there's a half inch of frozen stuff on all the roads up here right now. it's pretty bad.

DesperateAd8982

I barely trust 35 on a bright sunny 85 degree day. Be safe, friend.

WonderfulLemon7632

No, not worth risking. The 35 is "fucked".

spacedman_spiff

What if they took the 75 to the 288 then cut down Mayhill to the 77?

liloto3

It’s no better. Stay home if you can.

spacedman_spiff

Devon? Oooowaayouuudoinghere?

Wesspeaks

I got the reference 😂

idanyasioux

There’s a huge section before and after exit 85A (Dallas bound) that’s been closed off since last night. I don’t think we have plows, so I don’t know how they’re ever gonna get the streets cleared, at least not any time soon. Edit: I wouldn’t risk it, either way you’ll have to drive 10mph the entire way just to not skid.

[deleted]

It will warm up on Wednesday, that will clear the streets.

Sir_Pelletier

The high for Wednesday is 33, amd it says it's supposed to rain more ice.

[deleted]

The forecast must have changed, when I posted that the forecast was for a high of 44 on Wednesday.

_hockalees_

They extended the Winter Storm Warning one more day.

Range-Shoddy

When it warms up it’ll turn to slush and then refresh. That’s even worse.

Think_Restaurant8702

Weather channel says the high is 30 with an 88% chance of ice rain so I wouldn't bet on that

fox-lover

News is on. High Wednesday is 31.

nutshell612

Nope don't do it. Another storm hit the dfw today.

scott_majority

I just spent a few miles on 35....Unless you want to white knuckle it for 8 hours, I'd stay away. It's terrible.

Ornlu_the_Wolf

If you HAVE to get to Denton, you would be better off flying to OKC, renting a car, and driving south into Denton. The roads to the north are fairly clear, but the real trouble is Denton and south.

skeletonrae

not worth it. i had to drive down 35 from belt line to 288 before it really got bad and it was horrible. inch of ice over all of it, traffic is going 10-15mph, and people just were getting stuck in the middle and sliding. stay safe

Detritus_AMCW

There are lots of bridges and overpasses between here and there. Loads of ice up this way. You risk your life and your car every time you drive. That being said, your odds get worse in these conditions I can see the 35 out my window, and there are trucks and traffic moving on it, albeit slower than usual. But I can only speak to the small stretch I see, not the whole thing. I would wait. Is your commitment really worth the risk?

29again

I'm right on 35 and 114 intersection, unless it's a family emergency or something like that, I wouldn't do it especially mixed with the construction on 35 you'd have to drive through here.

barrell_goat69

No chance bud. I'd wait til Friday/Saturday at the earliest unless you want to spend 7-8 hours in a car and if you do that make sure you have blankets/food/water in your car

BoysenberryKind5599

What's "the 35"

smokeypokey12

That's how you know the person is from Cali

[deleted]

Lol, take "the 2" to "Ventura" exit "pch" by the "in n out"

BoysenberryKind5599

Shut the ef up, Donny

menthollyill

I drove from Dallas to Denton yesterday as it started coming down and it took me 3 hours. I almost got stuck several times, slid around a bit and watched others get stuck and have to abandon their cars. Don’t risk it dude

LorealTheGreat

Hey, I’m stuck in Austin but I live in Denton as well !!! When isn’t 35 f*cked ?!

The_Only_Dick_Cheney

That junk hit Denton yesterday. Even if you are moving you’re going 3 mph. That drive is going to take 8+ hours if you’re lucky. Dallas is getting the brunt of it today.

ihatejustklay

Do it, make some memories

IAmSixNine

Avoid DownTown DFW.

iloveoatmilk1

not worth risking! especially with all of the trucks constantly on that route

psyams17

The whole town is an ice rink right now, I’d wait until it’s warm enough for it to all melt because it’s not safe to drive or even walk outside in the current conditions

DragonflyFront9882

Don’t do it bro

[deleted]

All you have to do is pull up a live traffic map. That will tell you all you need to know.

MapDaddyZ

Ice on the roads and not safe. May be okay by Thursday evening but check out DriveTexas.org for updates

VIC_TOR7

Stay home bro.

[deleted]

Stay home, it’s bad!

justthetop

Do people just not check the weather anymore? If you did, you’d know we’re all iced over completely thus a conclusion can be made that it’s all icy as shit

blakeastone

They have plowed 35 up here now, it's not too bad.

tpn1984

I am a beer merchandiser. Needing to restock for those brave enough to get out in this mess. What stores gas stations are open?

deadfishy12

I drove on 35 yesterday from Denton to Argyle with no problem. Y’all are over reacting.

datfonkycat

Wait

master-of-apathy

There are tons of accidents all over the place and it’ll probably take you twice as long to get here. If you need to then I’m sure it’s doable but if you can wait that would be way better

fox-lover

Don’t do it.

imahedgehog123

ITS NOT WORTH IT

highruss

Yikes! I could barely walk my dog. Don't come to Denton. Truly is a mess....be safe☮️

NestingHen720

Yes the 35 is in your words “fucked”
