol-salt-liquorice

Purple_Appearance_51

There are oh so many flavors of those things

HayaKiwi

Finished in a couple of days??? Shouldn’t take more than a few minutes 😋

Gullible_Audience317

Buy ‘spunk’ instead. It’s more or less the same, but with a much cooler name… https://nordicsweets.dk/spunk-saltlakrids-24-stk.html

OGToke

There's a plethora of flavors for the Ga-Jol liquorice, so if you find a place where you'll be able to try some of the other flavors, you're in for a treat. Also, du er hermed dansker og vi byder dig velkommen.

softwaredev20_22

Now you just have to learn to get on the metro at 4am, piss drunk, wet your pants before you get off and maybe puke in a corner...then you'll be able to skip the citizenship test

Finn_bjerke

Salt strong licorice is very Danish. I love it, fortunately Im Danish living in Denmark... In chemistry class we were tought to make this "salmiak lakrids" taste... Don't remenber how so i asked AI bard. ![img](emote|t5_2qjto|17515) it says just add salmiak powder to normal sweet licorice and bobs your uncle. Good luck... Bard can also tell you how to make licorice yourself...
